Rohit was sitting anxiously in the waiting area in the air port and was waiting for boarding the flight to Mumbai. He has come for an ad shoot to Jaipur and now his work was completed but he was going to stay there and was going to roam around the city but one phone call from his certain best friend and he has booked the next flight ticket to go to Mumbai.

Flashback

Rohit came to his hotel room after completing the ad shoot. He freshened up and was almost asleep when his phone rang which brought him back from his dreamland. He frowned but took the phone and checked the caller id and it was from his best friend Virat. He mentally said some unharmed curses and then sighed and picked up the call.

Rohit: Bako..

Virat (hesitantly): He.. Hey Ro.. Dis.. disturb kiya kya?

Rohit frowned hearing the hesitancy in his voice and again checked the caller id as well as the number and it was his Virat only. Moreover his voice seemed quite different. He was sounding off.

Rohit: Vi..

Virat: Disturb kiya na. I knew it. Sorry Ro. I'll.. I'll call you later bye

Rohit: Vi stop.. Koi disturb nahi kiya. Now speak.

Virat: Haan??

Rohit: Are disturb nahi kiya bol mere bhai

Virat: Hmm.. Kya bolu?

Rohit: Call kyu kiya?

Virat: Woh.. woh..

Rohit: Ab Woh ke age bhi bol de

Virat (in low voice): I was getting bored.

Rohit (snapping): Are you serious Vi? You were getting bored iss liye tumne call kiya? Can't you do other things?

Virat (in low voice): Sorry..

Rohit: Now cut with this sorry track and tell me the real reason why did you call me Vi?

Virat: Nahi kuchh (cough) nahi.. Bas aise (cough) aise hi call kiya

Rohit: Wait.. Why are you coughing?

Virat: Noth (cough) Nothing Ro. Bye

Virat disconnected the call. Rohit was sure that he was having cough and cold but he talked to him yesterday and it was all fine but then he remembered that they have had a chat over whatsapp and not an audio call from past few days.

Rohit: Pakka barish me bheega hoga pagal

He was about to keep his phone at a side when his phone again rang with the call of their gym trainer. He picked up the call.

Rohit: Hello..

Trainer: Hi Rohit.. Actually maine yeh puchhane ke liye call kiya tha ki tum aur Virat kal aa rahe ho kya gym? Actually I am on leave aur Virat kuchh dino se na gym aya hai na call receive kar raha hai.. He Must be busy somewhere I guess..

Virat: Vi gym nahi aa raha?

Trainer: Nahi.

Rohit felt suspicious as Virat hardly skips gym. He was becoming more sure that Virat is hiding something from him.

Rohit: Aap leave pe jao it's okay.

Trainer: Okay thanks.

They both disconnected the call. Rohit instantly call Virat but his phone went unanswered. He then called KL Rahul whose apartment is exactly above Virat's.

Rahul: Hey B-Ro

Rohit: Rah.. Hi.. Actually I wanted to ask you that did you have a chat or talk with Vi in past few days?

Rahul: B-Ro.. Actually I have come Bangalore just two days after you left for Jaipur. Aur Virat se meri baat nahi hui uske baad se. But..

Rohit: But what?

Rahul: I was talking to Harry today and he told me that he had called Virat but his phone went unanswered and then Virat didn't even call back. It was weird but Virat messaged him that he was busy and all.

Rohit: Strange

Rahul: Even I felt that but may be I am overthinking. I am not sure whether everything is fine or not. I called him but he didn't pick my calls and he texted me that he is busy in some business related work and would not be able to talk much for few days. So may be.. I don't know.. But you talk to him na. He will share with you whatever it is if there is anything

Rohit: Yeah.. Chalo baad me baat karte hai

Rahul: Okay bye

And after the call with Rahul, Rohit first booked the flight ticket, completed his packing and now here he is.. in the waiting area of the airport. He was continuously trying to reach Virat but his phone was now switched off from an hour. Rohit's trance broke as his flight was announced and he boarded it. He reached Mumbai and again he started calling Virat but his phone was still switched off. It was already night by now and by the time, he will reach to Virat's house, it might be late night but who cares.

