Isaac? He didn't look like he had changed from the few seconds I'd seen him earlier.
Everything is not what it seems.
The increasingly familiar darkness encases me again, before changing into a dim alleyway. Confusion swamps me - Is this where Isaac is? Since Isaac is my brother, I would've thought we would be back at the house. A glance at Alo confirms that the latter idea is wrong, and Isaac is in fact
here.
After a few seconds of allowing my eyes to adjust to the dim light, I look around. To my left is a dead end, with several overflowing bins shoved against the wall. To my right is a flickering street lamp, and under said lamp is a black car, with tinted windows. Next to the car are two figures, and since I'm here, I'm guessing one of them is Isaac.
With another glance at Alo, I begin to make my way towards the two.
"Please! Just give me more time. I'll have your money by the end of next week, I swear I will-" pleads the familiar voice of Isaac. The other figure, who I can now identify as being male, waves a hand, cutting off Isaac's speech.
"You've had enough time, Mr Westford." He says in a low voice, reaching into his coat pocket, "And frankly, I'm getting tired of waiting" He slowly pulls out an object, which is not very visible to me in the flickering light, which makes Isaac take a step back, raising both of his hands.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! We don't need to do this Tye, I swear you will have your money soon."
I moved closer to the two, and began to make out the object in Tye's hand - A gun.
Holy crap, is this actually happening? This guy is pointing a gun at my brother.
Tye laughs maliciously for a few seconds, before uttering the words "Too late".
An ear-splitting sound echoes around the silent street, and it takes me a couple seconds to realize it was a gunshot. Isaacs shadowed face morphs into an expression of obvious shock, before switching to one of immense pain. His body almost immediately drops to the floor with a loud thump. Tye sighs. "I'm a very impatient person Mr Westford" he says, putting the gun back into his pocket. He glances at my brothers' body one last time before turning and walking away.
I stand frozen in place, swallowed by confusion - Why did that guy just shoot my brother?
"Tye's a drug dealer." Alo casually states from behind me. "In this life, your parents pay less attention to Isaac, and as a result, he turned into the polar opposite of what he is when you exist. He was addicted to Cocaine Oakley. Tye supplied it for him, but Isaac couldn't keep up with the payments, and kept promising to pay him back. He never did, and this is his fate." he gestures to my brothers' body. His naturally tanned skin is slightly paler now, and a puddle of crimson blood has begun to form on the floor around his chest.
Isaac wouldn't do that would he? It doesn't seem like him.
"Like I said Oak, you don't know this Isaac." he says in a 'matter-of-fact' tone.
Everything is not what it seems.
I understand what he meant now. Even though Isaac appeared the same when I first saw him, he was actually completely different. I guess my existence really did affect him.
I glance at his lifeless body one last time before turning around to face Alo. I honestly have no idea what to think now. Three people are happy, three people are not.
What do I do?
"Who's next?" I ask Alo, my voice slightly stronger than before.
"Lucy Baker." he replies with a smile, reaching for my hand.
