22 : Happy ending?
As days passed, the tension between Taehyung, Jasmine, and me only grew. Eventually, Taehyung made the difficult decision to divorce Jasmine and return to New York. It was a heartbreaking moment for all of us, but it also brought a sense of relief, knowing that the constant turmoil would come to an end.
Despite my happiness at the prospect of being with Jasmine, guilt weighed heavily on my conscience. I couldn't shake the feeling that I had played a part in tearing apart their marriage, and it haunted me day and night.
As Jasmine and I tried to navigate our newfound relationship, the specter of Taehyung's departure loomed large. We both knew that our happiness came at a steep price, and it was a burden we would have to bear for the rest of our lives.
Though the road ahead was fraught with challenges and uncertainty, I was determined to do whatever it took to make things right. Even as I held Jasmine in my arms, I couldn't shake the guilt that gnawed at my soul, a constant reminder of the pain I had caused.
As we cuddled together, enveloped in the warmth of each other's embrace, Jasmine's words hung in the air like a whisper of hope in the darkness. I pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, savoring the sweetness of the moment.
"It does feel that way, doesn't it?" I murmured softly, my heart swelling with a mixture of love and uncertainty. "But sometimes, fate can be a cruel mistress."
Jasmine nestled closer to me, seeking solace in my arms. "As long as we have each other, we can face whatever challenges come our way," she whispered, her voice tinged with quiet determination.
I held her tightly, cherishing the feeling of her presence beside me. Despite the uncertainties that lay ahead, I knew that as long as we remained together, we could weather any storm that fate threw our way.
With a satisfied smile, I bask in the feeling of accomplishment. Everything is falling into place just as I had planned. My manuscript is finally complete, filled with the happy ending I've been dreaming of for so long. Sending it off to the publisher fills me with excitement and anticipation for its upcoming release. The thought of seeing my book on shelves next year is exhilarating, and I can hardly contain my anticipation. This is just the beginning of my journey as an author, and I can't wait to see where it takes me.
"Thank you for everything, Jungkook."
"Even if you need to murder everyone to protect me, I was blessed," she said, her voice muffled against my chest.
I felt my heart skip a beat, a cold knot forming in the pit of my stomach. How could she know? How long had she been aware of my sinister actions?
"How... how do you..." I stammered, unable to form coherent sentences as panic consumed me.
Jasmine pulled back slightly, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made me squirm. "I know from the beginning, Jungkook," she confessed, her voice tinged with a mixture of amusement and something darker.
My mind reeled as I tried to make sense of her words. From the beginning? Had she been onto me since the start? The realization sent a chill down my spine, and I struggled to maintain my composure.
"You... you knew?" I managed to choke out, my voice barely above a whisper.
She nodded slowly, a sly smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Start from the first day I was here. I know you've been obsessed with me."
Her words hit me like a freight train, knocking the breath out of my lungs. Obsessed? Had I been so transparent in my desires? I felt a surge of panic and disbelief coursing through me, mingled with a strange sense of admiration for her perceptiveness.
"But... why?" I blurted out, my mind still grappling with the revelation.
As Jasmine's words sank in, I felt a cold dread settle in the pit of my stomach. How had I been so blind? How had she seen through my carefully constructed facade from the very beginning?
"I... I don't understand," I stammered, my mind reeling with disbelief.
Jasmine's laughter cut through the air like a knife, sending shivers down my spine. "Oh, Jungkook," she taunted, her voice dripping with malice. "You were so focused on playing the game that you never realized you were just a pawn in mine."
The weight of her words bore down on me like a crushing weight, suffocating me with the realization of my own naivety. I had thought I was the one pulling the strings, but in reality, I had been nothing more than a puppet dancing to her tune.
"But... why?" I managed to choke out, desperation creeping into my voice.
Jasmine's smile twisted into a sinister grin as she leaned in closer, her eyes burning with a dark intensity. "Because, Jungkook," she whispered, her breath hot against my ear, "I wanted to see how far you would go for me. And now, here we are."
A sense of utter betrayal washed over me as the truth of her words sunk in. I had sacrificed everything for her, only to realize that I had been played from the very beginning.
"I trusted you," I whispered, my voice hollow with despair.
Jasmine's grin widened, a cruel mockery of the affectionate smiles she had once bestowed upon me. "And that, Jungkook," she murmured, her voice dripping with venom, "was your first mistake."
"Why?"
"I want someone who can help me. Kill someone for me."
My heart pounded in my chest as Jasmine's words echoed in my mind. "Kill for her?" The thought sent a chill down my spine, but I couldn't deny the twisted logic behind her request. After all, I had already crossed lines I never thought I would in my desperate attempts to protect her.
"But... I can't," I protested weakly, my voice barely above a whisper.
Jasmine's eyes gleamed with a dangerous intensity as she leaned in closer, her breath hot against my skin. "Oh, but you can, Jungkook," she whispered, her words sending shivers down my spine. "You've already proven that you're willing to do anything for me. What's one more sin in the grand scheme of things?"
Her words cut through me like a knife, slicing through the last shreds of my moral compass. I knew I should resist, should turn away from the darkness that threatened to consume me, but the pull of Jasmine's influence was too strong to ignore.
I felt a cold dread settle in the pit of my stomach as I realized the gravity of Jasmine's threat. She held the power to destroy everything I held dear, and if I didn't comply with her demands, there was no telling what horrors awaited me.
With a heavy heart, I nodded slowly, resigning myself to the darkness that awaited. In that moment, I knew that I had become a slave to Jasmine's will, bound by the chains of my own making. And as I stared into the abyss of my own soul, I knew that there was no turning back from the path I had chosen.

The next morning, I woke up and found Jasmine sleeping beside me. My heart sank as the events of the previous night flooded back to me. I hoped desperately that it was all just a terrible dream, but deep down, I knew it was real.
As I gazed at my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but question how I had fallen into Jasmine's trap so easily. Was it simply because she was beautiful? Or was there something more sinister at play?
With a heavy sigh, I admitted to myself that perhaps we were indeed perfect for each other, but in the most twisted and dangerous of ways.
Emerging from the bathroom, I was greeted by the sight of police officers surrounding my bedroom, their stern faces betraying no hint of mercy. Jasmine stood among them, her expression one of smug satisfaction.
"Jeon Jungkook. You are under arrest," one of the officers declared, and I felt the weight of his words like a physical blow.
Confusion and disbelief swirled within me as I stared at Jasmine, searching for answers that would never come. But all she offered in return was a silent smirk, her eyes gleaming with malice.
In that moment, I realized that it was truly over for me. My life as I knew it had come crashing down, and there was no escaping the consequences of my actions.
