We were driving in the car when Adam asked me to grab his phone.

" Okay now what?" I asked once I had opened the phone.

" Will you go into phone and call Red" he asked.

" Sure. Why?" I asked getting to his contact.

" I just want him to meet me at the park" he said.

"Just him?" I asked.

He nodded " Ever since Barney moved out he's been on his own. He can spend time with us"

" Okay" I said pressing the call button and putting it to my ear.

" Hellooooo" I said into the phone. I could hear Adam laughing quietly.

" y/n?" Red asked.

" Yerp" I said. Adam laughed again. I really am the second child. Me and Mason.

" Well may I ask why I am receiving this odd call" Red asked laughing.

" Well Adam wanted to know if you would like to come to the park with us" I said.

" Sure. I would love to." he said.

" Great we are going to Castle Park" I said. ( I'm watching Castle so that's the name of the park. I have no clue if it's a real park)

" Okay see you there" he said.

" Byeeeeee" I said.

He laughed and said bye. I hung up the phone and put it back into cup holder.

" So you seem happy" he said.

" And the problem is?" I asked.

" Oh nothing. Just noticing" he answered.

" Okay" I said looking out the window.

5 minutes later we got to the park. I got out of the car and unbuckled Mason.

" Want to go to the park Mason?" I asked.

He smiled, laughed, and clapped his hands.

" Let's go swing" I said placing him on my hip.

" I'm going to sit on the bench and wait for Red" Adam said pointing to a bench.

" Okay" I said walking over to the swings.

Adam's POV

I walked over and sat down on the bench. I watched Mason and y/n at the swings. They looked so happy. Maybe she can be a mother figure for him. Like Alesa will be there she used to be so good. What if I broke her. I made her into this crazy thing. Who feels like she needs a guy to be happy.

" Hey Adam" Red said coming over.

I smiled " Hey Red"

He sat next to me " So how are you"

I sighed " Not going to lie. The whole thing with Alesa has been hard. But she definitely makes it easier. Plus she understands what's like"

" How so?" he asked.

" Well I don't know how much I can say but her fiancé was is a total jerk" I said.

He laughed " Well that sure helps. You can both help each other" we were both watching them.

" Yeah. She's pretty easy to get along with too" I said.

" And she seems sweet too" he said. She looked up at us. She smiled and waved. We smiled and waved back. )Smile and wave boys just smile and wave. Do you get it? I love that movie. Odd considering my age but what ever)

" She is. And she loves Mason" I answered as they went back to swinging.

" Yeah. Don't worry. Everything will be okay" he said.

" Who said I was worried?" I asked looking at him.

He gave me a look that said don't lie to me. I know you're lying to me.

I laughed a little " Okay you're right. I just can't help but think I broke Alesa. And I don't want to break her"

" Oh don't worry about it. You won't break her" he said.

I smiled a little. It's nice but....

" Hey Adam Red" she said coming over with Mason on her hip.

" Hey y/n" Red said.

" So Mason and I agreed we should get ice cream. Right Mason?" she said. He started clapping his hands.

I smiled " Well let's go"

" Yay. Come on this way" she said walking down a path. We were walking a little behind her.

" How do you know where an ice cream shop is. I don't even know" Red asked.

" Well this was the closest to my old apartment. I would come down here a lot to get away. I love watching all the happy couples and kids play. I remember wishing I could have that with Chase." she answered.

" Chase?" Red asked.

" Her ex fiancé" I answered.

" Oh okay. I'm sorry" Red said.

She turned around just to give a smile then turned around and said " It's okay. I don't know why I even thought it was going to work"

" Still hurts" he said.

" Yeah but not as much" she answered.

" Okay well where do you work?" Red asked changing the subject.

" Oh well I work at Chase bank now. But Adam said he would talk to James and see if I could work with you guys" she answered.

" Oh that would be fun." he said.

" Yeah. Adam you okay? You haven't said anything" she asked coming to walk next to me.

" Yeah. Just listing to the conversation and thinking" I answered.

" Well we are almost there. Do you want Mason?" she asked.

" Sure" I said. She handed me Mason.

" He is a lovely kid" she said.

I smiled " Sure is. Look at me"

She laughed " Red can you believe him?"

" I know right. How do you put up with him?" he asked.

" You know Chase was easier" she said.

" I'm offended" I said.

She laughed " I'll buy you ice cream"

" Okay" I said pretending to be happier.

" But you get to share with Mason" she said.

" Aww" I said pouting.

She laughed and kissed my cheek.

" Come on right over there" she said dragging us to the shop.

The rest of the time we sat and ate ice cream. This is fun. Maybe I won't break her.
