Ash and I sat in silence after I asked that question.
"I... don't know," Ash shivered. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if Lysandre killed you."
"Let's pretend I didn't even ask that question. That won't even be something we need to worry about because we're aura guardians, and he can't beat us."
"Right." Ash nodded.
"I love you, Ash, nothing will ever happen to us, I promise," I replied.
"I love you too," Ash stated.
He pulled me into a kiss and we stayed there for a good minute. I never wanted his lips to leave mine. If Ash died because of Team Flare, I'd have no one left. The kiss we shared refreshed my mind. My stress went away without hesitation.
Soon, I pulled out of the kiss to go to my bed.
"Goodnight," I said.
"Goodnight," Ash replied.
I fell asleep with ease.
Soon enough, the sun rose from the ground, and it was morning. Ash and I put our clothes on, and then left the Pokémon Center. We were setting out on our adventure, finally.
The breeze blew my hair around. I looked at the forest's dirt path we walked on from Pallet Town. It was full of dust and ashes from the bomb that hit yesterday. I turned around to see a nicer route. Ash and I strolled down there. It was a forest filled with beautiful oak trees.
"The nature in Kanto is beautiful," I stated, walking down the dirt path.
"Yeah. We're about 50 miles away from the next city," Ash explained.
"So it's going to take us about 10 hours?" I asked.
"About," Ash shrugged. "It's fine, though. We're on an adventure, right?"
"Right." I smiled.
We walked down the path some more. Ahead of us, I noticed a girl with light blue, icy-colored hair. Her skin tone was pale and had beautiful sky blue eyes. I looked at her clothing. She had a blue crop-top with some denim, ripped-jean shorts. She had a little necklace on, it had a sapphire in the middle with a silver chain. I'm guessing she liked the color blue!
I looked at Ash, wondering if he knew who she was. Ash just shrugged.
The girl turned around towards us.
"Hey, who are you?" I asked, walking down towards her.
"I'm Valencia. What's brought you here?"
"We're just on a little journey," Ash explained.
"Really? You don't seem like it," Valencia replied. "It's not little, anyways."
"How did you know?" I asked, shocked.
"You're aura guardians." She smirked.
"How did you know that? Wait, only another aura guardian could tell that we're-"
"Exactly," Valencia interrupted. "So, once again I may ask, why are you here?"
"We're trying to kill Team Flare," I whispered.
Valencia nodded. "You're very inexperienced. Do you even know anything about aura magic?"
"Our fathers who had the ability before us died. They couldn't teach us anything," Ash explained.
"So you've never heard of the secret aura village?" Valencia asked.
"What? Secret aura village?" I replied.
"You have a lot to learn. Would you like to master your aura magic? I sense potential in both of you. More than I can sense in anyone in the aura village. You're unique," Valencia explained.
"I can't see why not, we both don't really know where we're going," Ash shrugged.
"Honestly, yeah," I chuckled.
"Good. Follow me, I'll teach you the basics before you go into the village. They'll want to see you do the typical aura procedures," Valencia explained.
"Okay." I nodded.
Valencia turned her back on us, and started walking deep into the woods. We followed her through fallen down logs and over rivers. Soon, we discovered ourselves on an open prairie.
"This area is blocked off by woods on all sides of it, each as thick as the previous," Valencia explained. "I'm not as talented as most aura guardians, because well, I'm not a guardian."
"What do you mean?" Ash asked.
"I'm an aura user. I said that I was an aura guardian earlier to limit your confusion."
"I thought you were going to reveal yourself as a secret Team Flare member," I chuckled.
Ignoring me, Valencia went on explaining things.
"After some got destroyed from Team Flare, everyone else made a village. You can only see the village if you're an aura user, guardian, or master," Valencia explained. "You can become masters. You're considered guardians right now because you have the potential to become a master. Users don't have that potential. Only a few people are chosen to be guardians, and rarely do they become masters."
Valencia snapped her fingers, and an obstacle course appeared. I gasped at what Valencia just created.
There were platforms of wood (that looked like American Ninja Warrior) appeared. They were spread apart from each other with a pool of water below it. After that, were was a ladder you had to climb up. You'd climb some monkey bars and fall onto another ladder. Once you were on that next platform, there was another test. There was a circle of cushion that you had to walk on, but it wasn't that easy. There was a pillar of wood with branches poking out of it. They had mats above and below, etc. You had to duck at certain parts, and jump over some. After that, you'd click a button, saying you were finished.
"What... is... this?" I asked.
"Here, I'll show you," Valencia replied.
She sprinted over to the start of the course. Valencia hopped on the wooden platforms at the beginning of the course with ease. She placed one foot on each platform every time she hopped to increase momentum. Valencia's light blue hair glistened in the sun as she climbed up the ladder. She soon climbed on the monkey bars as I thought she would. She hung on the last monkey bar, looking at the ladder. Valencia started swinging herself back and forth, and soon released herself. She gripped onto the ladder, and somehow Valencia didn't fall in the water below her. She climbed up, and made it to the swinging mechanism. Valencia ducked and jumped with perfect timing, and hit the button immediately afterwards.
"Your turn!" Valencia yelled.
"Uh, what?" I asked.
"Physical training is a part of learning aura. If you don't have physical training, then how's your body supposed to produce the power needed to release aura?" Valencia asked.
"Right..." I sighed.
Valencia's Lucario popped out of her PokèBall.
"Hello, everyone. I see we have some new aura guardians, huh?"
"You're right, Lucario," Valencia replied. "They're going to try the obstacle course now."
"Everyone always fails at this for at least 3 days."
"Well, they'll have to keep on trying until they finish," Valencia explained.
I took a deep breath after hearing that.
We had to do this to beat Team Flare. We'll be planning our revenge, Lysandre.
