Searching among the Fog

Wattpad is glitching so I had to restore a previous version that was changed idk how

Previously

Their hearts and brains were in conflicts and complete chaos. Darkness surged inside their souls as they think about what would happen to the girls if they didn't do anything. But the consequence to go against the Lucifers were forever suicide and torture.

The boys had themselves put them into a conflict between their heart and brain, to decide between your purpose or your own heart? To do what you were designed for? Or to follow your heart and do something that would eventually be futile and lead to eternal sorrow either way.

"Father was a vampire too! He fell in love with a human girl too!" Ash retorted

"AND THE HUMANS KILLED BOTH OF THEM!" Gary yelled

"If Father comes to know about the girls, they're dead." Paul pointed out.

"Hate to point the obvious, The Lucifers are already out to get the girls killed." Drew remarked bitterly.

"I don't care, we are not meddling in Father's plans Ash, Drew. The Sooner it gets in your head, the better!" yelled Paul.

"And Let Dawn Die?" Drew and Ash asked. "Let Leaf, Dawn, May and Misty die??"

"SHUT UP ASH! MY DECISION WILL NOT CHANGE! WE WILL LEAVE THIS CITY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE YOU BRAT!" Paul yelled before leaving the spot.

"AND I AM NOT LISTENING TO YOU PAUL! WE NEED TO SAVE THEM!"

"WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE OR ANY WAY!"

"FINE! GIVE UP LIKE A WIMP YOU ARE!!"

"ATLEAST, I HAVE THE BALLS TO ACCEPT THE HARSH REALITY!"

"YOU'RE WRONG! YOU JUST DON'T HAVE THE BALLS TO CHANGE THE REALITY!"

Gary wanted Leaf. He wanted her to be by his side, hold his hand and tell him everything will turn out alright because she will be there with him. He didn't want her to die. Not at all. Couldn't this end in a better way for both Gary and Leaf? As well as others?

All these thoughts left him confused and torn up on the inside. No matter what might happen, Leaf would die one way or another. And there is nothing he could do to save her.

But Dawn got hurt because of the Lucifers. It was because of them she got scared and right now, she needs to be safe. Paul doesn't know how he could save her even though he really wants to. There was no way to get rid of the Lucifers. So if he wanted things to happen smoothly, he better let it be.

This crossroad would end up tearing the boys within and among. They were baffled. But even in their befuddled state, they knew that whatever will happen in the next few days, would change this whole world forever for the worst. They were despondent and desperate for a solution to get out of this.

But This world didn't give them a choice did it?

They had didn't have a choice.
The human race had to end.
Everything needs to come to an end.
Even the magical moments those memories with their loved one
Everything needs to come to an end.

And the end was coming sooner than they thought...

———THIS ENTIRE TIME WITH THE GIRLS------

May sighed as she watched Gary disappear within a blink of an eye. She didn't tell him about the website thing, she can't risk telling him. As far as she could think, if any of them discuss this with each other, consequence isn't going to be in their favour. After all, she still remembers seeing a dead body in their castle bathroom. Not only that, Drew took someone's name that May wasn't acquainted with. So the 4 vampires aren't the only ones in the castle. There are hunters vampire too, and the moment they catch a clue about who is doing all the research, they'll die.....
Or what if they all will regardless of that? Drew did say that Vampires have superhuman hearing. Then maybe all the vampires already know about it and are waiting for the perfect time when each of them are alone...to kill them

Okay
May needs to calm down. Thinking about how things are wrong and most plausible scenarios that they're already wrong before she even takes a step, is itself wrong. Small step at a time. Leaf did say that it's important to focus on taking the next right step.

THEN HOW COULD SHE TAKE THE NEXT RIGHT STEP WHEN ALL THE STEPS ARE CREAKING AND READY TO BREAK THE ENTIRE STAIRCASE!

Wait okay
May
Relax
Clearly the best way is to analyse and observe which again is something Leaf said. Analyse and observe, get more information about stuff that you don't know about rather than diving in.

Gary rolled his eyes. "You have a lot to learn about us May."
"What do you mean?" She asked confused.
"Go hit the books in the library Nerd Girl, you'll know what I mean." And with that, Gary jogged off.

The library is the best place where she could get her answers.... After all this is horror high. She could even ask the teachers....Unless they're vampires too!?! Or werewolf!?!

No
Wait
That's not possible. So far the vampires and werewolf she has encountered, are teens. But then again, they're limited.... Do vampires age? No... didn't Gary said something about being more than a century old?

