Prologue - I Hold On
Stadium, flashes of lights, crowds screaming, the voices of excited fans, adrenaline pumping through their veins.
Smiles stretched so wide their cheeks ached, but they didn't stop, they continued to jump and scream; cheering on.
The tvs on either side of the stage zeroed in on the figure that walked across the stage to the front, standing in front of the microphone. The figure smiled, feeling the good chemicals in their brain react to this energy that surrounded the stage, the outside concert being perfect for this night, this night of celebration.
The fans were more excited it seemed, being able to witness history being made right in front of them free of charge at this pop up concert. This concert was by no means fancy as concerts they have had in the past, but there was a reason for that, this figure standing before them was celebrating his life, her life, their life, everyone's lives.
The stage lights turned on, shining millions of colors upon him, transfixing on the dark hair of the teenage idol, shimmering in the light, cobalt green eyes shining in glee.
He could feel his mouth stretching wide into a grin. Glanced down to his wrist, holding onto the neck of his electric guitar, leather gloves ready to press down on the strings. The notes playing out in his mind as he looked to his other wrist, nodding to himself.
He lifted his right hand, pulling down the sleeve of his jacket, exposing the skin to the chill of the autumn air. The crowd seemed to cheer louder at this as he showed off the tattoo on his wrist. Covering the old scars of the battle he had fought against when he first started out as a idol.
He didn't speak about this to anyone until this past week in a live video on the internet to his fans. When someone commented about taking their own life at that moment, wanting to, not knowing who to turn to. It was a cry for help. He couldnt be there for them physically, but he could show them what he has struggled through himself, he could show them that it does get better, that the world isn't against them, the world is for them. He wants them to live and love for themselves, not for others. Others hold no control over your life, others may try to pressure you, but they can never truly grasp ahold of your thoughts and actions. You can do this.
The chat went wild, and now he stands here today at this pop up concert in celebration of life, in the battles many have fought to get here. He plays for those alive fighting, and for those who fought as hard as they could until they couldn't anymore. He is here for everyone.
He breathed out before taking in a small intake of break, glancing to the side, nodding to the bass guitarist. The bass guitarist looked back to the drummer, tapping his foot against the stage, the count off beginning. The drummer followed suit, clacking her sticks together, counting under her breath.
"Hey," He began, the notes and chords began to strum. "From the moment of my opened eye. Been looking for a guided light to lead me on my way." He took a quick breath in, his eyes flashing with determination, "Yeah. Lost-Struggling to make the top. A slipping grip can't hold me up. It's the game of life we play~" The lights shining down on his turned off simultaneously, then flashed with the wild color of the ocean.
"When everything comes crashing down!"
"Be at your door when I hear the sound." He sung out, the activation rattling his vocal chords, "You say the word and I stay the night~!" He walked forward, taking the microphone off of the stand, letting his guitar dangle across his front, the strap across his back holding it up from falling. "You wouldn't text if you were gone." He jumped off of the stage, his feet planting into the dirt, walking past the security who kept the crowd at bay, his words changing the feelings of the crowd, "You wouldn't keep me in your phone, unless you knew that you were wrong~" The small pause, the draining of the music from the small climax of the song slowing before steadily building up again. His green eyes reflected light blue, almost silver, in the light shining down on him, the power inside of him helping him walked within the crowd, no one making a move to grab at him. "Now, from this moment rolling up. A speeded drink and hold it up."
"You and I we lost our way." He hummed, grip tightening on the microphone. "You, a cheated light and ran away~!" The drone up above followed his form make its way through the crowd, "And I got stuck with a knife in me."
"And this pain won't go away (go away). But still." The live feed of the broadcast stretched across many countries, fans glued to their screen, live tweeting, the realization dawning on them. The first song of this pop up concert, was a new one. He created a song for such an occasion, that endearing factor served through the fanbase at different points in the song he sung for them.
"When everything comes crashing down~!" He could feel tears welling in his eyes, the floodgates threatening to spill over, the water being held back by a dam of determination to get through the rest of this song without crying. "Be at the your door when I hear the sound."
"You say the word and I will stay the night.".
Tapping, drumming of fingers against his desk, headphones plugged in, listening in. His foot tapped against the matting of his floor, his stationery chair shifting slightly forward and back as he pushed off of the flooring a couple of times, nodding along to the lyrics, to the voice that calmed him.
"You wouldnt text if you were gone." He moved his hands, running his fingers through his hair, pushing long bangs back, undeniably wanting to get a more clear view of the singer. Said singer was somewhere in the crowd, hard to be picked out, donned in dark colors, mod of black hair not helping pick him out among the bodies, but the clearing of space between two sides told him that's where he was.
"You wouldn't keep me in your phone, unless you knew that you were wrong~!" He stopped, staying in one spot. The singer rose his hand, reaching for the sky. "But I hold on~!" He stated in song, the voluminous of his voice rattling the teenager's heart and mind, swells of emotions and thoughts running through him, urges to keep pushing forward.
