Well It has been 2 moons since my apprenticeship ceremony. I'm put on a solo hunting mission today. I hope to catch enough prey before I have to go back by sun high for my littermate' apprentice ceremony. I put my prey on the pile and PInestar acknowledges my return to camp and the prey I caught. I settle down among the other apprentices when I see my parents coming out with my litter mates among their paws.

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather below the high rock for a clan meeting. We gather here today for probably my favorite thing to do. Moonflower and Stormtail's remaining three kits have spent 6 moons with us and it is time for them to become apprentices. Rainkit from this day forward until you earn your warrior name you will be known as Rainpaw. Adderfang you are ready for your next apprentice so I give you Rainpaw. Snowkit from this day forward until you earn your warrior name you will be known as Snowpaw. Sparrowpelt you are ready for another apprentice and so I give you Snowpaw. Bluekit from this day forward until you earn your warrior name you will be known as Bluepaw. Stonepelt you are ready for your next apprentice so I give you Bluepaw. One last thing before everybody goes off. Whitepaw and Dapplepaw come forward".

So Dapplepaw and Whitepaw are going to become warriors today.

I Pinestar leader of Thunderclan call upon my warrior ancestors to look upon these two apprentices they have trained hard in the way of your warrior code and I commend you to make them a warrior in return. Whitepaw, Dapplepaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life?"

"I do".

"I do".

"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior names. Dapplepaw from this day forward you will be known as Dappletail. Starclan honors your courage and welcomes you as a new warrior of Thunderclan. Whitepaw from this day forward you will be known as White-eye. Starclan honors your determination and welcomes you as a warrior of Thunderclan. Both of you will sit a silent vigil tonight until dawn while the rest of us sleep".

That afternoon I spent doing basic battle training with Pinestar. When we got back home Pinestar told me that grab something from the pile and I will be going out on the dawn patrol with Stormtail tomorrow. "What a long day today Rainpaw. How was your first day as an apprentice? I remember mine as if it was yesterday. It was not very exciting because I collected moss for the elders".

"I got to see the borders today along with Snowpaw but it looks like Bluepaw also had to collect moss for the elders. What did you do today?"

"Well this morning before your ceremony I got sent on a solo hunting mission where I caught a couple of mice, a vole and a squirrel. Then after your ceremony I had a battle training session with Pinestar. Now he told me that I am on dawn patrol tomorrow with Stormtail".

"Seems like you have a rough time since you have so many duties as an older apprentice. Man tomorrow I think I am doing hunting practice. But it also seems like a solo hunting mission would be fun. Man am I tired I had to walk all the way around our territory. Hey look Bluepaw is back".

"Hey guys how was your days?"

"I had a huge hunting mission that I did solo then I had battle training with Pinestar. Now I have to go on the dawn patrol tomorrow with Stormtail".

"My day was boring all I saw was the borders and four-trees. At least I wasn't stuck collecting moss for the elders like you were Bluepaw".

"Well that was okay too but why did I have to collect moss instead of seeing the territory like you guys got to?"

"Somebody's got to collect the moss for the elders. I had to also collect moss on my first day of being an apprentice. Goodnight guys I've got an early morning ahead of me".

The Next morning I got up so I could go on the dawn patrol with Stormtail and Adderfang. When I got back Pinestar let me grab something to eat before I went out on a hunting patrol with Sunfall and Poppydawn while Speckletail watches her kits. I return to camp and see that Bluepaw went out with the rest of the apprentices. Pinestar tells me to look for ticks on the elders and make sure they have enough prey to eat and rest up since I am going to the gathering tonight. When I got back from taking care of the elders I saw that Bluepaw, Snowpaw, and Rainpaw came back from their hunting trip. I wander over to were they are gathered around the fresh kill pile and see that somebody caught a fresh squirrel. "Who caught that giant squirrel?"

"I did it was my first catch ever".

"Congratulations Bluepaw and I think it's right for you to go to the gathering tonight along with your sister".

That night as I went to my second gathering I traveled with Bluepaw at my side to were we meet at four-trees. I remember when Pinestar took me to the Moonstone recently and how I was amazed at the sight of it. When we got to the clearing it was only Shadowclan there. I separated from the group at Pinestar's signal and started to go find some other apprentices that I could hang out with from the Shadowclan group. "Hey Raggedpaw how is your training going?"

"It's going fine thank you for asking Icepaw".

"My litter-mates just became apprentices and it is Bluepaw's first gathering. Man I just had to go on dawn patrol this morning and then a hunting patrol then I had to take care of the elders".

"Hey we all have hard work days. Hey look Riverclan is here maybe they will have some good stories to tell".

"And look who's also just arrived Windclan. Maybe the gathering will start soon".

"All cats gather below the high rock the meeting is about to begin".

"We have three new apprentices Bluepaw was the only one to go but we also have Rainpaw and Snowpaw. We have two new warriors with us today White-eye and Dappletail. That is all that Thunderclan has to report".

"Windclan does not have anything to report".and

"ShadowClan does not have anything to report".

"Riverclan also has nothing of importance to report".

We return to camp and the next day I get up kinda late and see that everybody is gathered around Goosefeather and the fresh kill pile. I wander over and see that they seemed to be waiting for me. "This is bad news see how the vole's fur is lying one side swept low like that it means that Windclan wants to destroy us".

"How can you believe that almost nonsense from Goosefeather".

"Let's attack first so they don't have a chance to strike".

"Good idea. I will take Moonflower, Stormtail, Adderfang, Leopardpaw, Stonepelt, Dappletail, White-eye, Smallear, Sparrowpelt, Robinwing, and Icepaw. Swiftbreeze, Rainpaw, Snowpaw, and Bluepaw will come but will not take part in battle. They will instead help Featherwhisker with injuries and run messages".

The rest of that day I spent in battle training with Pinestar because it would be my first battle. When I got back to camp later in day He tells me that I should have something to eat then get some sleep since I will be up early early".

The next morning I get up early when we need to and leave the den. I walk to were all of the people in the battle are gathered. I see my den mates all chattering around while they are either saying goodbye to each other or just being excited. We head to Windclan camp and we fight them. I fight with the deputy and he takes my eye out and I faint.

Later while I was asleep. "Goosefeather will Icepaw survive?"

"I don't know Pinestar. She's hurt pretty badly. As we say a lot in medicine cat words she's in the paws of Starclan now. You do know that there is a ceremony for apprentices that are dying?"

"Yes I do know of that ceremony but it isn't used much. I will do it so Icepaw could go to Starclan if she dies as an apprentice as a warrior or if she survives she will be a warrior. I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on the apprentice. She has learned the warrior code and given up her life in the service of her Clan. Let StarClan receive her as warrior. She will be known as Icestorm."

A few days later I finally wake up. "Why do can't I see out of the right side of my face?"

"Icestorm you lost your eye in the battle with WindClan. Don't worry you will be able to still be a warrior you just have to learn how to fight with only one eye. You lost your mother in the fight with WindClan. Why don't you go outside of the den and get a piece of prey". 

I leave the den and find the clan cheering when I walked out of the den. "What is going on" I ask. 

Pinestar says "You were close to being dead. You have survived".

The days pass and Goosefeather removes the cobwebs from the right side of my face. "You can continue to be a warrior. The fact you have lost your eye won't stop you from being one".