With a billion questions swirling in her head, May decided on one sure thing, Library was the only place she could find some answers. But she doesn't know where she could find what she is looking for? Maybe someone in the school can help her. She only knows Brendan, Tia, Elissa, Will, Yuki and Bonnie. But remembering the last time she saw Tia and Elissa, they're out of the question. The boys will ask too many questions too. And what's the guarantee they aren't one of vampires already? Wait...Could Girls be vampires as well? She hasn't met any so far...

Her head began to throb with pain with the pilling doubts that seemed like an endless pit. There must be a way to calm her mind down, she needs to find a way and that too quick. May took a breath in and exhaled, calming herself. She took another deep breath
And choked on it.

The door was slammed open and Leaf came in. May coughed and tried to control herself. But Leaf didn't glanced at her and head to her laptop.

"That's not possible.... I swear I thought it was blood or some drug... How could it turn out to be tomato juice!?!"

May gulped, by now she managed to control her coughing fit. She looked at Leaf and remembered how she herself switched the real blood with the tomato juice that Gary handed her.

"Hey...Leaf...You okay? Is everything alright? You're looking mad." May asked nervously

"May, This is rubbish. I know something is up with the drink, first someone tried to steal the watch glass. Then the person from whom the boys took their drink relentlessly refused to  serve me the same. They even didn't answer my questions and glared at me! Then when I was going to try to sneak in, those duplicate dopes came and attacked Gary and me. And now, when I went to my own lab downtown to search up the results of the tomato juice that I did, turned out to be freaking real tomato juice. Like what the hell." Leaf was fuming as she bashed her fist on the desk. "There is something I am missing." She muttered to herself and relentlessly looked around. "Someone must have tampered with my equipment. There is no way that the results could be of tomato juice! if so then why did that person refused to let me drink it!?"

May took a deep breathe and decided that right now, even though she was the reason of Leaf's furious and wrecked outburst, she needs someone by her side. May visualized keeping her nervousness in a dark color box inside of her, locked it and went over to Leaf.

"Hey...You told me before didn't you? If you don't know what to do, then it's best to wait it out. I am sure you'll figure something out! This is just an obstacle Leaf."

Leaf didn't pay heed to May and paced around the room, freaking out. "No No No No NO no NO NONONONO This simply can't be! There has to be something that I am missing! It's like the answer is just in front of me! If I don't figure this out.... God knows what will happen! Those weird inhumane forces that attacked us. Did they just attacked us or others as well? And the entire mystery of the cerulean city may actually be depended on this! This was the only real progress I had and all the attempts and hassles of carrying it out proves that this was a real clue! I was getting somewhere!!! THEN WHY! WHY!"

May immediately grabbed Leaf by her shoulders, made her sit on the chair and handed her a glass of water.

"Drink it, it'll help."

"NO! It won't...You don't get it May. I have to figure this out otherwise there will be people dying. Of course they're dying! Did you heard what Dawn said? About what happened to her? What if something happens again and one of us-"

"Leaf, listen, this isn't like you right now. You're the one who can think clearly amongst us. You're the one with a strategy when we hit a wall. This isn't to put pressure on you Leaf. I am not saying it to put pressure on you. I am reminding you. You're smart, You're intelligent, you're the most put together and mature amongst us. You observe, backtrack and see where things could have gone wrong. You're not alone in this Leaf. We aren't even supposed to be the ones to investigate! We are just 15-16years old! But see! Within just span of few days of arriving in this school, you made far more progress than any detective or police force that tried to do so! And you're not alone Leaf. Yes, People are dying. And yes, even though this isn't our burden to carry, we are going to hold it together and carry it together." May kneeled down in front of her and looked into her eyes, placing her hands on her shoulder. "Girl, we are in this together. Alone, we can't figure things out. But together, we can! You and Dawn are the calmness in our storms. You figure out what me and Misty can't. You both backtrack and figure out what can be made right in the now. You're the brain Leaf, the logical one. Dawn's the one that has softness and carry the emotions amongst us. Misty is the one that makes sure we don't do anything foolish and leads us together towards what we want, what is right. I-....I... well,  this is you Leaf, this isn't expectation. For you to figure out. No. You can figure it out because that's you! And you can only figure it out by being yourself right now. So calm down and breathe. The fog in the mind will be cleared if you give it a chance."

Leaf looked at May. Even though she still doubts herself, but she is feeling less nervous now. Feeling stressed is only going to cloud her mind.

