David's pov

I groaned as I put my head in my hands. I was in my computer room and all of my monitors where displaying the same video. Luciel had turned himself in to the police and he was arrested for assisting a terrorist.

I was planning on going to question but I guess now I have to pay a visit to the prison. How lovely.

My phone ringing broke into my thoughts and I picked it up not looking at caller id. "Boss I mean this in the most respectful way I can. Get your ass over here before I throw myself out the window and plummet to sweet relief." Mackenzie said.

"What?" I asked confused. "You have a visitor and she refuses to leave until she talks to you. I tried to tell her I would deliver your message but she won't listen." Mackenzie explained. I sighed. "Alright me and Lui will be there in a few." I sighed and got off.

I left the room and went to the living room where I told Lui what was going on. We walked to the garage together and jumped in my Ferrari.

Me and Lui stepped out of the elevator together and Mackenzie nodded her head towards the little waiting area on the other side of the room.

The familiar bleach blond hair caught my attention and Elise turned and gave me a stunning white smile. Lui grumbled something I couldn't hear and went over to stand next to Mackenzie while I walked over to greet my guest.

"David! Or should I say Daithi De Nogla." She said whispering the last part so only we could hear. Fuck, I had hoped she hadn't remembered that. "W-what?" I asked faking surprise. "I have no idea what your talking about. I hear Daith De Nogla has a six pack. I hear he's shredded."

"Oh I'm sure you are." She said flirtatiously as she placed a hand on my chest. "Since you saved me three times now I'd like to know if you'd come to dinner with me?" She asked as she batted her eyes. "I'm sure me and Lui would love to." The flirty smiled slid off her face and she looked surprised but I couldn't figure out why.

"L-Lui?" "Yeah he helped save you to. I just figured he was invited to." "Oh. Sure he can come." She said frowning.

Lui's pov

"What does he even see in her!?" I ranted to Mackenzie. Both of us where currently bonding over our shared hatred for the blond reporter. "It's the blond hair. Always gets the guys. I personally prefer my brown hair over blond any day." Mackenzie agreed.

She had immediately picked up on my crush and, after much denial, got me to admit it. We had both launched into a rant about her after exchanging phone numbers. "That girl has no patience. Every five seconds she would ask when you guys would get here. I swear I was considering how long it would take me to suffocate her with those decorative pillows."

"Ow. The ones with the beads on them?" "Those are the ones." She confirmed. "The imprints of them might actually make her more attractive." I said and we snickered together. "I wonder why she called him here?" I asked. "Maybe it was to- Oh hey boss me and Lui where just talking about all the stuff we sell." Mackenzie said as David walked over with Elise.

"I'm sure." David said as he eyed us both. "Well it was lovely seeing you Elise. I'll pick you up at five tonight." David said politely. My head turned so quickly I thought it might snap off and hit poor David in the head. What that(that's on purpose.)!?

Elise smiled up at him and bid him a dew. Me and Mackenzie fake gagged and she slid me a scrap of paper. I opened it and saw "I'll kill her if you want." I giggled. David turned and squinted his eyes at both of us.

"Alright Lui come on. We have to get ready for tonight." "We?" "Did I stutter? Elise invited us to dinner for helping her out." David said and gave me a meaningful look. Oh shit. She knows. I sighed and gave a look to Mackenzie.

Before I could walk away Mackenzie grabbed that back of my shirt. "Give it to her tonight. Protect your man." She said and gave me a hug. "That's and I will." I said and smiled at her. I got in the elevator next to David and refused to look at him. "So you and Mackenzie?" He said suggestively and I almost choked on my own saliva.

"WHAT!"

The whole ride home I spent explaining that I didn't like Mackenzie and that we where just friends but I could tell he didn't believe me.

I locked myself in the bedroom and refused to let David in. After a few minutes of banging on the door he gave up. I sighed and got on YouTube and began to play a song I liked. I pressed I wish by Cher Lloyd and began to look through my clothes.

After digging though my clothes I decided on some grey sweatpants and a black shirt that said "bite me" in white bold letters. I then danced around a bit before deciding to let David in. "Why'd you do that?" David asked. I just ignored him and started watching TV.

After a half a hour David came out and my heart gave a painful flutter. He has his hair in a cute messy style, slight stubble, and as he got closer smelt like cologne. He wore a black jacket with silver leaves and birds scattered here and there with a white under shirt, and a black bow tie and pants.

"Go get dressed." David said as he sat down next to me. "I am." I replied. His eyes ran over my body slowly and I held back a shiver. "Lui you are not going like that." "Ha but I am." "Lui-" "I'm going like this and you can't stop me." I said stubbornly.

Me and David only spoke a little after that. Just the basics. "Can you grab that." "We're leaving soon." "Sure you don't want to change." Even on the way to pick up Elise we barley spoke.

David went to go get her when we pulled up to her driveway as I moved in the back. My night as a third wheel was about to began. When Elise and David came into sight I shot up. Fuck her and her womanly charms. Her bleach blond hair was curled and pinned back so it fell elegantly around her face, she had a light dusting of makeup on but still looked stunning. But it was her damn dress that made me really regretting not getting dressed up. It's was a black dress with black leaves on the sleeves and had a bear spot in the center of her chest. As she walked it swept the floors and it had a slit in the side which showed off tan legs and her black high heels. The dress hugged her in all the right places. It made her breasts bigger and her hips more defined.

If I wasn't gay I'd probably be drooling but instead I took a quick picture and sent it to Mackenzie. She replied straight away with a gasp emoji.

We had been here for 33 minutes and 28 seconds not like I was counting or anything. While I had made it my personal goal to not get pushed out of conversations Elise had made it her personal goal to make sure I didn't even get a word in. Her and David just kept talking and talking and to make it worse I kept getting dirty looks for my clothes.

"Looks like someone's a third wheel." A voice behind me said. Turning I saw a waiter. "This night is not going how I planned it." I admitted. The guys name tag read Manic. "You get stood up?" He asked. "Nope. I just thought I stood a chance." I said as I placed my head on my hand. "Hey the nights not over." Manic said as he patted my back.

The night continued on the same way. David and Elise in their own little world while I just got dirty looks from the city's richest people. After a fight over who would pay, David ended up paying for everything in the end, we headed back to Elise's house to drop her off.

Before she left she invited us, though really it was more of David, over for a dip in her pool in a few days. Of course David accepted without consulting me and I inwardly groaned.

When we got back to the hide out I decided I would sleep on the couch though David couldn't figure out why. I barley slept, I was trying to come up with a plan to get me out of being a third wheel again.

Finally it hit me. I know just what I'll do. Karma's a bitch David.
