_Chapter 5_
Two years later...
A slightly larger evee was walking through the streets.. A red vulpix lagging behind
"C'monnnnn" Rei whined. "Let's go somewhere else.. You never want to go explore with me..". "Well, what if we get lost? Then my mother would be worried.." Outis said quietly.. "What does it matter to you? You haven't seen her in two years!" Rei yipped.
"She probably forgotten about you already! I don't even think she bothered to look for you!". Outis's ears went down, and his pupils turned into small slits. "You. Take. That. Back.." The evee snarled. "Oh, you're impossible Outis.." Rei rolled his eyes. "Well, if you want to go explore, then do it by yourself" Outis pointed out. "But its not fun without you.." Rei mumbled. "Y'know what, Fine! I'll go by myself then!" Rei stammered.
"Uh huh.. Good luck" Outis mumbled, not even taking a glance at Rei. Rei groaned, and disappeared into an alley..
Outis looked at the sky, a gloomy shade of grey and blue.. It was getting darker, and darker.. Outis sighed, and walked to the place he and Rei usually hung out together.. He ran through the streets, disappeared into a dark corner, and jumped over a wall, almost falling over.. He was then greeted by the comforting sight of two blankets, laying near the edge on a wall.. If someone were to walk close enough, they would see a large, breathtaking portion of a small town..
Outis sat down on one of the soft fluffy blankets.. This one was the same blue, white polka dotted one from long ago.. He yawned, small tears forming on his eyes in the process. He rubbed his eyes with his arm, feeling the salty water getting his arm slightly wet.
The evee stared off into the grey'ish yellow'ish sky... It wasn't raining.. It wasn't raining for once..
Outis smiled. He was glad it wasn't raining
Outis began to feel sleepy.. He didn't know why, but he has been feeling a lot more tired than usual these days.. Maybe he's becoming weaker? The evee shook his head.. "That can't be it.. Can it?". He began to feel a bit worried.
The sun was setting already.. Still no Rei.. Outis woke up. It seems like he had a dreamless sleep.. He stretched and yawned. He wanted to sleep more, but he was concerned for Rei.
"He has to come back eventually.." Outis thought. He looked at the sky again, It having swirls of yellow and orange mixing with the greyish blue.
The evee calmed himself down, him breathing in and out. He has decided to wait longer, and take another nap.. He closed his eyes, concentrating on his breathing, feeling the rise, and fall of his back. He somehow fell asleep again..
He woke up.. It was dark. The sky was clear, filled with twinkling stars, big and small in the big back sky.. The sky was filled with shades of blue, and purple as well, showing a breathtaking sight. Rei was still gone..
Outis rubbed his eyes and stared blankly at the dark nothingness of the sky. "I should probably look for Rei.." Outis mumbled under his breath. He didn't really act like it, but he cared about Rei like a real brother.. He knows, that when Rei pronounced them brothers, the vulpix was just pronouncing them good friends.. That day seemed like yesterday..
The evee got off the warm comforting blanket, setting his paws on the cold pavement. He was starting to feel quite hungry, and he pounced on the nearest rattatata in the alley below him. The rattatata lay helplessly in his grip, trying to squirm away. Outis felt sympathy for it. The rat pokemon was just trying to survive.. Out of pity, Outis let go of the noisy rattatata, it scurrying away into the sewer.
It was time to look for Rei now.. No more distractions..
The ginger evee took a few steps out of the alley. It was quite windy, as a swift breeze blew on Outis's scruffy fur. He breathed in, taking in the soothing sound of the wind, whistling in his ear. That moment didn't last long, however..
Out of the blue, a paper smacked Outis in the face..
The evee looked around in anger, wondering who threw the paper at his face, but then realized he was stupid, and the wind did it. The paper that hit him, was slowly drifting away, taking on the current of the wind, but Outis quickly grabbed the paper before it could blow away, and hit another pokemon or human.
The paper was colorful, a flyer of some sorts. Outis observed it carefully, seeing it said something about a large treehouse, and eight eveeloutions were in the flyer as well, a strange looking sylveon in the middle.
Outis tilted his head slightly. He didn't see what the point of this flyer was, but then he looked in to it more, and it said something about a school.. For evees.. "This seems useless.. We're wild animals, we don't need to be sitting in a school all day.." Outis thought to himself, not reading much into the paper, and glaring at the sylveon in the small picture..
"No more getting distracted for real this time.."
(Finally editied before school..)
