I could hear my dad hitting my mom again. The simmer of broken glass, and the horrid screeching from my mom. "M-Megumi!! Run!" My mom yelled out from the living room. I have to leave her again? Why can't I take her with me? I opened up the window and dropped out of it and landed softly on the hay. I put some hay here so I wouldn't break my legs when falling. I then ran and ran as fast as my little legs could take me. Suddenly the Hanamura house came into appearance. I dragged a ladder to Teruteru's window and climbed up it. I peered through the window and saw Teruteru was still awake, drawing. I knocked on the window. He immediately gasped when he saw me and immediately went to the window. "Come in, come in." Teruteru told me as he opened the window and helped me in. He shut it after I got in. "Mamma won't mind if you're here." Teruteru told me. "Why do you say that?" I asked him. "Because that's always the first thing you ask me when you walk in." Teruteru mentioned. I laughed at his remark. Even at 10 years old, we still laugh about the same things over and over again. "Wanna head to bed? I plan to make breakfast in the morning with Mama. You can help, if you like." Teruteru suggested. "Yeah, thanks." I said and he smiled in response. We both climbed into his bed and he held himself around me. He made me feel safer.