May is right. I need to backtrack and see what could be done in the very present to make it right. Not freaking out about how it went wrong. Breathe Leaf, breathe. You got this.

"Maybe I just need to go for a walk." Leaf replied, a small smile forming on her lips. She took the glass of water and drank it. May nodded and stood up.

"I have something to look up. I am sure you'll figure something out Leaf. You don't have to do anything alone, you have us. We got you."

"You're right... I think after the walk, I'll search up the responses we got." Leaf replied, heaving a sigh of relief.

"What?" May asked tilting her head in confusion.

"I set up the website almost immediately after Cynthia gave us the permission to do so. I even linked it with your account. From the notification, it's pretty obvious that people admire cynthia alot because the moment I posted from her account, responses started to pile within half an hour." Leaf explained and May's eyes widen in shock.

"..W..woah...t-that's great! I-I'll start searching up the responses! You go take a walk though. You should relax. Don't take too much of pressure okay? Now go. The weather is calm right now so it's going to be nice to relax a bit right?" May stammered as she hurriedly lead Leaf out of the door. "Leave the responses to me alright? I'll forward the important ones to you in no time! Don't worry! For now, you should focus on yourself. Maybe get a shoulder massage. Your shoulders were stiff when I touched it. Ohhhh I know! Hot spring! There must be one nearby right?"

"I guess" Leaf answered slightly confused. Her mind was muddled up, but May's was a chaotic storm that even though was somehow relaxed before, had worsen and became hilariously deranged inside.

The moment Leaf went, May broke down in sweats. Her mind rushing back all the questions and banging inside her head. Her fingers trembled.

What now?
————-
"What now?" Misty turned around, irked. Her mind was already occupied by everything that was happening and right now, she just didn't had the energy to be polite.

"Um Hey" Misty glanced at Dawn a bit worried about her

" Hey Dawn"

"Were you expecting someone?" She asked, looking at Misty's expression.

"Not really..." Misty trailed. "it's just that I thought Ash would annoy me again. Or I don't know, explain to me what happened or something.."

"Why would he explain what happened to you though?" Dawn asked, tilting her head. Misty realized what she meant and nodded.

"Yeah...You're right.... I didn't even thank him for saving me..." She whispered. Dawn looked at her, thinking about how Paul immediately wrapped his arms around her to save her. She doesn't think she thanked him.

"I think we both should find them you know? And thank them. I mean they did endanger their lives for us." Dawn replied while looking around, wondering where others can be right now.

"Maybe, Maybe not. I am not sure of it yet." Misty thought, thinking back on time when Ash suddenly vanished after informing about May. Maybe she could ask May where she was or who she was with, and why Ash was the one who came to inform and why was her phone off. On the topic of Ash, her thoughts went to him. She never showed that she paid much attention to him, but honestly, she felt nice around him. All the frustration vanish when she is with him, well maybe because she took it all on him. Anddd that's not good. But he isn't all that bad maybe. Maybe.

"Misty? You there?" Dawn snapped her fingers in front of Misty. Misty nodded. "Yeah maybe we should thank them."

"Alright then... Where should we start?"

"We can ask around, but I have a feeling that's not safe. Oh wait, how about we ask Brendan?" Misty perked up, still thinking about Ash. Like any normal girl, she couldn't stop thinking about him. More like she didn't want to.

Dawn shook her head. "We can ask the girls in the college maybe? Tia and Ellisa?"
Misty shuddered. She didn't feel comfortable around them anymore. Same with Dawn for Brendan.

"You know what? I'll go ask Brendan and you go ask them? Works?" Misty put forward.

"Yeah, that works!" Dawn nodded.

"Be safe!" The girls told each other before heading off to different direction.

This way, Maybe I can spend some time with Ash. He was nice to me. Maybe I can make this right. I could ask about cerulean city too, afterall he knew about the golden lily too. Maybe he knows the city better than me. Probably asking him for a coffee would be better? Or tomato juice? Sheesh. Misty cringed remembering how their first interaction went. Anyways, right now my focus should be on finding Ash and as well as what's going on around the town. Those were some weird wolves though.

I hope Paul is okay, he was bleeding and looked pretty pissed. For someone who doesn't show any emotions, whenever he shows, it's intense. Especially when you look in his eyes and see. Most of the time they feel masked to me, as if there is a covering over them. But when he looks at me..... I could see the emotions in his eyes. A different galaxy... Darkness is the color of space where the stars live, only if you can see them you'll know what they are and how different they are every time you look into his eyes... I hope he is fine...
