Chapter 8
I smirked at the sight of her face. Her brows are crossed and her eyes are painted with confusion and shock. I can't blame her tho.
"Tita, ano po 'to?" she innocently asked to mom with her usual angelic voice.
"Alright. Anything for Elly, tita," Loua replied and flashed a smile before going inside the interrogation room with the detective.
"Priscilla, I don't understand it," it was Loua's mom.
No wonder, she's a frustrated lawyer who can't make it to the bar exam.
"If she's brought here just for the interrogation, then why did the polices ran a fingerprint test to her two days ago? It's not what I think, right?" Loua's mom clarified. Puno ng pag-aalala ang boses n'ya.
Mom's eyes went down. Enough for the woman upfront her to fully understand the situation.
"My god, Priscilla! I can't believe you! My daughter is not a murderer!" Without a second, she bursted and mom was quick to defend the situation.
"It's not what you think, Mardie.
"It's just that..."
"What? God, I'll drag my daughter away from that room now."
"I'm desperate, Mardie.
"Bullshit! It doesn't give you the just for just dragging other's daughter to your mess and make her responsible for it.
"I'm so sorry, Mardie. I'm so sorry for this," panghingi ng tawad ni mommy na s'yang ikina-ikot ng mga mata ko.
"Freedo!
I walked towards their direction and stood in between her and mom.
"What?" She asked with her face painted with tension.
"I saw Elly and Loua fighting a week before my twin went missing," I answered with a stoic face.
"So it was you, huh? Melly, since when did you care about Elly that now you're naming someone to be responsible for her mess?" sarkastiko n'yang wika saka ako binigyan ng matalim na tingin.
"She's entitled, Mardie. Loua's entitled with it," I firmly stated in a disrespectful manner.
"How dare you!" Well, that was a good slap. Enough to get everyone's attention.
"How dare me," I lowly uttered with a chuckle. Conspicuously mocking her.
"Mardie, what's going on?" biglang dating ng asawa n'ya.
"Mardie, please.
"What? Why?
"Just do what I said, Freedo. They're accusing our daughter for murder," she answered that made her husband snap out of shock and confusion.
"Leo? Priscilla? Is that true?" he asked.
"Yes it is," I answered with a menacing smile.
"Ano!"
While I just took a step outside the perimeter as I don't want to engage myself anymore with cat fights.
It's funny how far my parents could go just for Elly.
Mabuti at wala akong dalang tool ngayon.
He stood between mom's side and Loua's side.
I heaved a sigh and walked towards them. A police officer is already holding Mardie now. While other one is holding dad.
"Everyone, settle down," pagtawag n'ya ng pansin.
"Detective th--" Mardie wasn't able to finish her sentence when Detective cut it off with an announcement.
"The forensic result is out," he commenced that gave me thrill.
"And? My daughter's fingerprint didn't match the one that's found on the bottle, right?" naninigurong tanong ni Mardie. Pathetic.
"Ano? It can't be!"
"Loua Fetizan, due to the evidence found, you are charged with the crime and hereby arrested. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.”
Halos mangisay sa gulat at galit ang nanay ni Loua after the police addressed Loua's miranda rights. Bingo.
"What the. No! You can't detain my daughter! Stupid. The fingerprint is already a strong evidence.
"I know it's no longer necessary. But Detective, you can check her purse," I uttered. Referring to Loua's purse.
"Melly? What's going on?" Mom asked like as if she just got out from bed. Well, not just in her, but to everyone in this room who's connected to Loua.
"It's the same perfume bottle that is found on the crime scene," the detective informed after getting the perfume bottle out from Loua's bag.
"Now, isn't that an enough evidence for you?" mapanuya kong wika kay Mardie.
"Her fingerprint matched the fingerprint found on the perfume bottle that is used to stab Olivar on the neck. And now, she uses the same brand of perfume. Anyone would be a fool to say that those aren't enough evidences either just merely coincidence," I added and stared at the furious Mardie. And to ignite her more, I gave her my sweetest mocking smile. So lucky of her!
"My daughter would never do that. Maybe someone is trying to frame her! There's no way she could kill someone.
"You never know someone until they show you who they really is," makahulugan kong wika.
"Bruha ka!" Mardie was burning in fury when she faced me and about to take charge on me. But fortunately, the police officers was quick to hold her.
"We will continue investigating on her, Mr. Jamez. Since we can find an angle on Olivar's case, and your daughter's missing case that links to the other murder case of the college students in Morville University," the detective informed before taking a formal leave. Now they're linking the other cases to Loua. Great. Stupid.
"All I know is that Elly's relationship between Loua is not going great for the last weeks," I answered with certainty as I took a confident sit on the living room's couch.
"Grabe. I can't believe it. Napakabait na bats ni Loua. And now...I just can't believe it. We've been hanging out with a murderer," mom muttered with disbelief. There was even guilt in her eyes and hesitation upon saying the word murderer.
"I told you so," I confidently said.
"Melly, anak. Sorry. Sorry for doubting you. You were right about Loua. Mahirap mang paniwalaan na nagawa n'ya nga 'yon, but still, you're right. Thank you. Thank you for helping in your sister's case," wika ni mommy na tila hinaplos ang puso ko matapos marinig ang salitang anak. It was the first time.
"No worries, Mom. I'll help you in finding her. I may act like I don't care about her, but I actually do," I grabbed the chance to take advantage of it by confessing to them. And yep, I gained their sympathy. Finally. After long years, this is the first time they listen to my opinion and thanked me for it.
"I'm sorry for judging you, Melly," it was dad with an apologetic voice.
I mentally smirked at them. How great it is to hear them saying sorry and regretting from not believing me and for judging me. Nakakatab ng puso.
"Don't worry. Mahahanap din natin ang kakambal ko..."

(A/N) Melly's pretty confusing right? I know. But hang on peps. There's more coming.
