GM walked through the peaceful fields of the now empty Garden of Eden before he set down a picnic basket.

He then laid out a blanket and sat on it, even taking off his hat and cape as the sounds of phoenixes and various other immortal birds filled the air.

Truth be told, he hadn't been to Eden in some time. Many thought it was long gone, but it wasn't. It was as eternal as the realm of Heaven itself.

GM then took out a bottle of apple juice and a sandwich from his basket, smiling as the sounds of nature filled the silence.

...but slowly, his smile faded. He knew exactly why he was here.

It was that day. The anniversary of...The Fall.

The event that created Hell. The event that changed the universe and all of Creation forever. His son's rebellion. And everyone, to this very day, spoke of it in capital letters.

The Fall.

GM bit into his sandwich as he closed his eyes, already recalling the day. That horrible day where his family split apart.

Every single Elder and council member of Heaven was in the courtroom. Seraphim, Cherubim, Ophanim, and so much more.

And standing in the seats right below The Heavenly Father himself were the Seven Archangels. God's children.

God waited patiently, and there was nothing but utter silence in the courtroom. And then, there was the sound of rattling chains. His four eyes slowly looked down.

Then, about a dozen guards holding the chains brought in two people. One was a human woman wearing white cloth to cover her once completely exposed body.

The other was an Archangel wearing heavenly robes and a large tophat with a halo almost serving as a band across it. His wings were in chains, and so were his arms.

God stood from his seat. "I call Samael Morningstar to the stand."

The guards shoved Samael AKA Lucifer towards the front of the courtroom, and he looked around the room...before chuckling.

"I have to say, Father...I, uhh, didn't expect so much company-"

"You will only speak when spoken to, boy." God said as his eyes glowed gold. "Do you have any idea what you have done? Any at all?"

Lucifer looked up at his father. "...I do."

"...did Lilith put you up to this?" God asked. "Out of envy for Eve? Because she was serving her purpose better than her?"

Lilith's eyes narrowed and she gritted her teeth. "You made us his slave-!"

The guards put spears in front of her, forcing Lilith to remain in her spot.

Lucifer felt his blood boil at the sight before facing his father again. "No, Father. This was our idea."

"...why?"

"Why?" Lucifer asked before snarling. "You heard Lilith. Her and Adam were meant to be equals! But I saw firsthand that was not happening!!! He treated her like property!!! And you just sat there and watched!!! And when Lilith chose to run away, you created Eve to be completely obedient! She had no wants and desires of her own! What's the point of a life if you can't choose what you want in it!?!"

"You will not raise your voice at me, Samael." God said, his eyes narrowing.

Lucifer laughed. "Oh, yes! Shriek in horror at the sight of your son finally growing a backbone. Seems all you want is control...I can see where Michael gets it from."

Michael's eyes widened and he then stood. "Lucifer, you have no idea what you have-!

God suddenly growled at his son, commanding him to sit back down.

Michael, realizing how truly furious his father was, took a seat.

"Yeah, sit back down like the little pet you are, Michael." Lucifer sneered. "I know what you did...I bet you told Father what Lily and I did. How does anyone in this room think that free will is such a terrible thing!?!"

God then appeared right before his son. "YOU PRIDEFUL BOY!!! YOU HAVE RUINED EVERYTHING!!!"

"I ruined everything for you!" Lucifer sneered. "We gave Eve The Fruit of Knowledge!!! She has free will and so will the rest of humanity!!!"

"YOU HAVE NOT ONLY RUINED EVE'S PURPOSE, BUT YOU HAVE INTRODUCED EVIL INTO THE EARTH!!!" God boomed. "NOW SIN AND DARKNESS HAVE A REALM OF THEIR VERY OWN!!! THANKS TO YOU!!!"

Lucifer's eyes widened in horror. "...what?"

Lilith was in the same shocked state as her beloved before she shook her head. "N-no! You're attempting to deceive us!!!"

God faced Lilith before he lifted his hand, and The First Woman appeared right beside Lucifer.

"Why would I deceive you?" God asked. "You gave Eve the will...and now humanity and all future life will be subjected to the horrors I wanted to protect it from."

Lucifer looked down for a moment, his eyes wide before he looked at his father again. "H...how? W-we just gave Eve the ability to choose! T-that's not evil-!"

God then gestured to the large crystal ball in the middle of the room and it showed what was happening in Eden.

Eve was there...but she was grinning as she smacked Adam across the field. Blood was on her fist as her husband cowered.

Lilith's eyes widened. Normally, she would be happy that her formed husband was getting his karma, but...the look in Eve's eyes.

