A LOUD CAR horn went off as Lucy and Astoria ran through the streets of England. It was a particularly cloudy day. Not much was going on. Just the same old. Astoria was to spend her day by going to school and then hang out with the Pevensie siblings.
Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy—the Pevensie siblings ( age in that order ). They had recently moved to Astoria's school. Susan was Astoria's age, and the two found comfort in each other fairly quickly. She soon came to find out that Susan had three other siblings. Peter was a nice boy. A bit rash and self-centered at times, but he was like a brother to Astoria. Edmund seemed a bit quiet at first—more reserved. But she quickly took a liking to him, nevertheless. Lucy was the youngest out of the four, and Astoria immediately took the young girl under her wing, seeing Lucy as her own little sister.
"Watch where you're going!" an angry driver hollered at the two girls after slamming his car brakes to avoid hitting the two girls.
"We're sorry!" Astoria and Lucy called back.
"You need to be more careful!" Astoria scolded. "I don't want you dying on me just yet!"
"Well it'll be Peter dying if we don't hurry up!" Lucy shot back.
The two continued racing across the street up to Susan. She was reading a magazine as a boy with geeky glasses was trying to catch her attention, though she did look completely uninterested.
Typical Susan, Astoria snickered to herself.
"Susan!" Lucy yelled as she and Astoria got closer and closer to her.
"Peter is being an idiot again," Astoria told Susan.
"You'd better come quick!" said Lucy.
The two girls rushed after Lucy leaving the the boy terribly perplexed.
"So who's he?" Astoria grinned as the two chased after Lucy. "He isn't too bad. He seems like quite a nice person. The glasses do look a bit silly though. Do you like him?"
"Oh shut it," Susan rolled her eyes as Astoria laughed in amusement.
Loud chanting could be heard echoing from down the stairs as Astoria furrowed her eyebrows.
The three had to push through the crowd of people to see Peter fighting against two other boys—double his size. He was roughly thrown against the wall and kneed in the stomach, before Edmund came running down the steps, wanting to direct his brother away.
"Edmund!" Lucy yelled, but her brother didn't listen as he attempted to pull the others off Peter. The fight continued escalating further until the sound of whistles blowing coming from security interrupted the crowd's chanting.
"Break it up!" A policeman ordered. "That's enough. Come on. Act your age!"
The boys stopped and not long after, the crowd dispersed, and soon all that was left were the five of them, who were sat on the bench waiting for the train to arrive.
"You're welcome," Edmund snapped bitterly hinting for an apology from his brother.
"I had it sorted," Peter retorted.
"Yeah, totally. You were gonna get beaten to a pulp, Peter." Astoria said.
Susan sighed. "What was it this time?"
"He bumped me," Peter shrugged.
"So you hit him?" asked Lucy.
"That's not very smart, now is it?" Astoria said.
"No. After he bumped me, they tried to make me apologize. That's when I hit him." said Peter.
"Why can't you just walk away?" Susan sighed disappointedly.
"I shouldn't have to!" Peter complained. "I mean, don't you ever get tired of being treated like a kid?"
"Um, we are kids," Edmund reminded him.
"I wasn't always," Peter said, and Astoria drew her eyebrows together, in utter confusion.
Susan glared at Peter, as if asking him to shut up, and all of the siblings glanced over in Astoria's direction, eyeing her oddly. "Why are you guys looking at me as if I sprouted horns?"
Peter simply ignored Astoria's question. "It's been a year. How long does he expect us to wait?"
"I think it's time to accept that we live here," Susan said. "It's no use pretending any different."
At this point, Astoria had no clue as to what nonsense they were going on about and began to pick her nails as she awaited for the train to arrive.
Susan then saw the geeky boy earlier from the magazine stand, and Astoria smirked.
"Pretend you're talking to me." Susan demanded.
"We are talking to you," Edmund blinked in confusion.
"Ow!" Lucy randomly exclaimed, jumping up from the bench.
"Be quiet, Lucy!" Susan scolded.
"You don't need to get all—ouch! Something pinched me!" Astoria flinched, also standing up from the bench.
"Ouch! Something pinched me." Astoria flinched.
"Hey, stop pulling!" Peter called out.
"I'm not touching you!" Edmund argued.
"What is that?" asked Susan.
Astoria watched as a train started to rapidly move past them into... nowhere...?
"It feels like magic," Lucy said.
"What are you on about?" Astoria asked, looking at Lucy as if she were mad.
"Quick, everybody hold hands," Susan ordered.
"I'm not holding you hand!" Edmund said disgustingly to Peter.
"Shut it!" Astoria scolded.
Peter went against Edmund's wishes and grabbed his hand. They watched as the train continued racing past them into nowhere and the bricks being pulled away. The luggage, the seat, the platform, and the station completely vanished. Papers were flying everywhere. The ceiling caved in and the archway crumbled to reveal a beach...?
"How are none of you freaking out right now?" Astoria yelled out in fear. "Am I going to die?"
The five soon found themselves in an oceanic paradise with soft white sand, mountains in the distance, rocks taller than the trees surrounding them. They stepped out into the sunlight. Susan and Lucy smiled at each other, and ran off into the water with Peter and Edmund following closely behind. They jumped into the water and started splashing around.
Peter looked at Astoria's disheveled appearance and the shocked look on her face, still on the sand. "Well at least you're not dead yet."
