A War of Words and Insults...
Time Scale: 8 Days After Clash of Champions 2019 - Location: WWE Monday Night Raw.
Destroyer's Personal Observation:
Sooo....that Live Event was certainly rather interesting...and things were becoming more and more interesting with WWE as well. There was change coming, not just to Monday Night Raw but to Smackdown Live and WWE in general.
There was talk that Smackdown was moving to Fox, and was being moved to Friday Nights once again for the first time in a few years, if I recall correctly...but what was more was that all these changes were taking place mere days and weeks before Hell In A Cell itself.
What annoyed me personally was that Brock Lesnar was apparently returning to Smackdown to challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship, and more specifically when Smackdown makes its Fox channel debut...and if I know what that mad idiot Vince wants, it's that he'll have Brock win the championship from Kofi...
That pissed me off, and numerous others who heard the rumours backstage on both Raw and Smackdown too, and for many reasons. Not least because Brock would no doubt go running off with the title for god knows how long at some point, leaving whatever brand he's on without the WWE title...
Honestly, if I'm never near him then I'd be a happy person. At least if he was with Paul, it'd be bearable to an extent, but otherwise I'd just avoid him. They could offer me all the money in the world to fight him, and I'd still say no.
I get he's had a good matches here and there since he came back with a few people like Styles, Bryan and Balor, just to name a few...but he's screwed more people out of good matches or victories just to fill his pockets.
I can only hope that we are never on the same brand as it each other.
Anyway, where the f*** was I...? Oh yeah! Now I remember. I was at Raw waiting in the catering area for the show to begin. I was honestly itching to fight out in the ring, but apparently I didn't have a match tonight, just a contract signing segment with Rollins.
Me and Rollins had run over some of the stuff that we planned to say...well I say "we planned", it's more on what Paul planned for Seth, just in case, and I ran over a few topics I might run through in terms of the segment with Rollins. Needless to say, he knows that anything I say that might sound distasteful, or a shot against him in particular, is nothing personal.
I was antsy, and in need of a match, hardcore or not, I don't care, and it sounded like the only chance I'd be getting any this week is if I went to another live event, to NXT, or to Smackdown.
Don't get me wrong, I'll do the job regardless, but it's annoying that I can't have a little fun by doing a match instead of doing something that I may or may not go overboard on, go majorly off-script on, even if I don't follow the script in the grand scheme of things anyway outside of certain spots in matches that I rather like, or that I might mess up on since promo's aren't something I necessarily am good at or enjoy doing.
The one good thing with the fact that I might potentially going off-script is that Triple H and Paul have told me that they will back me up if need be if Vince doesn't agree with it. Plus Triple H does want to go back into a more rebellious style of wrestling, and bring wrestling into a new era of sorts...I only hope that I don't mess up the plans before they have a chance to bloom...
Well, as long as nothing goes wrong with it at least...
I soon felt a couple of hands tapping my shoulders, causing me to turn my head to an angle to see who it could be. 3 guess who it was.
""Hey Michael!"" It was both Cassie and Jessica, and both of them had smiles on their faces. I hadn't seen them since the Live Event, sadly, because they had gone to hang out with some of their other friends over the remainder of the week/weekend.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it, and I wouldn't take away their choices or chances to hang out with others for anything...I'm not my father...Still, I did miss their company.
Please tell me that Seth and Becky aren't actually right about me having...feelings...for my two best friends...
"Hey girls." I replied, before being hugged by both of them. "You two had fun?" I asked them, to which they nodded at that with smiles. "Yeah, it was great hanging out with the others." Jess said, to which Peyton followed up by saying "Though we did miss ya."
I simply smirked a bit in a teasing way. "Well, you could have called if you did miss me. I do have a fall and all." I teased, to which they slapped my shoulder despite finding it funny too.
"Anyway...what is it you both wanted to talk to me about tonight?" I asked as I had some water, bringing up what they said at the Live Event: about them talking to me tonight about...something...whatever that could be, I have no idea, but they have kept me intrigued with that. They seemed to remember it as soon as I had asked the question.
"Oh yeah. Would ya want to get a place with us?" Billie outright said, causing me to double-back at that and almost do a spit-take at that...and instead start a brief coughing fit instead when they said that. Pretty sure it also caught the attention of some of the others in the area too.
"I...*cough*...I'm sorry...*cough, cough*!? Did I...*cough*...Did I just hear you...hear you both right?" I said as I tried to catch my breath and tried to return to return to normal breathing, something they both tried to help me with out of concern. They both nodded their heads though in response, albeit more hesitantly now and with concern.
""Yeah..."" they both said, confirming it on the chance the nods didn't...which honestly is impossible. I soon managed to catch my breath long enough to look to them and ask with all seriousness yet confusion: "You're serious? Why?"
