If Only They Hadn't Come

"You have to come to the party Reyna!" Hazel pleads to her older friend.

"Why?" Reyna groans closing her locker.

"I want a friend to come with me!"

"You hate parties Levesque."

"No I don't! I- I-"

"You want to check out Frank who is going." Reyna says bluntly. Hazel blushes and stares at the ground.

"So will you come?"

"Ugh. You owe me."

Reyna sighs as she glances up at the large mansion. McLean Mansion.

Naturally when Piper McLean's parents left for the weekend the cheerleader invited a "small" group of friends over.

Reyna is soon dragged in by an excited Hazel. They are greeted at the door by the infamous Stoll brothers who hand them a drink each. The girls take them and wind through the party. They soon find their group friends.

"Hey," Hazel greets. Reyna gives them a nod in greeting. Annabeth smiles at her and take a sip from her cup. Percy looks up from the drink he frowns upon to say hey. With them is also Frank who quickly takes another sip of his drink trying to ignore Hazel's outfit. A glare from his side helps. Nico di Angelo had surprisingly agreed to come. Well he came to watch over his younger sister...

"THIS BOY IS ON FIRE!" A voice cries. All eyes turn to one Leo Valdez who is standing on a table a sparkler in one hand and a cup of alcohol in the other.

Who the hell would be stupid enough give the kid alcohol? Reyna thinks.

He spins and splashes his drink on a poor unfortunate soul.

"Valdez!"

"Shit! Come on I didn't mean it Castellan!" Leo runs off an angry drunk jock on his tail. He runs straight into a girl Reyna doesn't recognize who proclaims her love for him before running off.

Stupid drunks, Reyna thinks. they're almost as bad as Mr. D (the laziest teacher ever).

"Where's Jason?" Reyna asks scanning the crowd for her boyfriend.

"He went to get another drink," Frank informs her. She nods leaving the sexual tension that is her friends in search of her boyfriend.

It takes a while before she finally heads toward the back of the mansion. She finally spots the familiar build and blonde hair of one Jason Grace.

She smiles and begins to call to him. "Ja-" her words die in her throat as she sees him turn slightly. In his arms is the host of the party. Piper McLean. The Native American girl appears to be trying to rip the boy's tongue out with her own.

Reyna emits a low growl. She stalks forward and grabs the boy by the back of the shirt pulling him off the other girl.

"What the f-" Jason pales as he stares at the face of his girlfriend. Reyna punches him across the face. Not slap. A full on punch.

Dancers around them stop to watch the encounter.

Jason slowly looks back up. "Look Rey it's not-"

"It's not what!? It's not like you were just kissing another girl or anything you dick! Just go bring her upstairs for all I care! We're done!"

Reyna turns on her heel. Tears prickling in her eyes. She turns and walks off head held high. She won't appear weak. She ends up going upstairs. She walks aimlessly until she finds her way to roof.

"You're an idiot," Nico tells Jason as he hands the other boy a bag of ice.

"You're not helping!" Jason snaps. "Luke make him stop!" He whines.

"Nico stop," Luke says with an eye roll.

"I got a headache," Jason mumbles.

"You're drunk. You got punched. And you got dumped. I would expect it would hurt," Frank says taking away the boys drink.

"Shut up Zhang!"

"You should go apologize," Hazel tells Jason.

"What-"

"You should," Annabeth agrees. "Apologize to Reyna and make sure your friendship with Piper is still intact, she stormed off too."

"She thought I broke up with Reyna already..."

"How long have you been cheating on Reyna!"

"A while," Jason squeaks. Annabeth slaps the back of the boys head. She and Hazel share a look before walking off in search of the other girls.

"Women," Percy states. "I still don't understand."

"Who honestly does?" Leo asks.

"I don't have that problem," Nico states. The other boys groan in response.

"Go get a room for you and Will, di Angelo," Jason grunts. Nico slaps Jason's head once before walking off in search of another drink and or a certain blonde.

"My brother did WHAT!?" Thalia screams.

"He cheated on me with McLean," Reyna mumbles. Bianca hands the girl her drink. Reyna nods gratefully taking a long swig.

"I'm gonna kill him!" Thalia declares as she stumbles a bit. Zoë quickly steadies the other girl.

"Maybe you should wait until you're sober," She suggests pulling Thalia down on to one of the benches near the fire.

