7. Kiss you...
I threw out clothes and more clothes from my closet, trying to find something to wear, I ended up pouring out everything in the closet after several minutes of coming up with nothing. I finally ended up picking a black jean and a blue chiffon top, that was actually at the top from the onset making me wonder why I didn't just pick it instead of pouring out the whole closet.
I walked over to my mirror with my cap and black veil in hand, I wore the cap and tied the black veil in the cutest way I could. I know you're probably wondering why I'm tying a veil, well you'll find out soon enough, once I was done dressing I picked up my bag and was about heading out of my room when I saw the state my room was in. My clothes were officially out of the closet now, so it looked like a first-class dungeon. I quickly threw all the clothes back into the closet and packed up my yoga mat that I had forgotten to clear after my workout session.
I admired my room one last time. It was still looking like a dungeon with the books that I was too lazy to put on the bookshelf lying on the floor, but it was liveable for me. I left the room with my bag in hand.
Immediately I got to the sitting room my mum called me into the kitchen as if she knew I was the one coming out, I dumped my bag on a couch, sent a glare towards my brother who was ironing my mum's cloth at a corner before heading to the kitchen. I saw that my mum was already dressed and she was frying eggs, now what is she cooking? I just pray it's not what I'm thinking.
"Yes, mummy."
"Go to Ademide's room. Ask him if he will have breakfast before heading to work," she said without even sparing me a glance.
I was adamant about going to his room, for one I wasn't ready to talk to him, and secondly, which mother sends their grown daughters into the room of an unmarried man?
"Can't we just wait for him to come out or something." I grumbled.
"So, you are telling me what to do now." She gave me that daring look of her again.
I left the kitchen and made my way to the guest room, I stood there for a few minutes before finally knocking on the door.
"Come in." I heard him say from within, I would have actually preferred him asking who I am, and I, in turn, ask him what I want to know from outside, not actually going into his room.
I opened the door anyway and walked into his room. The place was very neat, unlike the room of yours truly, but who cares? I looked at him seated on his bed shirtless. His body was actually driving me insane. He was in black pants and had a laptop on his leg furiously typing. He had on his glasses again, and I must say altogether he looked dashing.
"Mary, come over here." He said, not even looking up.
"How do you know I'm the one?" I asked.
"Your footsteps," he said, looking up and giving me a smile that had every single brain cell in my skull melting.
"Ohh, mummy said I should ask you if you're going to eat before heading to work." I said, I was greatly surprised I still remembered what I was sent, phew, kudos to me.
"No. Come here." He motioned for me to come closer with his hands. My better instincts told me to stay put where I was, but the other insensible part of me went closer to him.
He pulled me down to seat beside him on his bed once I was close enough, and he dumped his laptop on my lap, bravo.
"Can you help me with this while I quickly dress up?" He asked, staring deep into my eyes through those glasses of his. I was ready to say no, but he gave me that smile again and added, "Please, Mary."
"Okay, but I don't know anything about business proposals," I said, staring at the draft that he was working on.
"I just need you to help me take out the grammatical errors there. You're a writer, right?" He said, and his voice sounded so close to my ear. I turned to look at him and was shocked with the close proximity of his face, and he was staring at my face continuously. Why?
"Okay, and please stop staring at my face so much." I said, scooting away from him.
"I can't help it. Your face is practically the only face I see." He said, getting up from the bed. He pulled off his glasses and dropped it on his desk.
I got to work on his laptop, and there weren't a lot of errors. He was actually pretty good and needed no one to correct him. As I did the little I could do, I couldn't help glancing at him as he dressed, ohh I'm such a pervert.
I watched him bring out a neatly folded blue shirt from his closet, unlike someone I know. He threw the shirt over his body without so much effort, but he looked really hot while doing so. I almost wished he didn't have to button up the shirt, but he had to. He pulled out a white tie from his closet and put it around his neck, I would have loved to knot the tie for him, you know like those cute wives do, but I don't know how to knot a tie.
I decided to stop daydreaming and got back to work. Once I was done, I looked up, and he was already fully dressed. He came closer to me and sat on the bed, I got a quick whiff of his cologne and nearly drowned in it, I could sniff this all day.
"I'm done," I said, pushing the laptop towards him.
"Okay." He squinted his eyes at the screen probably because he wasn't wearing his glasses. It was then I actually wondered how bad his eyesight was.
"You can't see anything, can you?"
"Not really," he muttered. He took his laptop off my lap, closing it, and he put it into the laptop case.
"How bad is your eyesight?"
He didn't answer me at first, and I thought he wasn't going to, but then he came towards me and bent closer, very close, his lips only centimeters from mine. "So bad, you definitely wouldn't pray for eyes like mine, but at least I get to see your face." He bent a little more, making me shift backward.
"What are you trying to do?" I asked.
"Kiss you...what does it look like?" He said with a very causal shrug of his shoulders.