They looked at each other briefly, almost as if not sure how to answer, so I decided...
"You know what...don't worry about it. I'm fine with moving in with you two." What I said surprised both Jessica and Cassie, as they both had shocked looks on their faces before Billie asked "You're serious!?" I simply nodded with a small smirk.
"Sure, why not. I'll need to get my own place eventually for when I'm not on the road, and at least I'll have my best friends with me." I replied, technically not telling a lie. I did have a place of my own originally in Japan when I was working in the indies, a small one-person apartment, but I had to sell it when I left New Japan to go to WWE, since the chances of me getting back to Japan on tour would be slim on the travel schedule WWE has.
Both Jessica and Cassie surprised me with another hug out of nowhere after that, which surprised me. "This is gonna be great! It'll be like old times!" Cassie said, to which I rolled my eyes a bit at that, but chuckled in amusement.
"Come on you two..." I finally said, causing them to break the hug. "We need to get ready for the show...don't want the old fossil, Vince, to think we're intentionally trying to waste his time." And with that we headed off to our respective lockers room and such to get ready for the show...oh, if only we knew what was going to go down...me especially...
End of pov.
Raw soon eventually got underway, and Heyman made sure that, whenever the IIconic's got a chance to be on the show, that the seeds for Destroyer and The IIconic's teaming up in the near future were being sown. Currently, Michael Cole and Rollins were in the ring: a table with a contract and a couple of microphones there, as the two awaited for "The King of Destruction" to make his presence known.
They did not have to wait long...
https://youtu.be/hqzKjPn7YSY
As soon as the gongs began to play: the lights went down, shrouding the arena in the now familiar temporary darkness, only for demonic blood red lights and a demonic red mist to cover the pathway as the music began to play in full...and then Destroyer appeared!
He glared a hole into Rollins from the ramp as he entered the arena after a little bit, before making his way into the ring slowly and with intent. When he did enter the ring, he continued to glare a hole into Rollins, not once acknowledging anything else, even after his music stopped playing, and the lights returned to normal.
Eventually the two separated from one-another enough to be near the chairs at the table, though neither of them sat down, and only Rollins grabbed one of the microphones at first. Destroyer didn't even remove the Universal title from around his waist, or the glasses and jacket either. He just maintained his glare.
"Gentlemen...if you could both go over the contracts to make sure everything is in order, then sign them, then we can get this done quickly." Michael Cole said, breaking the silence and attempting to be the peacemaker between the two hated rivals...even though I could sense the fear radiating off of him for what could occur...
Rollins took the contract and looked through it in glances slowly, often breaking eye-contact with what he was reading to make sure that Destroyer had not moved, or in case he was making any indication of striking. His fears were, for now at least, fortunately unfounded; as Destroyer remained standing were he was, glaring through his glasses at Rollins, uncomfortably quiet.
It was eerie how quiet he was being, and how he was giving nothing away in his body language, even with the glare, regardless if it was hidden behind his glasses or not. Rollins put down his microphone and took the pen, signing the contract...before boldly slapping the contract onto Destroyer's chest as if challenging him.
Destroyer didn't react though, and what was more eerie was that he didn't drop his gaze for a moment, simply taking the contract from Rollins's hand without even looking, before lazily throwing it back onto the table.
He then grabbed the microphone nearest him and held it similar to how The Undertaker would often hold the microphone when he did his promos, taking the WWE logo thing attached around the microphone off as he did and throwing it out of the ring, all without once letting his glare falter.
When he did finally speak, his voice became darker and colder...more harsher and bone-chilling than how his voice normally sounds outside of the ring. And the best part about it was there was no voice filters or changes with the microphone as a cause for it.
"If you have something to say to me Rollins...then you'd best do it now..."
Rollins couldn't help but gulp a bit at the change in the voice, but he still tried to remain calm and collected...even though he was the farthest thing from it right now...
"You know what...yeah, I actually do have a few things I want to say to you, "Destroyer"!" he began, gaining mixed reactions from the crowd.
For the next few minutes, Seth went on about how Destroyer thinks he's unbeatable, about how Rollins will never willingly give up on regaining the Universal Championship and surviving Destroyer's onslaught, and so forth, putting all of his emotions into the promo.
Destroyer mentally felt sorry for Rollins, since he was restricted in what he could and couldn't say, but he was also somewhat impressed that he managed to sound passionate with what he was saying, regardless.
Which is probably why Destroyer wasn't expecting Rollins to say this, mainly because he was never told about this happening...
"Are you even paying attention to me, Destroyer? Or would you rather be back at that Live Event last week with your Billie and Peyton swooning over you like love-sick puppies just because you three grew up together!?"
