Serena's POV.
Luna and I ate breakfast the next morning quicker than I've ever ate before. I was eager to get my new Pokémon. A new friend, a new journey.
"Ready to catch Ralts?" Luna asked.
"I'm more than ready! Are we leaving camp here?"
"Yep." Luna nodded. "Come on, there's a rare chance you'll find a Ralts so we better get one quick!"
"Right." I smiled, and dashed off.
Luna sprinted after me, and we were soon running in the depths of the route.
"I found one! Why's it blue?" I asked, looking at the Ralts.
"Holy- that's a shiny Ralts! You want that one," Luna explained.
She scanned her Pokédex on the Ralts.
"It even has the nature modest! You need to get that Ralts now," Luna replied. "Here, take this quick ball. Usually, us mentors will let our students figure out how to catch it, but sense this is a Pokémon that can run away very easily by teleporting, I'll have to show you."
"Okay." I nodded. "You don't have to show me anything."
I threw the quick ball at the Ralts. Since the PokèBall was thrown on the first turn of the battle, it increased the chance of it catching.
Ralts quickly obliged and stayed in the PokèBall.
"I caught it!" I smiled.
I dashed over to the PokèBall. I picked it up, and looked back at Luna.
"Is the rest of today going to be training?" I asked.
"Yup. Take this, it's an exp booster," Luna replied.
She tossed me a light blue machine.
"Thanks. Do you have the mega stone already?" I asked.
"Of course not," Luna giggled. "You'll have to find the keystone and the mega stone yourself."
"But that'll take forever," I sighed.
"Not really, it'll only take 2 days," Luna shrugged. "The Gardevoirite is conveniently right next to the keystone area."
I nodded. "Okay then. Ralts, come on out!"
"Ralts," It mumbled.
Ralts looked around towards me. At the start, it was still, and had no reaction. Afterwards, it smiled and jumped up on my shoulder.
"Ralts," I chuckled. "That tickles!"
"Ralts!" It laughed.
It jumped down, taking the exp booster out of my hand. It soon dashed out of the area we were previously in.
"Ralts, wait up!" I chuckled.
When I found the Pokémon again, it was battling a Wurmple. It two-shot it with Confusion.
"Good job, Ralts." I smiled. "Just don't run away again, okay?"
It looked at me questionably.
"If you run away from me, I might never be able to see you again."
It still looked at me confusingly.
"Okay look, do you know what mega evolution is?" I asked.
Ralts nodded.
"If we ever want to master that, we have to be next to each other at all times." I smiled.
"Ralts." Ralts nodded.
Ralts stuck with me through the rest of the day. We battled more, leveled up more, and had a good time with each other.
I scanned Ralts with my PokèDex right when we got back to camp.
"Hey, Ralts is level 19!" I smiled. "That means she'll become a Kirlia tomorrow."
"Ralts, make sure not to touch my bag tomorrow then you evolve. There's a Dawn stone in there. I don't want you accidentally evolving into a Gallade. Yes, you're a female, but who knows the true wonders of the Pokémon world?" Luna ordered.
"Ralts!" Ralts smiled.
She dug into some Pokémon food. Luna and I ate some Magikarp she made over the campfire. It was really good food, it was better than the sandwiches Valencia had.
"So, how do you feel being away from the kingdom for more than a day?" Luna asked.
Ralts went to sit in my lap. I pet Ralts as I answered Luna's question.
"Great. I just miss Ash, though. Everything seems less magical without him," I sighed. "I mean, that's what happens when you fall in love with somebody."
"Right." Luna smiled. "My love got blown away by Lysandre's bomb. I wish I could relate."
"Really?" I asked.
Ralts even seemed concerned. I hugged Ralts close to my chest.
"We were really close... his name was Seth..."
Luna started crying. I went over to hug Luna. Ralts gripped onto my leg, feeling sympathy for Luna.
"I'm so sorry, Luna."
"No you don't get it... that was the second time he bombed us. Your dad went away the first time," Luna shivered. "The second time was just cold-hearted evil. He blew up half of what was left of the village after the first bomb."
"Are you telling me that people hide the fact that the second bomb even existed?" I asked.
"No... Lysandre brainwashed everybody left. I-I... I ran away before he could reach me. I was in danger for almost a year running away from them."
"Brainwashed? That means that they could all be working for Team Flare right now!" I yelled.
"I-it could. The fact that Lysandre is an aura master doesn't help either," Luna sighed. "Lysandre's your uncle, Serena."
"What?" I jumped. "Wait wait, that just escalated way too quickly!"
"Riley was brothers with Ash's mentor, Luke, and he was also brothers with Lysandre," Luna sighed. "I'm Luke's daughter, nothing to worry about here. I'm not secretly Lysandre's daughter or anything. We're cousins till the end."
I nodded in reply. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"We didn't want it to influence your decision. Also, mentors are known to only focus on their training, so we couldn't really talk about that," Luna explained. "I promise you, I'm not Lysandre's daughter."
I nodded in reply. I took a deep breath, and faced the stars. I watched the same light blue flame fly around in the sky.
Deoxys, what are you trying to tell me?
