- 13. Love Me Till The Sun Shines -

~"You don't have to look at me
You don't have to smile at me
You just have to love me till the sun shines."~

*

Her lips were slightly parted and now and then a quiet sigh escaped them, which sounded like music to his ears. Her lovely long hair sprawled out on the silken sheets framed her gentle face. Her dress had slipped up towards her stomach, granting him a lovely view of her legs, who seemed rather pale in comparison to the colourful blanket they were resting on.

Celeste asleep on his bed looked like a scene out of a painting.

Despised his reason telling him not to, he took a picture or maybe he took five, Brian wasn't sure. With Celeste it was as if he lived in the moment, not sure what tomorrow might bring nor did it matter to him anyway.

Brian was sure if she caught him observing her, she would leave and whatever dream he was in would be over, which he couldn't risk. He couldn't deal with losing the warm feeling he got when Celeste was around. He needed her and it seemed even worse since he got a taste off her two weeks ago. Not reaching out to caress her soft skin was one of the hardest things Brian was ever forced to do. He would have perhaps given into the desire if he hadn't promised Celeste to give her time...

Maybe she was only keeping him clinging on to some stupid fantasy that never would happen in the end, but currently it was everything he had. Brian loathed himself nearly for being so... so dependant on the will of a girl. She had him in the palm of her hands and he didn't like it one bit... He could understand why Celeste kept her distance, it wasn't to keep him hanging on, but because of David. Everything she did was for her son and anew Brian found himself jealous of the purity of their love, even if it wasn't as bad as it used to be. He wouldn't have wanted it any other way, this was what made Celeste Celeste and the woman he was so fond off.

"Brian..."

His heart leaped in fear at first. Scared she had woken up and had found him spying on her, but when he noticed her still closed eyes he relaxed. This meant she had to be dreaming of him and the longing to reach out for her became nearly irresistible.

He should have known letting her stay was a bad idea, but how could he have said no, if there was nothing more in this world he wanted than to have her stay with him? Even if it was just for one night, because she had been tired, it was enough.

It was a start and strangely it was all thanks to David.

After Brian had shown him around the whole propriety and answered approximately a hundred more of David questions, they arrived at the pool. Brian had always enjoyed swimming and was glad to now have the possibility to go whenever he wanted to. Definitely another advantage of the house and again he wasn't the only one to think so.

David seemed hypnotized by the pool and again started a multitude of questions, one however caught Brian a bit of guard.

"Can you teach me how to swim?"

Of course he could and there was a part of him that wanted to say yes, but thought better of it. As long as he didn't know where he was standing with Celeste, he didn't want to promise the boy something he couldn't keep. She had been right when she said their relationship wasn't only about them. Brian had to consider David as well and he liked the brat too much to let him down.

"I have to speak with your mother about it," he told the boy, whose only reaction was to pout at Brian, making him smile. "I'm sure she'll says yes. If she doesn't, I always can teach you guitar."

David seemed to accept that and nodded, before he run off again and Brian followed him. He had no idea how much energy a four year or now five year old had until this day, but definitely too much for his taste and his respect for Celeste for dealing with him on her own grew as did his bad conscience... Celeste wasn't the only one in this situation Brian- well he had caused at least two other girls to end up in the same boat... He paid for the children, which was more than what David's father apparently did, but still Brian couldn't deny that spending time with David made him wonder about his own children...  He had no idea how Pat or Julian were, he hadn't seen both in ages, but Linda at least seemed alright. She was with Donovan and they looked happy together. Brian had no idea if that relationship was going to last or not, but if it did at least that meant Julian had a father figure in his life and Donovan probably would be a better one than Brian ever could be.

He didn't see himself as a family person, which was why he couldn't understand how easily he could picture himself with Celeste and well David. Maybe if you found the right person, everything started to fit together and became possible or maybe he had finally gone insane.

In the past Brian had more than once thought he was on the right track to do exactly what he wanted to do with his life, but in the end it never had turned out how he had envisioned it and with Celeste he feared it would end up being the same. He liked her and wished to be with her, but what if they got together, only for him to discover this wasn't what he wanted... How could he blame Celeste for having doubts, if Brian himself had them?

For the moment it definitely was Celeste he wanted, but what was in a month when her magic had no longer that thrilling effect on him and had become a habit? It might have been egoistic of him, yet Brian still wanted a chance, which he had told her earlier as well.

