I've always had a bitter hatred for the phrase out with the old year out with the old me that started when I was about 6.

I could never understand why people chose a random date of 364 other ones to 'promise' to change themselves.

Not only do most never follow through on this many don't realize that you can change literally at any point that you make the realization that something needs to change.

Now I do understand that there is an inspirational part of it, but as long as you know something needs changing you really could change anytime.

You don't have to wait for the magic snap of the New Year's fingers to change anything. It's not working voodoo magic on you to keep you confined to the same person you always were.

You can do something about it now.

So, why do the few people who follow their New Year's resolution wait?
