I know he's annoying, but why didn't I bring him? I was just too embarrassed. Don't blame me, though! I've had, um, social issues since I ran from camp. All I've had were a driving ghoul and spooky scary skeletons for friends. It's been a little lonely and sad. Sorrowful even. But, when death became chained, and I could've got Bianca. She chose to move on away from me once again. But, I found Hazel. I love her. I want to protect her. I even had the embarrassing "talk" with Frank about her. Gods of Olympus, only Hazel.

Only Hazel, we're family. That word has tormented me for years. Family. My mom is dead, my sister is dead, my dad is the freakin' god of the dead, not to mention boss of death, and guess what? Hazel used to be dead. Absolutely sickening. It's all very depressing, actually.

That reminds me, Jason has been acting odd. He's been more polite, but distant. He knows something, something important and life changing. Something scarring. I hope to Hades throne that it doesn't have to do with death.

A wave in front of my face brings me back to reality.

"Nico? Nico." Hazel's been trying to get my attention.

"Yes?" I answer while putting her hand down with my pale fingers. She tucks some of her hair behind her ear while swinging her arm, fingers linked with Frank's.

"We wanted to know if you wanted to go to the beach with us. I just thought because we don't have a war or curse to worry about we could have fun. Like sibling bonding." She suggests. I lock eyes with Frank and he smiles kindly. I really don't want to go... Maybe for a second, to satisfy Hazel. To make her happy.

"Uh, sure?" She looked ecstatic.

"You don't have to if you don't want to."

"No, I'll go."

"Great, we'll meet you at the beach." Meet?... Oh no. I don't think I even own swim trunks. This was probably a mistake.