They hadn't come around for a swim or guitar lessons, nor had they actually planned on visiting him.

David had asked Celeste the moment she had returned to pick him up, if they could come back soon and of course if Brian could teach him swimming. She had been reluctant as she usually was, but in the end she couldn't say no to the boy. They hadn't arranged anything though and so Brian's visit had well been a bit of a surprise, even for himself. He had even if he wouldn't admit it been slightly nervous about his performance for the the rock n roll circus thing. His relationship with the others wasn't the best and though he didn't want Celeste to meet them, he wanted her to be there for him. She made him feel at ease, which was definitely something he could use.

Brian had just driven to Celeste's home and picked her and David up. Anew she was a bit resistant at first as he had expected her to be, but the moment David heard it was supposed to be a circus, the boy had nothing else on his mind. Celeste was still worried- it hardly sounded like the right place for a 5 year old, but Brian promised her she could leave whenever she wanted to and that nothing would happen anyway. After some more persuasion from his and David's part, who seemed more and more to become Brian's little helper on all matters concerning Celeste, she had accepted.

The evening was nice, even despised the curious stares they had to endure. Nobody dared to say anything after Keith's failed attempt at least. Brian had to smile at the thought.

Upon seeing Brian, Celeste and David, Keith of course couldn't pass his chance to comment on the odd sight, especially not after David had badmouthed him the last time, when Marion had brought him with her to the studio.

"Let me guess a court-ordered family trip?"

Brian was about to open his mouth to tell Keith to shut it, but Celeste was a lot faster. "Maybe it is for somebody like yourself hard to imagine, but sometimes people just spend time together, because they enjoy each other's company and not only because they are forced to. You shouldn't project your relationships onto other people."

Keith gaped at her speechless. Brian on the other hand had trouble not bursting out laughing as did the other people around. Before Keith could come to his senses, Celeste turned to Brian in the same nonchalantly manner she had previously addressed Keith and asked him where the bathroom was. Brian then guided her away from a fuming Keith Richards, who mumbled something like 'arrogant bitch' under his breath as they had turned their backs to him.

Celeste didn't react and neither did Brian, he could careless about what Keith thought of her or the others. He even preferred it if they didn't like her and he had her all to himself, which for once had worked nearly too smoothly.

To Brian's surprise John Lennon had brought his son along, who was nearly the same age as David and both rather preferred to spend their time together than with their parents.

For a moment Brian feared John would again question his and Celeste's  relationship, but the other male apparently had learned his lesson from his last meeting with Celeste and kept quiet.

Despised how stressful and exhausting, the show was, Brian enjoyed it as did Celeste. John had left with Julian at some point, but Celeste had stayed until the end. David had fallen asleep on her lap though. Brian wondered how the boy could sleep with all the noise going on, but children could probably sleep everywhere.

After the recording was finally finished, Brian, being the gentleman he was, decided to drive them both home. He took David in his arms, who was a lot heavier than Brian expected him to be. The effort was worth it though when he saw the tired smile on Celeste's face. He carried the boy to his car and just when Brian was about to sit him down inside of it, David held on to him and mumbled something about staying with Brian and Pooh. It had been a heartwarming scene, true, but Celeste's next words were what really warmed Brian's heart.

"Can we stay with you for the night?"

A simple yes had been his answer. There was nothing else Brian managed to get out in that moment and neither did he say much when he drove to his new home. They were both tired and needed a rest, but at the same time he was strangely excited as well. He felt a bit embarrassed about it though to be honest, he wasn't supposed to be shy or so easily excited only because someone wanted to stay with him... This was new for him and he didn't want to ruin it. If Celeste wanted to move slow, he could as well.

An intention he momentarily forgot, when he offered her his own bedroom. They had installed David in a guestroom, the only other bedroom, beside his own he had bothered to prepare for somebody to sleep in. He hadn't exactly been expecting any guests, but he was fine with sleeping on the couch anyway. He had managed to sleep in far worse places after all, so a night on his couch was fine.

At least for him.

Celeste of course didn't agree and wanted to sleep with David and leave Brian's bedroom to him, but luckily she had been too tired to argue and even without the boy's help Brian managed to win the argument and something else as well.

He finally had Celeste in his bed and Brian hoped this wouldn't be the last time.
