i'm with you. no matter what else, you have in your head, im with you and i love you
THE CULLEN'S HOUSE was filled with a tense silence during the passing days. The day after Bella had... passed had been interesting, to say the least. Ophelia was more emotional and snappy than usual, and so was Edward.
While everyone was certain that Bella had venom inside her, they were uncertain that she was going to wake up. Until the next day, of course.
Ophelia was the first to notice the changes. It started with her skin. Instead of the shallow, purple skin that adorned her body, she now had beautiful porcelain skin covering her. The hair was next, it went from thin and almost dead hair to a thick, brunette color, shaping her face perfectly.
That's also when everyone noticed that Renesmee was growing at an alarming rate. She no longer looked like a normal, but a few months old.
No vampire in the house had ever seen anything like it, and it frustrating them to no end. And it worried Seth the most, because she was his imprint and he was scared that he wouldn't have much time to spend with her.
And not only that, Jacob had come back into the household and will not leave, which angered Ophelia. She had yelled at him, telling him that Bella doesn't and never will feel for him the way he wants her to.
But, there has been some good parts within the days they waited Bella to awake. The rest of the pack has come by, telling Ophelia how sorry they were about Bella and that they will be there for her. Hell, they've even began to build her a little cottage on their side of town so she would always have a place with them. She was so glad to have them, Rebekah, and the Winchester brothers by her side throughout this tough time.
IT WAS LATER on the second day, and Ophelia was sitting in the room that Bella was laying in. Her brown eyes never once left her best friend's corpse. She couldn't believe that she would allow something like this to happen. She should've turned Bella the moment the Cullen's left them all that time ago. She should've grabbed Bella and ran, but if she did that, then maybe she wouldn't have met Dean.
Sighing, she tilted her head as she watched Bella's hair grow a little longer. This was her first time seeing the transformation of a Cold One, and it wasn't really what she expected.
I mean, with Nightwalkers, they re just dead until they're not, and then they just look like they had before. There is no physical difference, only the fact that they're faster and hungry for blood.
With Cold Ones, their hearts stop beating, they have no blood flow, they don't need to breathe, and they sparkle on the sun. The last thing — Ophelia still found funny.
"Ophelia!" Alice's voice was heard and then the pixie's hand was in front of her, snapping her fingers.
Ophelia snapped out of her daydream, wanting to bitch slap Alice into the next week, but decided against it. She looked up at the pixie with an eyebrow raised. "What do you want?"
Alice smiled down at her and held out a hairbrush. "We wouldn't want her to wake up as a mess, now do we?"
Ophelia pursed her lips and took the brush from her, and stood up, making her way to her best friend's body. She silently started brushing Bella's hair with a delicate touch.
"She'll be waking up on her birthday," Alice stated and Ophelia froze, chewing on the inside of her cheek. "We're going to cele—"
"She's dead," Ophelia snapped before taking in a deep breath. "There's no reason for her to be celebrating anyway."
"Don't be like that," Alice scolded, "besides, it gives us an opportunity to give her her present."
Ophelia sighed and thought about the cabin the Cullen's, with the help of Sam and Dean, had been building for Bella and her little family. It was just about a few minutes away from the Cullen's house, just enough to give the small family some privacy.
The original moved the brush through Bella's silky hair, slowly as Alice began to place her in a royal blue dress. "She wanted me to change her, you know." Alice looked up abruptly as those words left the Original's lips. "We had been talking about it for a little while, you know, and even though she loves Edward, I am her best friend, and she just—" She shook her head. "I love her like an actual sister and I never thought I would see her die like that. Or in any way, actually."
"She's coming back, Ophelia," Alice told her softly, "And she'll want to see you happy."
Ophelia nodded. "Yeah. She'd try to kick my ass if she were to see me crying over her dead corpse."
IT WAS DAY three and Bella would be waking up.
The entire family, the Winchester's, and the Original's sat in Carlisle's office, where Bella was still being held.
