catalina is an enigma to say the least. the girl seems to be rather reserved and quiet. she's the picture of the good girl stereotype. she's always giving short answers to questions and polite nods. she tends to smile sweetly most of the time but keep her mouth shut. most people think that's all cat is: a very nice, yet very quiet and boring girl. and that's fine, nothing wrong with that. they're are plenty of perfectly sweet, yet slightly uninteresting people in the world. that's perfectly normal and acceptable. so cat is just someone like that, right? wrong.

cat is reserved, but she's anything but boring. she's a storm and a riot within. catalina is witty, opinionated, and wickedly intelligent. that's a fact only a very, very scarce amount of people know. her sense of humor is rather dry, and the girl has always been introverted. the most cunning of people always seem to be misunderstood and underestimated, and that's exactly the case with cat. there's no large reason for why she's so withdrawn from most people, she just is. it's cat's nature to keep her thoughts inward and not open up to anyone. she may be all these things within her head (humorous, intelligent, confident), but she doesn't mind keeping all that in her head. this girl is so smart she could take over the world, but no one even knows.

catalina comes from big money. she's filthy rich. her family chain of high end hotels. that keeps the cash flowing. cat's father is graham johnson, the heir to the johnson hotel chain. he met her mother, kathrine, because she was actually the daughter of one of the cleaning ladies. it's a cute rags to riches story, but we're not telling catalina's parents' story, we're telling hers. cat was the third born child and the youngest. she has two older brothers; william and jason. they're a tight bunch, and her two brother's know her rather well. they're smart enough to know that their sister isn't what most people think she is. so yes, cat had a happy and luxurious childhood. there's not much to tell about it.

when cat turned eighteen, she got accepted into college in her home town. she's studying business as a major, with a special interest in accounting. she moved into the penthouse suite of one of her families' hotels, and she's been living pretty lavishly ever since.

that's all fine and dandy, but let's get to a little information on our scenario, alright? so, you're oc's family has always been close friends with catalina's family. your parents go way back, you probably go to the same snobby country club, the whole shebang. the one thing is, your oc had never really gotten to know cat very well. she never let him in, she was polite but boring and quiet. so why wouldn't your oc assume that she was just the boring good girl. that was perfectly normal and expected. she was beautiful, and you'd had plenty of conversations (mostly small talk), but nothing really happened. then one night, your family was hosting a party or something and both of you had lots of the expensive wine that flowed throughout the party. something was different. cat was quiet, but there was something unspoken between her and your oc. the two ended up going to your oc's room and well, you know. it was surprising and good, yet catalina was gone in the morning before your oc ever woke up. maybe there was more to the family friend than your oc ever thought? wait... didn't she have a boyfriend? this was confusing. and that was the last time your oc saw catalina before two weeks later on the fateful camping trip.