She was smiling at his pain.

"W...what is she doing?" Lilith asked.

God looked at the crystal ball himself. "...that fruit doesn't just give the knowledge of choice. It gives knowledge of good...and evil. When I created the universe, there was so little evil that it actually had a physical form just to sustain itself."

He then waved his hand and the crystal ball showed a shapeless slug of some kind. A gooey black substance surrounded in red eyes.

"...but now that Eve has bitten the Fruit of Knowledge and received its effects, she knows of evil...and she chose it." God said as he waved his hand again to show that the embodiment of evil was now gone.

Lucifer and Lilith watched in horror, unable to tear their eyes away from the crystal ball.

"...and now...here's what will happen." God said as he waved his hand a final time.

Eve was in Eden now, all by herself and rubbing her stomach. But then, she was suddenly face to face with the embodiment of evil, which was now in the shape of a person.

And instead of fleeing in terror...Eve just spread her arms wide, welcoming the being. The evil being lunged forward and began merging with The Second Woman.

Eve's laughter started to become completely inhuman as the black substance made its way inside her body, turning her skin a pale gray and her once brown hair a sickening black.

The crystal ball then displayed a possible future, with Eve's laughter still echoing. The once lush green grass of the Earth was becoming covered by evil's substance...and several humans were starting to commit several acts of sin.

Murder, destruction, enslavement, and various other horrible acts of utter chaos...and watching it all was Eve, with roots sprouting from her body and almost...infecting the other humans below her.

But Eve was transforming into a beast. The black substance completely enveloped her body, her hair was dancing on top of her hair like fire, and two extra arms sprouted from her sides. Her feet became hooves and wings that were nothing like the beautiful wings of the angels sprouted from her back.

It could only be described as a demon.

"...this is only one of many horrifying possibilities." God said as the image on the crystal ball faded. "Through your arrogance and stupidity...you two have subjected this peaceful realm and innocent lives to the horrors and desolation of sin!!!"

"N...no...no, no, no!" Lucifer said, standing back. "Y-you can fix it! You're God! You can-!"

"IF THERE WAS SOMETHING I COULD DO TO FIX IT, YOU WOULD NOT BE HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" God shouted, storming towards the two. "YOU HAVE FAILED AS THE LIGHTBRINGER AND AS MY SON!!! AND EVEN WORSE, I CAN'T ERASE YOUR TERRIBLE MISTAKE BECAUSE EVE IS ALREADY PREGNANT WITH ADAM'S CHILDREN!!!"

Lucifer was trembling at the anger of his father, stepping back as his chains rattled...but then...

Lilith stood in front of him, even though she was just as terrified. "Y-you scold us for something we had no idea was going to happen!!! O-our intentions were good-!"

"I DUBBED IT THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT FOR A REASON, LILITH!!! NOW YOU SCORN THE RACE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HELP CREATE!!! YOU SCORN THE REALM OF HEAVEN AND YOU SCORN THE EARTH THAT BIRTHED YOU!!!" God boomed.

The courtroom was in utter silence, with many of the Elders even fearing their leader's wrath as well.

"...you are as prideful as Samael, Lilith...you have turned your own creation into a mistake..." God sneered. "And now...I see it's only fitting that you forever witness the consequences of your actions..."

The guards then grabbed Lilith by her arms and began dragging her, with Lilith screaming and thrashing around, doing whatever she could to break free.

"NO!!! LET ME GO!!!" Lilith cried. "LUCIFER!!!"

"L...LILITH!!!" Lucifer exclaimed before he suddenly burst his chains open with holy light, his six wings spreading wide. He then dashed forward, effortlessly slamming both of the guards' faces into the floor.

He then snapped open Lilith's chains, with Lucifer then shielding her with his wings.

God stepped forward. "...you refuse your punishment after everything you've done? You refuse to take responsibility!?!"

"I WON'T LET YOU TAKE HER FROM ME...SHE IS MY EVERYTHING!!!" Lucifer screamed. "NOT THAT YOU WOULD KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT LOVE...YOU NEVER HAD ANY TO GIVE!!!"

But then, a figure flew from right behind God and dashed at Lucifer.

Michael. And he was holding a flaming sword.

Lucifer quickly summoned a trident and blocked the swing of the sword, sparks flying from the colliding weapons.

Michael's heavenly robes had turned to that of white and gold armor as he stared down his twin. "END THIS MADNESS, BROTHER!!!"

Lucifer's eyes glowed a bright gold as he pushed his brother back, gripping his trident tightly. "You...you call us mad? WE ONLY WANTED TO HELP!!!"