"But I hold on~" He repeated, "But I hold on to dearest life until your gone!"
"I'm out of the frame don't hold your breath. I'm used to the pain but baby don't forget."
"It's all fun and games until the final step."
(That's when you overstep.)
"You know that I'm weak you exploit that yeah. I'm down on my knees when you have placed your bet. Keep telling myself it's the last if it." He couldn't stop listening, he felt like he had been listening to this song for an hour now, his homework long forgotten, he didn't want the song to end. He didn't want this feeling to end. He wished so badly to be there.
"But I hold on~!" Bodies stood, frozen, the raw emotion in the idol's voice, the tears beginning to cascade down his cheeks in the public eye.
"When everything comes crashing down!"
"Be at the your door when I hear the sound."
"You say the word I will stay the night."
"You wouldnt text if you were gone."
"You wouldn't keep me in your phone, unless you knew that you were wrong~" His lungs were on fire, adrenaline pumping in his veins as he belted out the last few scales.
"But I hold on."
"But I hold on~"
"But I hold on to dearest life until your gone~!!!" The sound of the bass, and his electric guitar slowly fading away carried the song into silence, the sound of excited screams and cheers filled with praises flooded into his ears again.
He smiled, panting as tears began to dry on his cheeks, he gripped ahold of the neck of his guitar, realizing somewhere during the song, he had lost grip on the microphone, as it was no longer in his hand, and was being held by a fan out towards him, shaking in her skin, overwhelmed that she was doing it.
He chuckled, thanking her, taking the microphone back into his grip. He certainly lost himself in the moment there for a second. If he had lost this microphone to a crazed fan, he would never hear the end of it. It was expensive as hell too.
He took another breath in, his heart rate slowly going back to normal 80-98 bpm. He walked across the crowd, the security now really having to do their job without the help of his voice to keep the fans at bay. He began to speak, "Thank you to everyone who is listening to me speak right now! Whether it is here in body, through the live video, or in soul, not be able to make it to tune in. I appreciate all of you!" He stated over the volume of cheering, "I never open these kinds of things with a new song, but tonight is an exception. This song is named, 'I hold on'. I urge you all to hold on as long as possible, I believe in you, we believe in you. Everyone in the crowd right now, people listening, people not listening- Believe in you." He reached the beginning of the stage, the bass guitarist offering a hand down to him to be pulled up. The Idol gave him a small nod, taking his hand and help of getting back on to the stage. "Throughout the next few hours, on those screens, they will display numbers for you to contact anyone who is willing to listen, The Crisis Text line. You are free to text as well if you are uncomfortable to speak, deaf, or mute, whatever your reason is to not call. The option to text is there for you!" He moved along, placing the microphone back onto its stand securely. "Now, as much as I would love to talk about this all night, I know that most of you are here to hear me sing." He heard the loud chant of 'Yes!' ringing through the crowd, a giggle escaping his lips, he could only imagine the gifs or clips people saved of that giggle to put into a compilation later.
"Very well! I love you all, and shall give you what you want, guess what the next song is and you get boasting points!" The pop up concert and live stream continued onward. The Idol, Singer, Songwriter, Musician, by the name of Sato Daichi's singing voice igniting the flames in their hearts. His relieved and excited grin never drooping as he sung.
The phone and headphones were left carelessly on the desk, the boy who was watching the live stream no longer seen.

Publishing 2 stories in the same day? Yes. I'm going to regret this later surely.
But I have 3 bottles of water, and like 2 cups of tea today so I am just feeling loads of energy right now, I'm currently drinking out of my fourth bottle of water and a thermos full of hot tea so- Hydration yeah.
Sorry I'm rambling cause I feel like just bouncing off of the walls right now like Gran Torino.
I finally watched Season 4 of MHA, and that got me to finally be like 'fuck it' and just publish two mha stories today cause why not~
I'm really hyped for this story, cause like, really reminds me of old fanfictions of where people just placed songs in the middle of the chapter, so like their oc could belt it out and it was both annoying and amazing. But I did it in a way that is better and more incorporated with the narrative. Cause the Oc is, well, an Idol.
If you do not know what an Idol is- BTS.
I'm just going to say BTS.
Sato Daichi is basically that but he isn't in a group of young boys singing and dancing and yada yade ya.
He is a solo artist, and inspiration for his character came to be because of the song he sings in this chapter.
Thank you random shuffle discovery list on Amazon music for recommending me this song, or else I would have never created this fanfiction :)
Updates will be slow, cause I focus more on Sound Waves and Opposites, but you will get updates!
This IS a m/m pairing, if you don't like that, kindly leave.
If you don't like the fact that this isn't a Tododeku or Todobaku fic, you can either kindly leave, or suck it up. There is plenty of that content anywhere else.
Also no smut, I don't write smut. Never have, never will.
I know it is popular with m/m pairings, but it ain't happening here.
Thank you all for reading, and please let me know what you think and I hope you all have a wonderful day! Talk to you all later! -Golden
