"It's perfect..."

Brian had been thinking about moving out of the city for a while now, but in the end he had never gone through with it. He either had been too lazy to move, he hadn't found a house to his liking or he simply had no time. Brian still didn't have any, but neither did he want to keep getting bothered by fans on a daily basis and maybe, just maybe Celeste had something to do with his decision to finally move out as well.

And she would definitely approve of this house. Brian could already imagine her preparing a delicious meal in the kitchen and David being the annoying brat he was, would sit by the kitchen table and complain that he was hungry. It was a lovely picture and Brian had to smile until he realised what exactly he was thinking about and nearly wanted to hit himself. He didn't want a family... nor such a serious relationship, at least he thought so.

The last few months he had spend with them had been nice and Celeste was beautiful, no doubt about it, but that was it. Brian didn't have any more feelings for her than maybe a small attraction and friendship. Of course he wouldn't have minded if he could have slept with her, but it didn't bother him any more if she didn't. They had made some fond memories together and that was something he currently valued more than anything. A lot was not going right at the moment for him and at least with Celeste, he was able to put that behind him for a moment. He wasn't the only one that benefited from their relationship though.

Both, Celeste and David had been so excited and happy to meet the Beatles that it had even made Brian ignore the curious stares from them and John Lennon's snide remarks about Brian playing family. Funnily enough, before Brian had even the chance to retort anything, Celeste put John back into his place. It had been hilarious and a great feeling to be for once not the one on her bad side, but if Celeste was one thing than it was protective over her son and she wasn't afraid to stand her ground. Brian suspected she had grown accustomed to deal with those sorts of comments as well. Even he knew that raising a child on your own wasn't easy. Blimey he was paying for two.

Brian, however still didn't know who David's father was. Celeste had finally bothered to tell him a bit about her life and her stay in New York, but there had never been a notion of the father and at some point Brian had stopped to care. So what if David was perhaps Bob Dylan's son? It wasn't as if the folk musician would call one day and take both of them away to the States. He had his own life and probably was happy that Celeste had decided to move back to her family, when she found out she had been pregnant.

Her family wasn't talking to her though, as far as Brian knew. Marion was the only one Celeste was still in contact with. She kept her up to date of what went on at home. Brian wouldn't have suspected that Marion still lived at home, but then again she was only 18 and their parents had already lost one daughter. They were probably happy that they still had Marion left, even if in Brian's opinion, they had settled for the wrong daughter.

Celeste might have run away to New York to follow her dream and had returned home pregnant, but she still seemed far more responsible and likeable than Marion could ever be. Bill had left her a while ago and Brian no longer knew what Marion was up to, but neither did he really care. The last time he had seen her was a month ago at Celeste's, when he had come over for dinner.

Brian hadn't called in advance as he usually did and hence didn't know if Celeste was even home or not, but he was hungry and she didn't live that far from him... It had sounded like a good idea in his mind until Marion opened the door, glaring at him, though it was hardly his fault they had broken up. She had left him after all.

"So you're still screwing my sister?" she greeted him and Brian had wondered if that was the reason she seemed so hostile. Jealousy. Of course he had to ask her about it and an argument had followed, which had ended on Marion closing the door right before his nose and Celeste chasing after Brian. She invited him to have dinner with them and it had been despite Marion a nice evening. Maybe because she hadn't stayed that long. She had immediately excused herself after she had finished eating and had run off, not that Brian had minded.

He definitely enjoyed the time he could spend with Celeste and even with David. The boy wasn't as bad as Brian had first thought. He even started to like him sort of or maybe he was more tolerant of the 4 year old than he had been when they first met.

Being with them felt different from all the other people Brian knew. Celeste was genuine and caring. Her previous hostility towards him had been gone after the third time he had eaten with them and after the fifth Brian would have said they had become friends.

Therefore his next step had to be well planned or else he would scare her off again. Celeste wasn't one of those girls he could just ask to live with him and would jump at the opportunity. He had to sell her the idea and she had given him nearly everything he needed to get her to agree. The perfect house had been the last thing missing.

And she couldn't say no anyway, not in her situation.

Since he had seen Marion's flat for the first time Brian had wondered who paid for it and had suspected her to have some sort of investor, but when he learned it was Celeste's, he knew there had to be some other reason and the whole speculation started again. With no result or nothing much. All Brian had learned was that the flat neither belonged to Celeste nor Marion, but somebody else was paying for it. Brian didn't know who or why, but they were going to stop.

Celeste couldn't afford anything new and Brian knew she would never have accepted any money from him, if had offered her any, but this was perfect. If he asked her to move in with him as his some sort of housekeeper, she and David had a place to live and he had them with him and maybe he had some of that homely feeling at his own place as well. He certainly would like that. Brian might have a good taste, but Celeste had feeling.

The only problem in Brian's plan was, that he still feared Celeste would turn him down, but that's where David came in. If he took her and the boy here and asked them to stay, the boy would surely say yes and Celeste had no other choice than sooner or later to agree with him. If Brian had learned one thing in his time with Celeste, then it was that if you wanted to manipulate her to agree with you, the easiest way was David. If you had the boy on your side, you had won.

Even though Brian suspected that he wouldn't need the boy's help to get Celeste to agree to move in with him as he looked once more over the garden and the house.

I'm sorry that this chapter is a bit shorter and a bit of a filler.... And well there's probably no excuse that it took me so long to write it as well, but life was a bit messy... I should be back to more regular updates though. Hopefully.