That struck a nerve with Destroyer, and this one was more visible in his features, if only momentarily. The crowd was surprised by this as well. When the camera's weren't on Rollins, and more on the crowd reaction, Seth mouthed the words "sorry" to Destroyer, something that thankfully nobody other than "The King of Destruction" himself caught.
Destroyer understood what he said, but knew he would have to get his answers on this away from the eyes and ears of those watching. Destroyer slowly walked towards Rollins, maintaining his glare onto Rollins, however this time he unhooked the Universal Championship from his around his waist and threw it onto the table with little care.
What happened next, verbally, wasn't pretty...in fact, it was down right scary, his darker voice included!
"Listen here, Rollins, and listen well! If you want to even make it to Hell In A Cell, then I suggest that you watch your tongue before I rip it out and make what happened at Clash of Champions look like a bad dream compared to what WILL happen IF YOU BRING UP THOSE I AM CLOSE TO AGAIN!!!"
Everyone was taken aback by the ferocity and force that he wielded in his voice as he continue to quite literally send the fear of god or worse into Rollins! And it was far from done.
"You come out here, week after week after week, cutting the same old scripted promo about how you conquered "The Beast" Brock Lesnar, all because some stupid old has-been of a fossil named Vince McMahon says so, and all because that dumb ass is so behind with the times that he thinks a guy pissing his pants, or a certain 'Lunatic Fringe', who we're all supposed to just pretend that he doesn't exist by the way, getting shots in front of the public is "Good shit!"...
"Well guess what? NOBODY is buying it anymore! I want to hear what Seth Rollins has to say, I want to see the guy who got me, ME, to fucking bleed at Clash of Champions, and almost withstood the fucking beating I gave him! I want the REAL Seth Rollins, not the cooperate 'yes-man' that does what he's told! Or failing that, I want to see Tyler Black face me, instead of 'bitch boy' Seth Rollins!"
The crowd erupted loudly in shock and surprise at Destroyer not just laying into Rollins, but also laying for taking shots at Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon of all people, and even so much as mentioning Jon Moxley's by his previous title and Seth Rollins 'Tyler Black' name.
Seth, although he couldn't admit it or show it right now, and even a load of the wrestlers watching in the back like Hunter, Peyton and Billie were completely taken aback by every word that he said, and some even found the words amusing and gratifying that somebody was standing up to Vince and Brock...granted, at Rollins's expense, but even Rollins didn't mind it at this point.
Hunter simply made a hand gesture to the tech people to get them to keep Destroyer's mic on, even if he knew this would cause a lot of problems. This is what he had wanted for a more "out there" evolution of the product...and besides, even he thought it was interesting to see Destroyer vent.
And, boy, did he as he turned to the camera, pointing to the stage area as he spoke with venom in his voice.
"And as for VINCE MCMAHON!!! When will you get it through your thick, aging old skull that your brand of "good shit", as you call it, and what you think is 'best for business' isn't working anymore!? YOU...are killing the WWE for gods sake! And you are horribly miss-using wrestlers with more talent than you value, all for the sake of your stupid shortsightedness!
"Wrestlers like Ricochet, Robert Roode, EC3, "The Kabuki Warriors"...HELL, even my friends "The IIconics", Peyton Royce and Billie Kay! It's like Vince has made it his mission in life to destroy their careers or make them irrelevant! And he's been doing that with those that fans like as well too for YEARS!!! Well I say NO MORE!!!"
He then turned to Rollins as he stared face-to-face with him. "ROLLINS! I don't care if I have to go through you, or send you to hell and back inside Hell in a Cell to prove my point...but know this: I may RESPECT you...but I sure as hell will have no problems what-so-ever in DESTROYING YOU...to retain that belt, and start putting this company where it should have been years ago, instead of rotting away like WCW in 2000!"
As he finished saying that: he head-butted Rollins and lifted him up, before hitting the "Death-5" on Rollins through the table, all whilst the crowd, and in fact everyone else, was still reacting and, in the crowds case, popping, over what "The King of Destruction" said!
He then grabbed the contract off the floor and signed it, before throwing it onto the floor and grabbing his Universal title and heading to the back through the crowd without another word as his music played.
Needless to say...Destroyer was not a happy man right now....
Author's Side-Note: This was a struggle of a chapter to write, I'll be honest. Mainly because writing promos aren't my strongest skill when doing these to be honest, and also because I had writers block on a number of occasions.
Granted, I was also working on my other stories like "Falling into Bliss" whilst doing this, so there was that, and I also wanted to update the covers of said story and this one as well too despite my computer art skills not being great honestly (though I do hope you like the new cover).
Anyway, apart from that rant/explanation, I hope you liked this chapter, and if you have any questions let me know (within reason). I hope you all have an amazing day!
