Mean's POV
I had planned to wait until Plan fell asleep and then I would go and check out the other room. Unfortunately I fell asleep myself.
When I woke up, it was morning and Plan was gone from my bed.
I panicked.
I hoped that he did not leave my unit without as much as a good bye.
I walked out of my room and found him busy cooking something in my kitchen.
"Good morning!" he greeted me with a bright smile. "I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty of cooking some omelettes."
"Not at all," I replied. "Smells good!"
"Do you like having omelettes for breakfast?" he asked.
"Yes, I do," I replied.
I did not want to let him know that omelette was a pretty heavy breakfast for me. I usually only had toast and coffee or a bowl of cereals for breakfast.
"I'm just finishing the second one and then we can have breakfast together," he announced.
"While you're doing that I will prepare coffee for us," I said.
"I don't drink coffee but thank you," he said.
Oops I should have asked first if he drank coffee.
"What would you like to drink then?" I asked.
"A tall glass of orange juice, if you have some," he said while flipping the second omelette on the frying pan.
"A tall glass of orange juice coming up," I said, walking over to the refrigerator and taking out a carton of orange juice.
I poured some of the orange juice into a tall glass and placed it on the table. Then I went over to the corner of the kitchen counter where my electric kettle was sitting and plugged it into the nearby outlet.
Soon the water was boiling and I poured it into my coffee mug.
Plan had already placed the two plates with an omelette on each one on the breakfast table.
He picked up his glass of orange juice and walked towards me while sipping from it. He watched me as I dropped some of the instant coffee crystals into my coffee mug and stirred it.
"Do you drink it with cream and sugar?" he asked.
"No, I prefer my coffee black, no sugar, no cream," I replied.
"Duly noted," he muttered to himself as he walked back to the breakfast table with me.
As we ate our breakfast, he asked, "By the way, did you check out the other room for ghosts?"
"No," I confessed with a sheepish smile. "I fell asleep and didn't wake up till morning."
"I'm scared to go back to that room," he announced.
Wait, why did he say that? Was he expecting me to invite him to spend another night with me?
"Umm ... " I had to be careful and think hard about what I was going to say next. If I asked him to stay for another night and he rejected me I would feel kinda stupid for even asking.
He raised an eyebrow at me when I did not respond to his statement right away.
"I assure you that there are no ghosts in my unit," I finally said.
"You don't believe in ghosts?" he asked.
"No," I replied emphatically. "There's no such things as ghosts."
We ate the rest of our breakfast in silence and then he stood up saying, "I will take care of clearing the table and washing the dishes."
"Leave them," I said, "I'm just gonna load them in the dishwasher. And thank you for cooking such a lovely breakfast."
"Thank you for letting me cook it," he replied. "I'm gonna call my building manager now and ask him if it's okay to go back to my unit."
"You wanna spend another night with me?" I asked without thinking.
I cursed myself silently for asking such an impulsive question and having to wait in agony for his rejection.
