Hongjoong's pov
Once Mingi and I were dressed, we left his base. Mingi led me to his car and held onto my thigh as he drove us to a nearby breakfast restaurant. I smiled at the contact and played with his fingers.
"I know you're newly beginning to get back your memories, but we should get Yeri back soon. As much as she loves her uncles, she should be with us," Mingi says, kissing my forehead at a red light.
"I know, but what if it isn't safe for her to be with us?" I asked, my gaze lowered.
"We'll protect her; we always will."
A few weeks after getting Yeri back, I had been collecting memories like Pokémon. They just kept coming one after another and another.
I didn't know how to tell him, but one morning it became tiring trying to hide the truth, so I just gave in and told him.
"Hey, Mingi?" I asked, looking at the taller. He hummed in response and sipped his coffee.
"What if most of my memories are back, and I just-"
"Are they?!" Mingi asked quickly, his eyes wide as he looked at me. I nodded silently, not knowing anything else to tell him besides the truth.
"Did your feelings come back with them?" Mingi asked hopefully. My cheeks flushed red, and I shrugged.
"They have a bit, but I'm a little unsure if it's the previous feelings or if I've begun falling for you again," I confessed, feeding Yeri a bite of her breakfast.
"Holy shit... so, you love me?" Mingi asked, a soft smile on his lips.
My eyes widened hearing Yeri repeating, "shit, shit, shit."
"Yeri! Please don't say that yet!" I asked, filling her mouth with another bite of her breakfast to distract her.
"Yes, yes I do, but right now I'm gonna wring your neck like a chicken," I said, smiling widely and handing Yeri her plastic child's fork.
"Uh oh," Mingi mumbled sitting his coffee down and jumping from his seat. I sighed and shook my head.
"Papa is funny, isn't he?" I said, smiling at my daughter and pinching her little cheek. She smiled and nodded.
"Is it safe to come back, Yer?" Mingi asked, peeking his head around the corner. Yeri laughed and smiled at him.
"Papa!"
"Yeri!"
I smiled widely at their interaction and waved Mingi inside. Mingi came back into the kitchen and finished his coffee, resting his hand on my thigh.
"Breakfast was good, Angel," Mingi said, kissing my cheek sweetly. I smiled and pecked his lips before turning to Yeri.
"Kiss?" Yeri asked. I nodded and kissed her forehead.
While Yeri napped, Mingi and I were in the living room talking, a baby monitor sat on the table in front of us.
"You love me?" Mingi asked, gently holding my hands in his as I sat on his lap.
"I do. I think I have known for a couple weeks now, but didn't know how to tell you until I just couldn't hold it in anymore," I said, blushing as I looked down at our hands.
"I love you too; you know I do," Mingi said, lifting my chin and kissing my lips. I happily kissed back, lifting my arms to wrap them around his shoulders.
Mingi's hands dropped to my thighs, softly caressing them before squeezing them.
I groaned into the kiss, Mingi taking the chance to slip his tongue into the kiss, deepening it. I heard little sounds coming from the monitor, making me separate out lips to turn my neck and see the small screen.
Yeri was sat up in her bed, babbling and talking away to herself as she played with her stuffed lamb. I smiled at the cute scene and tapped Mingi- who was sucking a hickey on my neck.
"Stop bruising me and look at our baby! Look how cute!" I exclaimed, picking up the monitor to show him. Yeri looked around as though she could hear me after I spoke.
"Dada?" She asked. She looked around before finding the other monitor watching herself, picking it up and holding it close to her little face.
"I'll get her," Mingi said, kissing my cheek and sitting me on the couch beside himself. I smiled down at the monitor and watched as Mingi soon appeared in frame and showed Yeri the button to talk.
"Dada! Love you!" Yeri exclaimed into the mic, sounding proud that she got some new words right. I smiled softly as my eyes watered a little. I pushed my button and said the same to her.
"I love you, Yeri," I said. Yeri giggled and let Mingi carry her out of her bedroom.
"Hi lovebug, have you woken up?" I asked, which led her to nod and rub her eyes.
She reached for me, then laid against my chest. I smiled and gently ran my fingers through her dark hair.
"Someone's still sleepy," I cooed, now caressing her cheek to soothe her back to sleep.
"You're so good with her," Mingi spoke softly, looking at us lovingly. I smiled and noticed she fell asleep on me.
"Yeosang would let me babysit her every Friday for their date night, which now I guess was their report back to you?" I said, smiling still as I looked down at my daughter.
"Yeah, that's when they're to report their findings. She really does love you a lot; I mean, you heard her earlier," Mingi said. I smiled and nodded.
"She's such a little sweetheart," I said. I smiled still as I heard soft snores come from her lips.
"She takes it after you," Mingi said, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and kissing my forehead. I smiled and laid my head against him.
