028. Welcome home
Jimin entered the great hallway of the Min mansion...again. He felt feverish stepping in here, and nostalgic in a bad way. He had stepped in here , the red carpet was kissing the floor. It was all deadly silent...
He inhaled deeply before walking again beside Yoongi. The elder faced him, a small smile playing at his lips as he muttered a soft "come on," to Jimin.
Jimin followed Yoongi as he led him upstairs. He had no idea where the hell Yoongi was taking him. He didn't remember the corridors at all, considering the only time Jimin had stepped on them was when he was having sex with Yoongi...for the first time. But he was too busy eating his face to pay attention to where he was being taken.
He remembered that Yoongi's room was situated at the top most tower. A little creepy but also exciting. There were so many corridors it was going to take a while to remember them.
They reached the very corner of the house and stopped in front of the door. It was so silent there, their steps echoed. Yoongi softly knocked on the door and there was a muffled 'come in' in a woman's voice.
Yoongi glanced at Jimin before opening the door. He stepped in, and Jimin not knowing what to do, followed Yoongi.
As he stepped in, he noticed a woman sitting on an arm chair beside a king sized bed. She had curly hair and beige skin. She was beautiful but her face right now, didn't show a glow Jimin could only picture in his imagination.
Nervousness filled Jimin by seeing her when their gazes locked. She was surely close to Yoongi.
"Clarice," Yoongi spoke before looking at Jimin. "This is Jimin..."
Yoongi licked his lips as Clarice observed Yoongi then Jimin. She checked Jimin out (not judgingly) before her lips turned into an amused smile, although the smile was weary.
"The mystery guy?" She asked Yoongi and his eyes widened, a blush of pink spreading accross Yoongi's cheeks, all the way to his ears. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Yeah, that..." Yoongi answered whereas Jimin had no idea what the fuck was going on and what were the two talking about.
"Uh...I have some errands to run... I'll see you two in a bit." Yoongi said before rushing out of the room. Jimin's eyes popped out, realising Yoongi just ditched him and left him with a complete stranger. He looked at his front, eyes contacting with the woman named Clarice.
She smiled at him and that helped Jimin soothe a little bit. "Come here, sit down." She said in a low voice and Jimin stepped forward to sit beside her on the bed.
"Hi," she said.
Jimin inhaled a breath, he wanted to return her smile, and he he really tried to...but could only form a small one, waving a hand at her.
She chuckled at his nervousness, the first she had in months.
"Yoongi talks a lot about you."
Jimin blushed and looked down. He wondered if Yoongi had told her the whole fuckery about him thinking he killed his brother and all.
He looked up, curious to see if she knew anything. But when he saw nothing just genuine amusement, he felt guilty.
"Do you...uh...nothing." He stammered. He didn't want to remind her of her dead boyfriend by seeing her fragile state. He didn't much judge Jihyun but he felt bad that she had lost him. She just had this...glint within her. He just knew she was a good person.
"How old are you?" She asked.
"I'm uh... Twenty one," he answered.
She raised her eyebrows in shock.
"You're just a boy...how come– how come you–"
"How come I kill?" He finished her question. "I don't know either." He answered.
She closed her mouth, nodding shortly.
Jimin bit his lip. He had to say it. He just wanted to apologize by seeing her state. He could see how affected she was by Jihyun's death, he could even feel it in the aura of the house. There was also a small baby bump in her stomach that made him pity her. She didn't deserve this. She was good.
"I'm sorry," he blurted out, making Clarice look up at him. "I'm sorry he died. Although it isn't my place to be sorry since I was sent to kill him but...I didn't. But still, I– he died in a battle where I was supposed to die. I didn't kill him I swear! Maybe– maybe Yoongi told you that I killed him but no it was a misunderstanding–"
"I don't hate you." She whispered, cutting him off.
"What? You don't?!" Jimin asked. "But– but you should, right–?"
Clarice shook her head. "You said Jihyun died at the battle you were supposed to die in. It means he wanted to kill you. Jihyun killed a lot of innocent people, Jimin, so I stopped finding a reason for them. I stopped hoping that maybe those people were bad." She bit her trembling lip, as if thinking about Jihyun physically ached her. And to be honest, it did.
Jimin sighed, not knowing what to do.