Who even has a fire pit on their roof? Reyna wonders. Oh wait- rich boyfriend stealing bitches do. Stupid question.

The girls begin to talk about other subjects to take Reyna's mind off of things. Soon Zoë's face turns serious.

"Guys can I trust you with something?" She asks.

"Don't be a spoil sport Nightshade," Thalia groans. "We are having fun," she slurs.

"This is serious Thals."

"Sure it is..." Thalia states standing up.

"Listen to me Thalia!"

Silence falls over the group of girls as Zoë glares at her friend over the fire. As she has everyone's attention. She begins to speak.

"There's something I've been keeping from you..."

As she falls her head hits the ground hard.

Hazel rushes over. Annabeth groans.

"What the hell man!?" Percy shouts at Luke before throwing a punch which connected with Luke's jaw. The older boy had gotten out of control.

Annabeth had tried to take his drink away. She pulled his hand back trying to take the drink and he let his hand fly. Hitting the girl and causing her to slip and fall.

He didn't mean to but... Ever since joining the gang he'd drink more to compensate for the shitty way he was feeling lately.

Luke retaliated throwing a punch toward Percy. Percy freezes allowing himself to be hit. Nico throws a kick himself. Frank, Jason and Leo attempt to break it up but soon get pulled in the fray as well. The three girls shout continuously for the boys to stop. But they don't.

Not until a terrified scream pierces the air...

And a girl's body hits the ground.

"No it's not true!" Thalia protests as she paces franticly. Bianca tries to calm her friend down and Zoë is oddly silent.

Reyna sits over a bit near the fire not wanting to intrude. Sure all four girls are friends but, the other three had known each other longer, having gone to the same summer camp for years.

"Please listen to me! Thalia!" Zoë pleads. "Luke-"

"Luke wouldn't have done that!"

"My sisters said-"

"Your sisters!" Thalia shouts rounding on her friend. "Your so-called-sisters hate you! All of them! They disowned you! And Calypso never talks to you! You dare say that they told you this! They're liars!"

Zoë's mouth hangs open at her friends words. Bianca places a hand on Zoë's shoulders but she shakes her off. Silence falls. The crackling of the fire and drunk teenagers seem to fade into the background.

Reyna pulls her eyes away from the scene in front her feeling she is being watched. She glances over to see a pair of eyes watching everything else. When did they get here?

The other person shifts slightly so they're face is seen briefly. Reyna is pulled away as Zoë speaks.

"You have no right to speak of my family that way," Zoë growls with a harsh glare. "I can all them bitches or whatever I please. But not you. Now listen to me carefully."

Zoë glares straight in the eyes of Thalia as she takes a step forward so the two girls are are mere inches apart.

"Luke Castellan tried to break my father out of jail. He almost killed Ms. Artemis-"

"No!" Thalia shrieks as she shoves her friend back. Zoë stumbles surprised and tries to grab something but Thalia steps back.

Letting her "friend" fall.

Zoë lets out a scream... which ends not long after.

"Thalia... Y-you just-" Bianca stutters.

"I didn't do anything you did!"

"What!?"

"One word of protest and you're next."

Reyna stares wide-eyed and attempts to subtly leave.

"Where are you going?" Thalia accuses.

"Take a wild guess. You killed a girl. I'm out," Reyna states.

"No. I wasn't here. None of us were. We were inside and Zoë came out here for a smoke... Deal?"

"Deal," Reyna replies. Thalia turns to Bianca who gulps a bit before muttering a 'Deal' under Thalia's glare.

Reyna's eyes flicker to the corner. But the other person is already gone.

The girls begin to make their way downstairs feigning shock.

Everything can change in a short period of time.

They learned that the hard way.

Sadly, the lesson will be learned again. And again.

More lives will change.

And more lives will end.

But they had to have a party.

If only they hadn't come.

I think I've come up with a description (it will probably change):

10 more days.

That's all and then Thalia Grace and her boyfriend Luke Castellan are off to Jupiter University.

Things are going perfectly contrasting with the way this year had started. With Bianca and Reyna...

Now she has 10 days which she is spending at her home away from home, working at Camp Half-Blood.

But that's when things start to change.

Someone wants everyone else to know what she's done. Reyna.... But how?

She's in jail. So who would help her? Why?

Thalia has to find out because other lives beside her own are crumbling because of her.