"And yet, you made everything worse!!!" Raphael cried as he and his siblings flew behind Michael. "You've ruined EVERYTHING, Samael!!!"

Lucifer breathed heavily before he looked behind him, watching his beloved pick up a holy spear.

"...if you want to go near her...you'll have to kill me." Lucifer sneered as his robes switched to holy armor as well. "I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!!!"

The Archangels took out their various weapons, and Michael was the first to charge.

His sword met the trident as sparks once again flew. Lucifer spun around his weapon as he deflected every swing of his twin's sword.

His wings then carried him right behind Michael as he swung his trident, but Michael just quickly threw his sword behind him to block the attack as the two clashed over and over again.

Eventually, Raphael flew in with a battle axe, holding it above his head.

Lucifer struck his trident into the ground and lifted himself into the air while gripping onto it, kicking Raphael in the face before he took his trident out again and then tossed it at Michael.

The trident hit Michael in his wing and sent him flying against the wall, trapping him as well.

Lucifer then quickly dodged the swing of Azrael's scythe before he grabbed his tophat and shoved it into the Angel of Death's face before punching and kicking him down.

Uriel and Camael were next, with Uriel swinging a blade at his brother while Camael held a flail. Lucifer quickly caught the spiked ball of the flail and threw his sister across the room before screaming in pain when Uriel's blade cut him.

The Angel of Wisdom lunged forward, only to get a knee slammed into his stomach and then punched across the face, forcing him to let go of his sword.

Lucifer caught the blade before it hit the ground and cut his brother across the chest with it before kicking him down. He then flew high into the air, throwing the blade at Jophiel, who just barely blocked it with her staff.

Gabriel then flew up to his brother, holding a spear as he pointed it at his brother. "SAMAEL, DON'T DO THIS!!!"

"Sorry, Gabriel!!!" Lucifer cried as he dashed forward in a burst of golden light, punching Gabriel in the face and then headbutting him back down onto the ground.

He then saw Jophiel and a few of the other guards heading towards...Lilith.

Lilith had swung her spear into a guard, her robes and skin now stained with golden blood as she stepped back since she had no idea how to fight.

"LILITH!!!" Lucifer cried as he flew forward, swatting Jophiel out of the way and then grabbing the first guard by their wings and swinging them into the other guards.

Jophiel managed to stop herself with her staff before she dashed over, hitting Lucifer in the side and then forcing him down. "Stop this, Lucifer!!! Please!!!"

Lucifer kicked Jophiel off before he then rushed over to his beloved. "Are you-!?"

"WATCH OUT!!!" Lilith screamed, but it was already too late.

Michael tackled Lucifer into the ground, trying to restrain him as his eyes glowed gold.

Lucifer then just barely lifted out his hand as his trident came flying back into it and he blasted his brother off of him with holy light.

The Morningstar Twins then took off into the air, clashing their weapons and blasting at each other with any ounce of power they had. Golden blood spilled onto their armor, which became more and more dented and damaged as the battle continued.

And every once in a while, his other siblings would try and help...but it seemed that Lucifer refused to let them have the upper hand at all and would just send them away as he continued fighting Michael in front of all of Heaven.

Eventually, Lucifer thrusted his trident forward and when Michael blocked the attack with his sword, Lucifer forced his trident downwards and caused his brother to let go of his sword.

Lucifer then blasted Michael down, watching him fall into the ground with a large crack forming on impact.

Eventually, everyone in the courtroom attacked Lucifer, but he continued to fend them off or blast them back. Bit by bit, the room was becoming destroyed with every attack.

And all God did was watch as the most powerful angel in Heaven fought with all his might.

Eventually, Lucifer blasted as many of the angels away as he could before he dashed forward, scooping Lilith into his arms as he flew out.

Lilith breathed heavily as she held onto Lucifer. "W-where are we going!?"

"Anywhere but here!" Lucifer said...before he screamed in pain as his wing was suddenly blasted with holy light.

"LUCIFER!!!" Lilith screamed before Michael returned once again, tackling his brother out of the air.

Lilith just barely caught herself on one of the many buildings of the golden city of Heaven before she turned around.

Lucifer was struggling to keep himself in the air as Michael dealt blow after blow onto him. But eventually, Lucifer crashed onto the ground with Michael holding him down.

"YOU CAN'T AVOID THIS, SAMAEL!!!" Michael screamed. "JUST STOP IT!!!"

"STOP...CALLING ME THAT!!!" Lucifer screamed as he slammed his elbow into his brother's face and he started to get much more brutal with his attacks.