She looked beautiful. Apart from her dress, her hair laid behind her in waves and a soft brown eyeshadow laid upon her eyelids. She looked much like a goddess and more like Ophelia than she did before.
It was weird, Bella wasn't as pale as the Cullen's, but she was paler than she was before, but it seemed to work just fine with her.
Ophelia cooed at Renesmee as she held the adorable baby, swaying her back and forth in her arms. Dean was behind her, his arms wrapped around her waist, kissing her shoulder-blade softly.
Sam was standing beside Rebekah who was to the right of Ophelia. They were holding hands, and the blonde was leaning into the lanky boy. It was quite funny, because even though Rebekah was a little taller than average, she still couldn't reach Sam's height, even in heels.
Suddenly, Alice let out a gasp and everyone turned around. Ophelia was quick to hand Renesmee over to Rebekah who took the baby with a big smile on her face.
The raven haired girl stepped forward and watched with tentative eyes, not taking her eyes off of her best friend.
It happened in a flash; Bella's eyes snapped open in an instant and she sat up, and Ophelia was in awe. It wasn't because Bella was beautiful, no, it was because the newly turned vampire didn't have blood red eyes like she was suppose to have. And she didn't have gold ones either. No, her eyes were just a lighter color of brown, that sparkled when the sun hit them.
Bella looked around the room before her eyes landed on Edward who was also in awe. Because not only was her eyes not what they were suppose to be, but she also wasn't sparkling in the sun that was beaming in through the open windows.
"You bitch!" Ophelia exclaimed before running towards her best friend and taking her in her arms. "How dare you leave me like that?!"
Bella chuckled and hugged her best friend back. "I love you, too."
AFTER OPHELIA AND Bella's little reunion, Edward had to get her out of the house for a hunt due to her smelling the humans in the house. And then Carlisle started to do research on why Bella didn't come back as a full Cold One. He had figured it was because Ophelia had given the girl some of her own blood.
"They're back!" Alice suddenly called out from the living room.
Ophelia was quick to stand up and make her way over to the others, and smiled brightly at her best friend who walked in behind Edward. She looked so healthy and happy. It was a huge difference from just a few days ago.
When Bella stepped inside, Ophelia was quick to pull the newly turned vampire into a hug. "I love you, I love you, I love you! You're never leaving my sight again. I am so happy you're back!" She grabbed Bella's face in her hands, a smile so big on her face that it was physically hurting.
Bella laugher slightly and nodded. She held out her pinky and said, "Pinky promise?"
Ophelia giggled and linked their pinky's together. "Pinky promise." She then pulled Bella further into the room, tears welling up in her eyes. She was so happy to see her best friend alive, that she didn't care what kind of vampire she was.
Esme hugged Bella next, a smile of her own on her face. "Welcome to the family."
"You look great, Bella!" Alice complemented, grinning widely.
"Someone's been waiting to meet you," Carlisle told her and then gestured to his daughter, "Rose."
The blonde turned to Bella, and held out her arms so she could see Renesmee. Bella gasped, and took her baby out of Rose's arms.
"Beautiful," Bella breathed as she admired her child. Renesmee reached up and laid her small hand on Bella's cheek who's jaw dropped and she looked up at Edward. "Whatwas that?"
"She showed you the first memory she has of you," he said with a small smile.
"She showed me? How?"
"How do I hear thoughts? How does Alice see the future?" Edward questioned, before saying, "she's gifted."
"I've only been out for two days?" Bella asked, looking around the room, tears welling up in her eyes, as well.
"Her growth rate is unprecedented," Carlisle explained to the newly turned vampire.
"Alright," Jacob stepped forward and reached out for Renesmee, "that's enough experimenting for one day."
"Hands off, asshole," Ophelia spat and glanced over at Seth who didn't like the idea of Jacob touching his imprint.
"Jacob, "Edward shook his head, "she's doing great."