Rohit quickly took a Taxi and went to Virat's building. He quickly made his entry in the register and went to Virat's house. He rang the doorbell quite a few times but none opened the door. He frowned but his heartbeats were raising with unknown fear. He took some deep breaths and remember that a spare key was with him too. He quickly searched through his own house keys and found Virat's apartment's key. He unlocked the door and was shocked to see the entire house in pitch dark.

Rohit: Vi... Vi.. Look I am here

He called but got no reply. He has asked the guard and he knew Virat was at his home only.

Rohit was going ahead with the help of his phone's torch.

Rohit: Vi.. Vi..

He again called and went towards Virat's room. As soon as he entered the room, a spotlight fell on him and he has to cover his eyes as light was too sharp but he gradually adjusted to it and finally was able to see what is ahead of him properly.

There was a projector in front of him and Virat's video started playing.

Rohit said it while being emotional. Virat has always been an expressive one and Rohit isn't according to everyone but only both of them knew that the reality is completely different when it comes to their relationship of friendship. It was always Rohit who used to openly speak and Virat just used to agree silently to whatever he says. Virat has always been of less words and more of an actions and gestures sort of a person when it comes to their friendship. He used to make sure that Rohit should be fit even though he was having his favorite Vadapaav. He made sure that Rohit was given all the credits he deserves for the World cup win. He made sure to keep Rohit lead eveywhere. And He made sure he protects Rohit in front of anyone and everyone while he was the captain of the team. He used to keep an eye on Rohit when Ritz used to go to her parents.

And today, his best friend was expressing his emotions in words. It was sort of miracle for Rohit.

His trance broke as left side of the room's lights got turned on. Rohit looked there and found it was having so many pictures of them together on and off the field.. from the beginning of their careers to their last T20I together.. To their picture after World cup win with Indian Flag at the back.. And so on till the date.. It was a complete nostalgia for Rohit.

His attention again got shifted to right side of the room as now the lights of that side are turned on and there was a huge collage of their pictures with balloons kept at the either sides of the collage with different words associated with them like.. #rohirat , #RoKo , #FriendsForever , Hitman, King Kohli, 7 Run outs, Most 200+ runs partnerships, Most Individual 200s, Most ODI hundreds

Now the lights in the center turned on and there he was.. His best friend was standing there with guitar.. Rohit knew what will be coming and he quickly just went live on Instagram as he just wanted to tell the world that what his best friend has done for him.. He wanted to show the world that the person about whom they think of being an arrogant one, he was the softie in real life.

Rohit: Hey Guys.. I know you guys will be wondering why I am live and all so just have a look at all this..

He show the decorations, the photos, the collage and now Virat was standing there with guitar.

Rohit: I have got this special surprise as a Friendship Day gift from my best friend who is none other than Virat Kohlu for you all and Vi for me.. My Vi.. As you all can see the projector screen over there, I got a very cute, sweet, emotional Video Message wish from Vi at first and then these pictures and this collage. And now Vi is gonna sing a song for me hain na Vi

Hearing this Virat chuckled and nodded in yes. Rohit put the phone at a side so that Virat's performance can be recorded more efficiently and he stood at a side but both RohiRat were visible to all.

Rohit: To all those who always have issues with my bestie.. This is your arrogant.. Angry.. Cricketer who is actually the softest person I have ever known in my life.

Rohit looked at Virat.

Rohit: Happy Friendship Day Vi. And thank you for being My Vi and My Constant too.

They both again hugged each other and Rohit ended his live and he posted it on his Instagram handle. But then Rohit smacked Virat.

Rohit: Aisa kon karta hai Vi? Pata hai main kitna dar gaya tha? Aur uss gym trainer and Rah ko to main chhodunga nahi. Gym trainer ka to samaj me aata hai.. but how can Rah be part of your plan?

Virat: Ro.. He is my kiddo.. So kuchh khurafati to banti hai na..

Rohit chuckled but again got serious.

Rohit: And that coughing..?

Virat: I am a decent actor you know.

Rohit whacked him hard but then hugged him tightly again thanking him for the surprise on the friendship day. Never ever he could have even thought in his dream that Virat would express so much but he did. Indeed it was the best Friendship Day of his life and he knew His Vi and him are Friends for Forever.
