Warmth

It had almost become a routine. For almost two months.

Scar visits Travis, each and everyday. Everyday, bringing different things to entertain him-flowers, candies, paper flowers and birds, and sometimes just himself alone. Travis enjoyed his company and Scar too, liked his company more than he should. Each day, maybe knowingly or unknowingly, their little touches left tingles in their wake.

Scar went that day too. His mom stopped asking him where he went after Travis' mom explained it to her. However, she still yelled at him for wasting his time and visiting Travis everyday. Travis' mom didn't know, who crashed into her son, and Scar liked to keep it that way. If she did, she wouldn't have let him go near her son. And Scar hated even thinking about it.

He closed the door behind him and these days, he doesn't even ask for permission or for Travis to request him. He straightaway makes himself comfortable beside Travis and they soak in each other's presence for the rest of the day. With Travis, Scar never felt the need of talking necessary. With him, it didn't matter if they talked or not. After spending half of his time with him, it didn't matter to him that Travis couldn't speak. Speaking was the least of their concern. A thousand words unspoken, yet their eyes said everything. Their actions-which spoke louder than words-were enough to fill up that void of no words.

They were resting in each other's arms like usual. After a long day of incessant stress, Scar came to Travis for a tint of peace. Travis craved the warmth of the taller boy, and somehow they fit like the perfect match.

Scar was looking around the room in a desultory manner, resting on not one thing for too long. Their bodies were tangled with each other, when a tap on his chest made him look down. Travis gazed at him as if he wanted to say something.

"Hmmn?"

Travis just watched him.

"Oh wait. " And he grabbed the notepad and the pencil on the bedside table and handed it over to Travis. He smiled, taking them from him, their hands unknowingly brushing.

He scribbled something and turned it towards him.

i think i can go back to school tomorrow

"Really?" Scar read the sentence and asked.

doctor said i can't because i still need to heal, but I'm missing classes

"You don't have to. I'll bring you all the assignments you need. And we'll do them together." Scar suggested. "And not only him, I don't want you to go to school either until you're fully healed."

you don't have to do that much

"Even if I want to?"

but I don't want you to feel burdened

"You really....for god's sake!" Scar sighed, frustrated and lifted both of his hands to cup his cheeks. "Look here, you idiot. Would I have come here if you have been a burden? No. Would I have started working part-time to earn money and buy you things by myself if I felt that you're a burden? No. Would I go against my own mom just to see you if I felt that you're a burden? No. Why the fuck do you think you're a burden when I like yo-" and he shut his mouth closed before finishing.

Travis' eyes widened, and he remained frozen in his place.

"Yo-your presence, I mean. I-I like your presence. Like close friends. Yeah. Y-you like me being here too, r-right?" Scar mumbled, wrecking his brain for words to form meaningful sentences. Travis nodded weakly, the words swimming in his head. He felt happy that Scar liked his presence and thought of him as a close friend. At least it was more than nothing. He was happy with this.

Hours passed away, when the blushing boys looked at the time.

"Shit. How come it's already 7:48? I don't wanna go home...." He trailed off.

Travis tugged at his sleeves, and Scar turned towards him. Both of them gazed at each other, looking in the other's eyes. Travis leaned closer and closer and Scar waited, holding his breath. Unconsciously, his hands made their way around the smaller boy's slender frame and pulled him even closer to his body. Travis lightly rested his hands on his firm shoulders, their faces only centimetres apart. And just before Scar thought that their lips would touch, Travis tenderly rubber his nose over his and pulled back, a light pink shade dusting his cheeks. Scar blinked a few times, trying to calm his thudding heart.

Drunk in his scent, Scar inched closer. Travis had not moved away, his eyes still locked with Scar's piercing blue ones. Their breaths mingled with each other, and Scar could smell the milky and honey scent coming off from the smaller boy. It drove him crazy, lighting a fire inside him, making him want to devour the boy in front of him. If only Travis had any idea about his sinful desires.

Travis could feel his hot breath brushing over his lips, which shivered in delight. Just before their lips were one millimeter apart, Scar's phone rang loudly, echoing through the room and startling both of them.

Scar pulled away with a click of his tongue and fumbled with his phone before pressing on the green button, not checking the caller id.

"What?" He lashed out, annoyed.

"Keep your voice down, young man. Do you have any idea what the time is?"

"We still haven't read about her in school, so no."

"Very funny, Scar. Be back in fifteen minutes, or no dinner."

"Mom-"

But the beep signalled, his mom hung up.

"Why is everyone so hell bent to keep me away from you?" He threw his hands up in the air, as Travis let an embarrassed smile creep up his face.

"Did I say that out loud?"

Travis nodded, still smiling. Scar flashed through last minute's happenings, and for the umpteenth time, his face turned fifty shades redder. He was going to kiss Travis. And he would've too, if his mom wouldn't have called. He licked his lips, imagining what would it like to have those soft lips placed over his. The thought alone was enough to send shivers down his spine.

"Ahhh holy hell, I'm going home. You, take rest." He stood up abruptly, surprising Travis and put on his jacket. Before Travis could even comprehend what was happening, Scar placed a chaste kiss on his left cheek and dashed out of the room with lightening speed.

Travis ran his fingers over the place Scar decided to suddenly kiss, in a trance.

They didn't know what was happening, but they felt a strange yet good feeling of warmth, that drove them crazy.

"What are you doing to me, Mey?"
