Fluff for the cold weather
Ice covered the ground of Berk. Huge icicles hung everywhere. Lira was in her house playing with Alysheba and twilight. Highflyer sleeping in the loft upstairs. Lira left the leather rope with Alysheba and Twilight going to sit by the fire. So much has happened this year. Her face being heated by the warm, red-orange flame. She stared into the fire a trance coming over her. Her time on Berk flashing across her memory. A familiar voice awoke her from the flashbacks. Normally lira wouldn't run out to Hiccup but today was different. The snow, before the ice, had trapped the small village inside. Lira hadn't known and didn't make it to the great hall. So out she went. Jumping lazily into her boots she stumbled outside.
"Lira!" Hiccups said excitedly. She ran over and right before she was about to hug him her feet slipped back, Hiccup caught her quick before she face planted. She straightened up.
"Hi."
Hiccup looked at lira. She had black furry boots that came up to her knees, saggy gray pants, and a blanket wrapped around her shoulders instead of a coat. She smiled. He returned the gesture.
"I got you something for Snoggletog." Hiccup said.
"Snoggletog? Snoggletog! When's Snoggletog?!"
"3 days from today."
Lira was dumb founded. She had completely forgotten.
"Come on lira you must be completely out of food," Hiccup said pulling her into town.
"Wait!" She twisted out of hiccups hand and ran back into her house. She came back out with her black sweatshirt. She started running, gaining momentum and finally sliding to Hiccup. The towns normal buzzing dirt walkways were almost empty. Hiccup noticed Lira's questioning expression.
"Everyone's in the Great Hall. That's where all the food is; they're moving it all back out to the market."
Lira nodded in understanding. Hiccup grabbed Lira's swinging arm. Her cold hands clutched his as they walked to the hall. Noise erupted from the hall as the large doors were pushed open by Hiccup. Bucket and Mulch pushed past them with a bunch of animals. A yak walked in between them; their hands separated. Hiccup groaned as his father signaled him over. Lira reconnected with him giggling at his annoyed expressions.
"It might be good?"
"When is my father's news ever good."
Lira shrugged. Hiccup walked over to his dad. Lira tagged along.
"Actually Lira, I need to talk to Hiccup alone."
"Oh, ok," lira kissed Hiccup's cheek.
"See you later."
"Bye," lira walked away
