Chapter 29: Broken Friendship
*Laurance's POV*
~7 Days Later~
It's been a week now. Garroth has been going to chat with Gene, every now and again. Not that I mind, or anything...
Okay, I'm completely jealous.
But, it's okay. I trust Garroth with my life. I know that he wouldn't do anything stupid.
Okay, that last part may be a lie.
But, I'll force myself to believe it! Garroth is special to me, and I love him with all of my heart. There is nothing in the world, that can make me change my mind about that. Not even stupid Gene!
"Hey, Laurance! I'm going to Gene's place, I'll be back later!" Garroth said to me, as he strolled through the living room.
I looked over to him, jumping off the couch. I ran to in front of him, wrapping my arms around his waist. Garroth cocked his head at me, raising an eyebrow. I chuckled a little, pecking a kiss on his lips.
"I love you, Garroth~" I sang, kissing him once more. I gave him a small smile.
Garroth rolled his eyes, smiling back at me. "I l-love you too, Laurance."
"Alright, Love. I'll see you later." I gave Garroth one last kiss, before letting him go.
Garroth nodded to me, as he went over to the front door. His cheeks were pink, and his smile was wide. He left out the door, waving to me. I smiled bigger, heading back over to my couch.
I felt a buzzing in my pocket, and I realized I had a message. I pulled out my phone, checking who it was from.
Dante..?
Dante: I have important news for you and Garroth! Can't talk about it today, but can we meet up tomorrow? At mine and Travis' place?
Big news? Like what?
You: Yeah, sure. I'll tell Garroth later. He isn't home right now.
Dante: Where is he?
You: Out with a friend.
Dante: Friend..?
Dante is so damn nosy.
You: Garroth's hanging out with Gene.
Dante: Gene?! As in, my brother Gene?!
You: Uh, yeah. The only Gene we know.
Dante: Is Gene back in town?
You: From my knowledge, he moved onto the street a little over a week ago.
Dante: I see...
Dante: Sorry to bother you, Laurance. I'll see you tomorrow, then?
You: Sure.
I put my phone back in my pocket, running a hand through my hair. I sighed softly, leaning back on the couch.
I wonder what Dante wants to talk about...

*Garroth's POV*
"I've been having a lot of fun hanging out with you Gene," I admitted, as we were walking back to my place.
"Oh?" Gene smiled at me.
"Yup. To be honest, I was a little nervous about talking to you again. But, I'm glad to see that you have changed a lot since when we were in school," I smiled back at him.
We made it back to my house, and Gene stopped beside me. He looked me over, and I tilted my head at him.
"Are you okay?" Gene asked me, making me bite my lip.
"Of course I am okay."
"I see... Hey, Garroth..," Gene got closer to me, staring into my eyes.
"Y-yes, Gene?" I started to get uncomfortable with how close he was to me. I folded my arms over my chest, biting my lip harder.
"Do you..," Gene trailed off, his face inches apart from mine.
That's when I realized what he was trying to do.
I backed away from Gene, glaring at him.
"What do you think you're doing?!" I snapped, causing Gene to smirk.
"Damn, you've gotten even more fiesty, Ro'Meave."
He called me-
"I guess I was completely wrong about you, Gene," I growled a little, on the verge of tears.
Gene cocked his head, his smirk staying. I hated that smirk.
"What in the name of Irene are you talking about, Ro'Meave?"
"You're doing it again!" That's when everything started to piece together in my mind. Small tears formed in my eyes. "You never liked me, did you?"
"Huh?"
"The reason you call me Ro'Meave, and called me it when we were in school. You just liked me before, because I am a Ro'Meave!" I snapped, storming up to my front door.
"That's not why-"
"Don't come back here. I don't want you to be around me or my boyfriend ever again. Laurance was right, you haven't changed one bit!"
I blocked out anything Gene said, slamming the door hard behind me. Tears streamed down my face, and I checked the time on my phone.
8:35
We were out so late...
Where would Laurance be at this time?
In his room...
*Laurance's POV*
I laid back on my bed, rubbing my eyes. I shouldn't have stayed up so late last night.
There was a small knock at my room door. "L-Laurance..?"
"Door's open," I answered.
I sat up on my bed, as the door opened. Garroth stood in the doorway, puffy-eyed, with tears streaming down his face.
"Garroth? Are you alright? What's wrong?"
Garroth walked over to me slowly, wiping his eyes. "Go on, say it."
"Say what?"
"That you were right, and I was wrong. How you called it, and you told me so," Garroth cried.
I sighed, patting the area next to me. Garroth sniffled, sitting beside me. I put my arm around him, pulling him close to me. I quietly shushed him, laying my head on top of his.
"Gene?" I guessed, causing Garroth to lightly nod his head.
"Y-you were r-right..."
"It's alright, Love. I'm here for you."
"C-can I stay w-with you t-tonight?" Garroth partially-whispered.
I felt heat rise up to my face, and I bit my lip. I lifted my head off of his face, he was just as red.
"Really?" I asked Garroth, earning another nod. "Of course, Love. You can stay with me."
"T-thank you..."
I moved my arm off of Garroth, laying back down on the bed. He wiped his once more, and I gestured him to lay next to me. Garroth obliged, and snuggled close to me.
I wrapped my arms around his back, moving closer to him as well. He buried his face into my chest, something I loved when he did it.
"I love you, Beautiful. I won't let him, or anyone, hurt you anymore."
"I love you, Laurance." Garroth looked up at me, his face even more red than before. "L-Laurance?"
"What's up, Love?"
"Y-you're...s-shirt...less..," Garroth muttered.
Oh yeah...
"Oh? Is that a problem, Love?"
"N-no..," he mumbled, moving his face back into my chest.
I brushed his hair out of his face, kissing his forehead lightly.
I am going to kick Gene's-
"Laurance?" Garroth said my name, interrupting my thoughts.
"Yes, Beautiful?"
"Don't hurt Gene, okay?"
"Why?"
"Because...just trust me, alright?"
"Okay, baby," I kissed his forehead again.
"B-baby? That's a new one," Garroth giggled a little.
I live for this boy's laugh!
"I'm experimenting," I put my chin lightly on the top of his head. "But, I won't hurt Gene. Just for you, sweetie."
"I love you."
"Not as much as I love you."
"Are you seriously going to fight me, on who loves each other more?"
"If it comes down to it."
Garroth giggled again, looking back up at me. He wrapped his arms around the back of my neck, pulling me into a passionate kiss. I instantly kissed him back, holding him tighter.
Garroth pulled away from me, face red and smirking.
"Do I win?"
"Fine, Love. You can win," I rolled my eyes. Garroth silently went 'yes', burying his face back into my chest. "For now."
"You wish!"
