A child I was
When I first knew
My role on Earth
My job to do
The wind, it blew
The fire raged
My soul anew
No longer caged
Memories surged
In my mind
Of times long past
Friends left behind
Of journeys made
And debts thus paid
Days and nights
Of endless fights
I am no more
What I once was
A nameless being
That time is past
My spirit chose
This human life
It knew this choice
Would bring such strife
So don't you dare
Judge me by size
The planet's light
Shines in my eyes
My past lives
Centuries more
Within reach if
I open the door