"I was going to abort the baby..." She stroked her belly. "Because I didn't want to give birth to a child who'd see their dad's a killer, and their mom is okay with it. But...I loved Jihyun because despite being whatever he was, he could never see me in pain. He never harmed me, he kept me with so much respect. Never once did he let me feel that–"
Jimin could see the tears stinging at her eyes. He looked down. He wanted to say that he understood but he really didn't. He couldn't say that Yoongi had done any of that for him. Harmed him? He freaking shot him.
"I guess Yoongi and his older brother were a lot different then..." He whispered.
"Yes," Clarice agreed. "Yes they're a lot different from each other. I know Yoongi since he was a kid. Jihyun was that typical Mafia leader and Yoongi is... well you know Yoongi. Jihyun was like a parent to him, strict as well. Yoongi never had any control over his life."
Yeah maybe that's why he's so controlling in bed. Jimin blushed at his own thought but didn't say anything.
"That's why he understands me so much. When I tell him I didn't get to choose anything in my life either." Jimin said lowly and Clarice just nodded.
But then Jimin furrowed his eyebrows. Why was he taking Yoongi's side? He's fucking mad at him.
"I hate Yoongi." He muttered and Clarice chuckled.
"Why?"
That's what made Jimin look up from his hands to face the woman. He gaped, contemplating wether he should reveal it or not. But then sighed, "oh, well..." He started. "For a start he shot me."
Clarice gasped loudly. "What?"
"He shot me that night when uh... Jihyun died." Jimin muttered. "I thought he had came to help me but instead he shot me...I don't think I've ever felt a betrayal like that..." He hugged his thighs closer to his chest, resting his chin on his knees. "Then he expects me to forgive him by his stupid ass cries and apologies. I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive him. I hate him."
Jimin waited for a moment, thinking about Yoongi. "See that's the thing! I can't hate him, I–" he sighed. "I really love him, how do I be a person with dignity and make him pay for what he did and not just– not just dive into his arms when he shows up after three months of disappearance, blaming me for killing his brother and manhandling me to the point that my stitches open!"
"I can't take it anymore...I feel so stupid."
"O-oh my God," Clarice let out. "I-I didn't know so much was going on. Did he really shoot you– because he thought you killed Jihyun which you didn't?"
Jimin just nodded, looking at the sorry expression on her face.
"It's okay, it isn't your fault."
There was a moment of silence in the room before Clarice spoke, "I'm not taking his side on this one but...you see the betrayal you felt when he shot you... it's the same betrayal he felt when he thought you killed his brother. He thought that it was all a lie from the beginning...just like you. I know what he did was wrong and shouldn't have pulled that action but he acted upon adrenaline. He saw his brother's lifeless body, Jimin. Maybe both of you are on the same boat."
Jimin gulped down his dry throat, "yes, perhaps...but I didn't kill his brother, so I got shot for nothing."
"You don't need to forgive him. I was just narrating his side of the story. To say the least he's been a mess."
They continued talking for almost an hour, a peaceful talk, Jimin enjoyed it. Somewhere in the conversation, they've stopped sulking and started laughing a bit. He liked Clarice.
The door opened once again and Yoongi peeked his head through it, giving a small smile to both of them before ushering Jimin to come nearer.
Jimin stood up from the bed, telling Clarice to hang on a minute before going out of the room to face Yoongi.
The elder gave Jimin a small smile. "I told you you'd enjoy her company."
"She's such a sweetheart." Jimin chimed.
"Okay, big baby, you can be with her all you want, but...which room do you want to sleep in?"
An audible 'huh?' left Jimin's mouth, eyebrows furrowed.
"I mean...you could sleep with me in my room..."
Jimin's eyebrows dipped down even more and Yoongi panicked.
"Okay– okay. I wouldn't sleep with you. You can have my room, I'll take another." He said hastily, not wanting to make Jimin uncomfortable in any way.
Jimin bit his lip, thinking hard while looking down. He didn't want to sleep with Yoongi. His heart yearned to but he couldn't, if anything, he couldn't take another betrayal. But he didn't want to be alone either.
"Well the whole point of it was..." Jimin mumbled, fiddling with his fingers. "The whole point of it was to make me feel less lonelier, and Clarice as well..."
He looked back at the closed door of her room. "Can I sleep with Clarice, if she doesn't mind?"
Yoongi raised his eyebrows in amusement, a small smile flickering his lips.
"Okay. I have no problem until she doesn't."
Jimin gave a tight smile to Yoongi, the atmosphere suddenly turning awkwardly silence. He looked down.
"I'll just...uh...go in."
"Yeah, okay."
Jimin hummed before turning around and going inside the room once again.