I pushed at his chest and stood up from his bed hurriedly, making to go out of his room, but he pulled me back, my back facing towards him. "Please don't kiss me," I pleaded.
He chuckled lightly before saying, "I wanted to say thank you," he said very close to my ears before letting go of my hand.
I ran out of his room as if I had just gotten saved from a disaster, and it was indeed a disaster because he had a girlfriend. I should never forget that he has a girlfriend.
"Mummy, I'm already going to shop," I yelled once I got to the sitting room. I picked up the two POS that were being charged and then the flashlight, dumping it into my bag. I was headed to the door before my mum waylaid me.
"Where do you think you are going without eating? Better drop that bag of yours and meet me in the kitchen now. Emi ko lo ma pa, (it is not me you will kill,)" She said before sashaying into the kitchen.
I groaned with so much effort and actually dropped the bag, I went to the kitchen and met with the perfect excuse to avoid eating.
"Mummy, you cooked yam. You know I don't eat yam." I said with a self satisfied smile, but she wiped that smile off.
"That is why I have bread for you here," she said, pointing to a plate that had four slices of bread on it. "I also know you love bread, and it is with egg."
She pointed to the plate of egg, and that actually gave me another excuse to avoid eating. Don't blame me. If it was noodles, I would have no qualms with eating it. "Mummy, you also know I can't eat bread and egg. It chokes me."
She gave me that pretty smile of hers that lighted up her ebony face, "That is why I made tea for you." She raised the cup of tea, "now, will you go and eat. And where is Ademide?"
"He said he is not having breakfast," I said, picking up the tray of food.
I walked out of the kitchen to behold Ademide, walking out of his room with a briefcase in hand. He looked so hot I must say, oh Mary cut it out."
"10am be fast with your food so I can drop you off at shop before heading to work." My mum called from the kitchen. I nearly rolled my eyes but didn't.
"Don't worry, ma, I will drop her off." Ademide said, sitting on one of the single couches. I nearly choked on the bread I was eating. Thank goodness there was tea.
"Won't you be late for work?" My mum asked, stepping out of the kitchen with a sweet smile for Ademide, if only she knew he was the devil himself.
"Not at all, ma." He said before turning his attention towards Samuel, who was looking relatively tired from ironing. Well, I wasn't sorry towards him, I had to endure that when he wasn't around. Mum left for her room afterward.

Immediately we got out of the house, I gave him a glare before saying, "Why the hell did you offer to drop me off at the shop? Do I look like I don't know the way?"
"You can never stop screaming, can you?" He said, rubbing his ear. He walked ahead of me towards the garage while I suppressed the urge to kick his ass.
"I hope you are not planning to drive my mum's car, she is going to work too, you know." I said, running after him.
He stopped in his tracks just outside the garage before turning to face me with a grin on his handsome face, "Funny how you believe your mum is the only one who can possess a car."
"So, you have a car?" I asked peevishly.
"How the hell do you expect me to go to work without a car?" He asked in return with a shrug of his shoulders before entering into the garage.
I followed him in ready to reply him, but I was shocked with the car I saw sitting in our garage close to my mum's car, okay, I know only little about cars, and their models, but this car looked like heaven om earth. It was a black beauty, a jeep, but I really don't know the model, but it had that logo that looks like panties on it.
"You make it look like everyone in the world has a car," I said, visibly eyeing him.
He ignored me totally and instead opened the passenger seat for me, I got him in shame and did my best at ignoring him as he also got in and drove out of our compound.
He drove in silence while I started thinking of what I would do for my babies. Their birthday was still on my mind, and it was today. I could try stealing a pack of drinks from my mum's shop, but she will skin me alive if she finds out. I could also try asking her when she gets back from work, or I could just pretend to forget their birthday, which was worse.
It was in this brooding state that we got to shop, I was even surprised that Ademide knew my mum's shop, I turned to look at him and saw him staring at my face studiously.
"I think you are obsessed with my face," I said.
"Yes, I am." He said without adding any other thing.
I sat there looking at him in shock while I tried to register what he had just said in my brain. It was then I saw someone from my peripheral vision. I looked closely and realized that it was Aisha. My prayer was answered. She was wearing a blue Abaya and gold veil, looking as gorgeous as ever.
I squealed happily and made to open the car door when Ademide's hand stopped me.
"Who is she?" He asked with all curiousness, I sat back and stared at him, wishing fervently that he hadn't just fallen for my best friend.
"Aisha, my best friend." I said.
"You look genuinely happy to see her. Is there a chance that you might look that happy to see me one day?" He asked, shocking me greatly. I looked at him closely. He looked really serious, so it was hard to determine if he was joking. After several thoughts, I decided he must be joking.
"Never! The mere thought of you irks me," I said, jerking my hand out of his before hoping down from his car. I ran towards Aisha immediately screaming, "Isha!"
She turned at my voice and smiled. She spread her arms for me, which I gratefully ran into, "My boo boo, I missed you." She said before laughing.
What do ya think?
