Veronica Fekadu woke up to the pitter patter of rain on the bus window she accidentally slept on. she reluctantly pulled her head up and did a quick scan on her surroundings with her fist rubbing her left eye and her right hand elongated to stretch her sore muscles. She searched every strangers face, but he wasn’t in there.
He didn’t follow her.
For a reason she didn’t know, a part of her was disappointed.
You don’t want him to follow you. you finally decided Veronica; you don’t want him to come.
She told herself.
The bus kept going forward. But her heart was pushing back, running in the opposite direction.

Towards him.  

As the tires kept rolling, Veronica's mind did the same bringing back bittersweet memories of the last few months with Dillan Kenzo.  The Dillan that took her heart the moment she saw him at the cafeteria, the Dillan her mind still thinks of, the Dillan whose laugh still reverberates in her ears, the Dillan that always made her smile, The Dillan that gave her butterflies whenever he looked at her, The Dillan that was hers.
The thought of everything that has happened in the past few months made her feel like she knew him for eternity, like she spent a lifetime with him.
Her eyes were open, but she wasn’t looking. she would hear, but she wouldn’t listen. Dillan and his Memories had total control over her mind, soul, and body.
