The wind continued to swirl in the air, while a light tapping sound came from the distance. In fact, the tapping sound came from a small ginger mammal.. Outis....

After seeing the flier, he was slightly outraged, but he calmed down a bit, taking deep breaths, and clearing his mind with that image, of the clover field he dreamt about.. Its been a while, actually, since he'd had that nightmare-ish dream.. How long ago was that? Two years ago? Maybe more? Maybe less? That question he pondered almost made him forget about the reason he was mad at all. It was not enough to make him forget about Rei, however..

Actually, when he's first met Rei, he'd quite literally, came out of nowhere.. And why would Rei, hang out with a pokemon like Outis every day? It was quite puzzling to him, as he tried to recall that certain day.. Come to think of it, Rei was still a mystery to Outis.. He didn't know.. Anything about Rei..

The small eevee was tapping his paws on the hard concrete with each step. "Where could he have possibly gone.." he thought to himself, sniffing the misty air for a scent. His mind was still in twists, but he woke up to reality a bit more.. These past years had been more of Outis forgetting about reality.. Well, his life wasn't THAT bad or traumatic, so what's the reason to want to disappear from reality? Maybe it's a reason he forgot..

"Or maybe." the eevee stopped in his tracks.. "Maybe it's because of her.." .

Its been so long since he's seen her.. His mother.. And what was the reason? He was scared of what she would do to him.. He was scared to see her face twist into a sinister expression.. He couldn't really remember whatever happened that one night, but images of a scarlet liquid shooting out of his mouth faintly blurred in his mind, and thinking about his mother in the context made him feel like he wanted to run away.. He wanted to hide.. He never wanted to see her again..

Suddenly, a scent so sharp tooken Outis back by surprise. He staggered back, covering his small sensitive nose with his paws. He then used his eyes, scanning the area, not daring to un-cover his nose.

Nothing.. At least it seemed like nothing... Not even his good eyes can see the thing that could have caused that scent. That didn't make any sense...

Outis looked back at the sky. The shine of the small stars were breaking through the pitch black, up above. They looked like diamonds, twinkling up there so high.. The stars never looked clear in this place, them usualy looking dull from the slightly visible clouds.

The more Outis looked up, the more he forgot he was supposed to be doing something. He shuddered, while still covering his nose. The eevee ran a bit farther out, trying to get rid of the sharp inhale of whatever made that smell. Why must he get distracted so easily?

As soon as Outis felt safe, soon stopping at a small crack in a greyish white concrete building. He gingerly felt across the smooth, yet rough cold walls, trying to remember that he is existing.. That he can feel something.

Outis gave a sigh of relief, and thought about taking a little break for a small while. Already...

No, the time he's been looking was short.. Even though the strange scent worn him down.

The eevee braced himself, trying to give a determined look, that would make him feel braver that he actually was. He palmed his face, knowing that won't do anything, and he chuckled in his foolishment.

It all was confusing, really.. Why did he care so much about that vulpix? Yes, he saved his life, but he literally is a random Fox pokemon.. He appeared out of nowhere.. Actually? Why was he thinking about this? Of course he cared about Rei.. He's known him for two years, but.. "But.. He doesn't understand me.. Not that much anyway.."

Outis then realized the world felt a bit less exciting, and meaningful than before. He was confused, not knowing the reason why. He looked up, with his big green eyes staring blankly around him, as the dim moonlight lay upon him.

Outis sighed, and sniffed the air once more, taking small steps around him. He widened his eyes, and sniffed more.

The scents around him were.. Dull.. That never happened before..

His nose twitched.. He couldn't really smell anymore? That was impossible to happen. It couldn't happen. There was no way anything could cause that? Right? Not even that sharp scent down the alley. 

He stared at the ground.. This was going to make his current task a lot harder.

Rei appeared in his mind again. Why would he be looking for that vulpix? He'll probably be fine.. Yeah.. He'll be alright. He's a tough fox, why was Outis so worried? He can't be missing. He'll come back, soon enough..  

Outis walked away empty handed, just with a messed up nose, and a lower self esteem. He was a disappointment, except, he knew it for sure this time. all that useless procrastinating for no reason. He should have never left in the first place.