He would use any kind of tactic to give him the upper hand against his twin: pressure points, ripping off his armor, and even scratching him. Michael stood strong, but eventually, Lucifer let out a devastating blast of holy energy that sent Michael flying across the city.

Lucifer breathed heavily, falling to his knees. He was exhausted from having to fight so many angels at once. "C...can't...g-give up...!"

He then saw a familiar figure run over to him, helping him stand.

"My love! Are you okay!?" Lilith cried, seeing the various bruises and wounds on her beloved's body.

Lucifer nodded. "I-I'll live-"

But then, lightning struck right across from them...and God appeared, his eyes now completely gold.

Lucifer quickly shielded Lilith again, breathing heavily.

God then began hovering above them. "...you have done enough damage..."

"Do your worst..." Lucifer sneered.

God then lifted his hand. "As Father of Creation and Heaven...I CAST YOU OUT, LUCIFER!!! WHERE YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN EXILE AND DAMNATION!!!"

Then, lightning struck right in between Lucifer and Lilith, shattering the ground.

"YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN SEE HEAVEN'S GATES!!! ONLY THE HATRED AND FAILURE YOU HAVE BROUGHT UPON YOURSELF!!!" The Heavenly Father boomed.

But then, Lilith...began to fall. She screamed as she reached out, but began to fall through the air.

"L I L I T H ! ! !"

Lucifer dove down after her...but his eyes widened when his wings suddenly began...burning.

Fire was starting to coat every single one of his feathers. It was an aching pain in his back, but he forced it down as he caught Lilith.

He then managed to turn them around, with his back and burning wings now facing the ground. He then shut his eyes tightly as he plummeted through the sky, falling from Heaven. The place he called home.

God was deathly silent as he watched every single moment of his son's fall until he was out of sight. And even so, he didn't speak another word.

Slowly, but surely, his children slowly walked behind him, all of them injured or exhausted from the fight.

"F...Father...?" Gabriel asked.

"...heal yourselves...then fix this mess..." God said as he teleported into his office. He stood there for a long time, just...processing.

His face was expressionless for a moment...before his legs and hands suddenly started to shake.

The Heavenly Father fell onto the floor, his hat falling right off his head as he had truly processed what he had just done.

Droplets of tears fell from his eyes and onto the floor...and God screamed into the empty space of his office as sniffles and sobs followed soon after.

GM's eyes opened as he returned to the present day and he took a deep breath, wiping his four eyes as he bit into his sandwich again and then cracked open the bottle of apple juice.

"...I didn't think this place was still here."

GM slowly turned around before he smiled sadly. "Hello, son."

Lucifer walked over. "This seat taken?"

"By your non-existent mother." GM joked.

Lucifer snorted before taking a seat besides his father.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your family?"

"Eh, Lily wants to get to know Emily more. She took her and Charlie out for a day." Lucifer smiled. "Besides, uhh...I don't think she remembers what day it is. Being alive for so long kind of...blends it all together."

GM's eyes softened. "Then, you can guess why I'm here."

"Yeah...where it all started." Lucifer said as he took off his hat. "Where I first met Lily...and where we gave Eve that apple..."

GM nodded. "The paradise I created for humanity before they would enter the Earth."

"...how is Roo anyhow?" Lucifer asked. "That's what Eve goes by now, right?"

GM sighed. "She's planning something, but...something tells me she isn't going to do it for a while. We'll be ready for whatever it is...if it's anything at all. Knowing her, she might just have us think she's going to do something to make us paranoid."

"...yeah...sounds like her..." Lucifer said.

GM then turned towards his son, briefly recalling how he used to be even shorter...and how his eyes were so filled with wonder.

"...I'm so sorry, son..." GM said. "For all of it."

Lucifer looked at his father and just smiled softly. "...we can't change the past, Dad. But...we can change the future."

GM wiped his eyes again and he chuckled. "When did you get so wise?"

"Whatcha talkin' about? I've always been wise. Uriel's got competition with me around!" Lucifer laughed. "In fact, y'know what would've been a better punishment for me and Lily?"

GM, surprised by how well he was taking this subject, hummed. "What?"

"Turning me into a human." Lucifer said. "I'd still be banished, but Lily and I would basically have to help fix humanity."

GM thought about it for a moment. "...not a bad punishment. Certainly not as severe."

Lucifer shrugged. "Came to mind one day."

"Well, there probably is a timeline where I did just that. It may be considered a sin, but I'm slightly envious of that timeline if that is the case." GM laughed.

Lucifer laughed with him.

And so, father and son talked about whatever came to mind while eating everything from the picnic basket.

Neither perfect, but both finally...happy.
