Chapter 16: Telling Aphmau
*Laurance's POV*
I gripped Garroth's hand, holding it tightly. I could feel him shaking a bit, and I was trying my best to calm him down. We stood in front of Aphmau's front door, and Garroth was definitely nervous.
"It's alright, love. She's your best friend," I assured him.
"She's not my best friend, you are. Aph's a close second, though." Garroth chuckled lightly. "But, that's not why I'm worried."
I let out a quiet sigh, looking down. I hated seeing him distraught or upset. Because, it hurts me as well.
"Can we talk about it later, love?" I asked, causing Garroth to look up at me. He nodded, putting on a smile. "There you are. I missed you."
I quickly kissed his cheek, before knocking on the door. I let my hand fall out of Garroth's grasp, once Aaron answered. He smiled at us.
"Hey, guys. Aph's upstairs. She'll be down in a minute or two. Feel free to sit in the Living Room until she comes down."
Garroth and I nodded in unison, walking inside. Aaron headed upstairs, and Garroth followed me into the Living Room. We sat on the couch, in an awkward silence.
Suddenly, Garroth's phone went off. His face lit up, once he saw the Caller ID, and he stood.
"It's Vylad. Hold on just a second, Laurance."
"Take your time."
Garroth nodded, walking out of the room.
*Garroth's POV*
"Hey, Vylad! Did you end up making it to...where were you going again?"
"I'm visiting Mom and Dad, Garroth!" Vylad giggled through the phone, and I smiled to myself. "But, yeah. I made it.
"Right, right. So, you're at Mommy and Dad's place?"
"Yup."
"Tell them I said hi."
"So, Garroth, what exactly did you want to talk about?"
I almost forgot. I'm supposed to tell Vylad about...Laurance and I.
I looked around the room, to make sure nobody else was around. I also made my voice lower.
"Vylad...I may, possibly, have a... boyfriend..," I was almost whispering.
"Wait, SERIOUSLY?!" Vylad shouted. I had to pull the phone away a little. "It's Laurance, right?!"
"Yes, shh!"
Vylad giggled a bit more. "Wait, why are you whispering?"
"Because I'm at Aphmau's house, and I don't want someone else overhearing."
"Oh, okay... So, how did your date go? Was it all romantic and cutsey~?"
I rolled my eyes. Vylad was always a sucker for overly-romantic moments. It was just his nature.
"Possibly..."
"AWWW! I've shipped you two, ever since you told me about your crush on him!" Vylad squealed. My smile grew. "You have to tell me all about it once I get back. Okay?"
"Alright."
"Yay! I have to go now, though. Talk to you later, big bro!"
"Bye, baby brother!"
I hung up, shoving my phone into my pocket. I walked back into the Living Room, to see Aphmau had joined Laurance on the couch. I took my original spot, waving to Aphmau.
"Garroth! I am so excited to hear everything!"
I nervously chuckled, and Laurance rubbed the back of his neck.
"Everything..?" He asked, biting his lip. Aphmau hurriedly nodded.
"Yup! In detail!"
Oh boy...
*Laurance's POV*
I told Aphmau about how mine and Garroth's date went. She listened intently, nodding along with each statement. She kept on a poker face, but I could tell she was having a hard time from smiling.
Once I told her about the dance and the kiss, I could tell she couldn't hold it in any longer. A giant smile appeared on her face, and she was practically jumping in her seat. Aphmau clapped her hands together, squealing lightly.
"You two are literally the cutest! You should be boyfriends already!" Aphmau squealed again. I looked at Garroth, who was blushing furiously. He was biting his lip, and looking down. I turned back to Aphmau, who seemed a bit confused. "What?"
"Yeah, about that..."
Aphmau took a second to catch on, but when she did...oh my Irene. Words cannot describe the amount of excitement she expressed. I covered my ears, Garroth doing the same.
"What is going on down here?" Aaron walked into the room, his arms crossed. I uncovered my ears, silently thanking Irene.
"AARON! GARROTH. AND. LAURANCE-" I clasped a hand over her mouth, shushing her. Aaron rose an eyebrow, and I nervously chuckled.
"I wouldn't want to stay in here, if I were you, Aaron. Just, trust me," I warned him. Aaron laughed, somewhat understanding what I meant. He headed back out the room.
"Aph, you cannot tell Aaron!" I snapped at her.
"Why not?" She innocently asked.
"Because, Garroth isn't comfortable with telling a bunch of people, yet. We want to start slow," I gestured to Garroth, whose blush had darkened. Aphmau nodded, smiling.
"Alright. I promise I won't tell Aaron. Or anyone else. You have my word." Aphmau crossed her finger over her heart.
"T-Thank y-you, A-Aph..," Garroth stuttered, smiling.
My Irene, why is he the cutest person ever?
*Garroth's POV*
We waved goodbye to Aphmau, starting to walk back to our house.
"Oh, Garroth! I forgot to tell you. My sister is coming up tomorrow!" Laurance remembered, stopping us.
"Cadenza? What for?"
"She just wants to visit."
"Oh, alright." I smiled at Laurance, continuing to walk down the street. We were about to reach our house, when my phone went off. I grabbed it, to see there was a text from Dante.
Dante: Garroth, you never answered me!
Oh, crap. I forgot to text him back!
You: Sorry, I forgot. Can we still come over?
Dante: I guess so. Don't expect any tacos, though. You missed your opportunity.
I laughed aloud, causing Laurance to raise his eyebrow at me.
"We should head to Dante and Travis' place."
Laurance nodded, following me as we walked to their house.
"Man, I can't believe summer is already over..," Laurance randomly stated. I nodded, as we turned a corner.
"Yeah, it's crazy to think fall is coming soon."
"Then after that, it's winter. And you know what that means?"
"What?" I turned around to face Laurance, who had a bright smile.
"I get to spend Christmas with the best boyfriend ever," he chimed, still holding his smile. I smiled back.
"I can't wait."
