The concert had barely ended, which meant everyone was backstage packing away their gear. Kiana stayed close to MUNA and did not exchange a single word with Boygenius for the entire half hour they were packing away their gear backstage.

Julien made several attempts to get closer to Kiana but was blocked by Jo each time. They finished up packing their gear and left their team to load it in the car.

It was around 1 AM when Kiana and Jo had snuck off to the pool. The other four had passed out hours ago, but neither Jo or Kiana could sleep, which resulted in their late night pool trip. They didn't actually get in the water though, they didn't have the energy for it. Instead they just lounged by the side of the pool.

"We're definitely gonna regret this tomorrow"

"Definitely" Jo agreed. "Kie, can I ask you something?" Kiana turned on her side and nodded, "You know I'll always have your back; you need to get out of a bad date? I'm your girl. You need to hide a body? I'll help you out any day"

"I don't follow"

"You need an escape from Julien, I got you, don't worry" She continued, "But why do you keep ignoring her? If anything she should be avoiding you, yet she's the one trying to approach you"

Kiana let out a sigh, "I don't want to rekindle anything, because I'm afraid if I do then I'll mess it up all over again"

"You can't live in fear all the time dude," Says Jo, turning her body to face the singer. "You do that and you'll never know what could've become of this" Kiana faced away from Jo knowing she was right. "You'are doing the thing again, y'know, the thing where you don't look at me cause you know I'm right"

"Yeah, yeah"

"You can't get anything past me, Kie, we've known each other since we were kids"

They had met in elementary school during a game of soccer. Jo accidentally kicked the ball to hard at Kiana, causing her to fall over. Jo apologized profusely despite being forgiven by Kiana the first time, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

The following morning Jo and Kiana did indeed regret staying up so late, but it at least made the trip to San Francisco seem shorter since they had slept the entire way there.

"Kie, Jo" Naomi shook their friends awake, "We landed"

Kiana slapped away their hand and turned her back to Naomi. Jo on the other hand didn't say a word, she just grabbed her bags and exited the plane with Katie.

It took a bit of convincing—or rather insulting—to get Kiana off the plane.

On the way to the hotel Kiana thought about what Jo had said to her last night, she couldn't forget it no matter how much she wanted to. When they had arrived at the hotel, Kiana trusted MUNA to get her bags to her room; she needed to speak to Julien. Kiana wandered around the hotel lobby in search of the brunette.

"Julien," Kiana called out.

Julien whispered something to Phoebe and Lucy before the two walked off.

"You're done avoiding me?"

"I'm sorry about that, truly" Says Kiana, "I was only doing that because I didn't want to fuck us up again"

"Us?" Julien questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Fuck, no! I meant I didn't want to get close just to screw it all up"

Julien nodded, "I get it. That fear you felt, I get it, you don't owe me an explanation" Kiana was relieved Julien understood. "So, friends?"

"Friends."

Later on in the day Kiana went down to the hotel bar with Katie since Jo and Naomi weren't in the mood to step foot out of their rooms.

Kiana had already downed a few drinks, while Katie had barely drank half of her coke.

"Important question Katie," Kiana chugged her drink before slamming the glass in the counter. "How did you and Naomi get past the awkwardness after the breakup?"

"Well first we went to therapy to try and become friends again. But the awkwardness afterwards went away naturally with some time" Katie replied, "Why do you ask? Did you finally patch things up with Julien?" Kiana nodded, "Finally!"

"You're a great friend, Katie" Kiana was slumped in her seat, swirling around the ice in her drink with the tiny black straw. "Have I ever told you how amazing you are? You guys are great. Jo was my first kiss, y'know"

Katie's eyes widened at the random fact, "What?"

"Yeah! We were juniors and figured we'd get our first kiss over with so we would stop worrying about it. It was a friendly kiss"

"A friendly kiss?" Katie had to resist the urge to burst out laughing.

Kiana nodded slightly before going on a tangent about Julien, "You know, Julien has a kissable face, I miss kissing her"

"Okay, that's enough" Katie helped her up and took Kiana to her hotel room since she clearly couldn't be left alone in her current state.

Kiana pushed away from her friend and fell face first onto Katie's bed.

"Yeah, no, that's how you die" Katie turned Kiana onto her back, "I'm getting Jo and Naomi, someone has to watch you while I shower"

Katie quickly texted the two who came over after a minute or so.

"She's drunk?" Jo asked, barging into the room.

Kiana lifted her head up and gave Jo a thumbs up.

"Just make sure she doesn't fall asleep and choke on her vomit" Says Katie as she walks into the bathroom.

Naomi turned to Jo, "We're babysitting?"

Jo shrugged, "I guess so"

"Naomi, I love you. Jo, I love you. Wanna know who else I love? Julien. Julien Rose Baker. She has nice tattoos, and nice bo- "

"Okay!" Naomi cut off Kiana before she could finish, "We don't need to hear about that"

"I listen to you guys talk your girlfriends"

"We don't talk about their boobs" Jo pointed out, "And we don't need to hear about Juliens, so for our sake, shut up"

Kiana ignored Jo completely, "You think she'll take me back? I still love her, I don't think I ever stopped"

Kiana spent a straight hour talking about Julien, telling Naomi and Jo every little detail about her, which the two found awfully sweet that Kiana had paid this much attention to her.