"Yeah," he agreed, "let's not push it though."
"What's your problem?" Bella growled, pulling Renesmee closer to her chest.
Ophelia smirked over at Jacob, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Jacob hasn't been a good boy since you gave birth," she taunted and snickered as Jacob glared at her. "He has thrown a fit, started a fight with Edward and I, and let's not forget that he's jealous."
Bella frowned as she looked at her best friend. "Jealous? Why is he jealous?"
Seth hesitantly cleared his throat and murmured, "I imprinted on Renesmee." When Bella's eye's narrowed, he quickly said, "I had no control over it! I'm sorry, Bella!"
Bella tilted her head and handed her baby over to Rebekah who cooed and took her out of the room, Sam following. Bella then stepped towards Seth who gulped, but froze as she pulled him into an unexpected hug. "I'm glad it was you. You're a nice kid, Seth." She stepped back and gave the sixteen year old boy a smile. "But..." She trialed off and tilted her head over in Jacob's direction. "I want to know why you're jealous."
Jacob started stuttering over his words before spitting out, "You don't belong with that monster!" He pointed at Edward who simply rose an eyebrow and crossed his arms. "And Ophelia knocked me out!"
Bella turned to Ophelia who simply grinned and said, "He was getting in the way of things. If I hadn't knocked him out, you might not be here right now. Renesmee might not be." She then shrugged. "Not like I have to give an explanation anyway. He's an asshole who blew up on you for marrying the guy you actually have feelings for, and not him. He had it coming."
Bella simply smirked at her best friend before shaking her head at Jacob. "Don't try to start anything, Jake. I love Edward, I will always love Edward." She then ignored his puppy eyes and turned to everyone else. "We have two very important things to figure out; why Renesmee is growing at an alarming rate and to figure out what I am."
Edward looked to Ophelia who was biting her lip in thought. "While we were hunting, Bella showed no signs of being a Cold Blood. She's kinda cold to the touch, colder than you, but warmer than us. Her eyes glow a golden color when she feeds, but she had regular fangs and no venom. So, what Carlisle and I am thinking is that your blood reached her first, and then my venom did, and they somehow coincided, so now she's some sort of hybrid of both species of vampires. Though, she seems to favor your kind more."
Ophelia nodded slowly. "It makes sense." She turned to Bella and grabbed her hand. "We're going to have to do some tests to figure out everything you can do. But, no right now."
Bella nodded and pulled Ophelia into a hug. "Thank you for always being there for me when I need you most."
Ophelia smiled and tightened her hold on her. "You're welcome, love."
LATER THAT NIGHT, Ophelia sat on the couch with Dean. Her head was laying on his lap as he ran his fingers through her longer hair, humming a song he knew. Sam was seated at the end of the couch, her feet propped up on him, and Rebekah was on the arm of the chair.
The front door was opened softly, causing for everyone to turn towards the door. Rosalie quietly walked in the sitting room, being the first one to return from the hunt.
Carlisle, Bella and Edward had hunted earlier, while the rest worked on finishing the small cottage for the newly weds. But now the remaining members had returned, and the house was busy again.
"My turn," Rosalie whispered, and held her arms out to grab Renesmee. Bella smiled down at her newborn for a moment, and then handed her to her auntie. Rose cooed at her niece with a grin on her face, and Renesmee giggled at the blonde.
The door opened once more, and loud footsteps and voices filled the air. Ophelia sat up fully as Alice skipped in front of Bella, and hold out a key ring. "Happy birthday!"
Bella shot Alice a funny look. "I stopped ageing three days ago."
"That's what I tried telling her," Ophelia said, and began to stand from the sofa, "but we're celebrating anyway—"
"So, suck it up. Both of you," Alice teased before jumping up and down in her place. "Come on!"
Ophelia watched them with a small smile before texting Dean to get ready seeing as she's coming over with a little surprise. That surprise being a new set of lingerie.
