With You
It was probably around 7 in the evening, that Scar hoisted himself up from being in Travis' embrace-with much difficultly. After the smaller boy's body heat created an insulating blanket around him, the relatively cold air of the room bit into his skin, making him shiver.
Travis opened his arms wide, as if calling him back in his hold. Scar smiled at him lovingly. His mother was too busy to even come and check on him everyday, but Scar did exactly that and it kind of turned into a habit. Meeting him, kissing him, cuddling him, sleeping with him - no, sleeping as in sleeping, where you close your eyes, relax your body and just...uh..sleep. Scar gave an apologetic smile, and leaned towards him.
"I've already disturbed you for too long, Mey. You need to rest now. And as long as I know, kissing doesn't count as resting. So..." He chuckled observing the addressed boy turn beet red.
"I think I shou-"
"Oh, Mr. Ellman! Good that you're still here. I've got some good news!" Mr. Williams said, after peeking from the corner of the door. "Oh sorry, I called several times, but I assume you were busy. So, I was checking if you were alright."
"Good news?" Scar asked quietly, an eager expression laced over his face.
"Yes, Mr. Ellman. According to the reports, apparently, Mr. Meyers has been making excellent progress in these two months. And in a week, he'll be good as new! So, the question is, you can either let him stay here before he gets better or you can take him home while he recovers. Because the major damages are healed, and now, he just needs rest." Mr. Willams smiled, tapping his fingers over the bedside table.
"I'll take him home." Scar blurted without a hint of hesitation or consideration. Travis looked surprised and turned towards him, trying to comprehend his words.
"Figured." Mr. Williams smirked, yes, he smirked. "But, what about his mom? Will she let you take him to your home?"
Scar sighed. He hadn't thought it over, he just said what he would like and what would be the best for Travis. Sure enough, why would his mom let him keep Travis?
"I'll talk to her." Hell if he knew what on earth will they talk about, but he will make sure that he stays with Travis.
"Good. Well, I will take my leave then." Mr. Williams left the room, leaving the two boys in a frenzy of thoughts.

Scar had a talk with his parents, and as he expected, they readily allowed him to stay with him.
And he talked with Mrs. Meyers too.
Scar thought it would be difficult. He thought Travis' mom would put up a decent fight to not let her son stay with him. But, it was surprisingly easy, too easy for his liking. He did ask Mrs. Meyers if he could take care of Travis for a week, and she just nodded. Scar thought it was just his imagination and asked again. This time, he got an even more annoyed tsk, and something along the lines of "did i not say yes? I'm already working literally the whole day to meet his school expenses and then there's the daily needs. Just do what you want. "
It surprised him how someone's mother can be indifferent as she was. She came to check on Travis the first day, and cried when the doctor said he will probably never be able to speak again. Scar thought Mey was loved by his mom. He believed that his mom loved him and brushed off the feeling that she doesn't when she never came in the hospital again.
But he couldn't now.
Instead of feeling hatred towards Travis' mother, he felt an insatiable hatred towards himself. He was filled with shame, disgust and hatred towards himself. He made Travis' life a living hell when he was already suffering from his own problems-he just added more to it. He was the reason Travis was in the hospital right now.
Scar felt like jumping off a cliff and ending his existence; then he thought of Travis. Yes, he was selfish. He couldn't just leave the boy alone after all this. He couldn't just leave without carrying out all his million plans to make Mey happy. And he couldn't just leave him alone with his sorry excuse of a mother. He just pushed the useless thoughts in the exteme back of his head.
He sighed. Fixing his shirt, Scar gently opened the door of the room. Travis was lost in his own thoughts and didn't notice his presence until he snapped his fingers in front of him.
Startled, he scurried closer to the headboard, pulling up his knees in front of him. Scar just laughed at his cute behaviour. Just when he was about to give a chaste peck on his lips, Mr. Williams entered with a couple of knocks.
"You're here, my boy! Are you taking him home?" He asked with a bright smile.
"Yes." Scar answered, kinda pissed off that he ruined the perfect moment.
"Oh, he needs some help, don't let him walk yet." Mr Williams said, and turned probably to call for assistance, but Scar stopped him.
"Thank you, but no need. I'll just," He leaned down and scooped the boy up in his arms-bridal style, and it was alarmingly surprising how easily he did that. Travis welped silently and wrapped his arms around his neck like a parasite on its host. Not that Scar had anything to complain. On the contrary, it just gave his ego a boost on how Travis clung on him.
"Oh I see. Well, that's fine too." Mr Williams gave a hearty laugh. "Have a nice day boys, and hope to see you again-no, not in the hospital, I'm not that cruel."
Scar just rolled his eyes, looking at the back of the retreating man. He turned to look at Travis, and smiled at the boy in his arms.
"Let's go home, Mey. With me." And he placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
The day couldn't just get more perfect.
