Twelve Years Ago
It was a rainy night when a three year old girl woke up to the sound of shouting. The little girl moved closer to her window to look outside, there she could see her parents fighting.
"Margo, where are you going!?" Shouted the girl's father, Carter.
"I can't do this anymore! She is not normal Carter!" Even from the distance you could notice the tears streaming down the woman's face as she faced her husband with a broken heart.
"She is just a child, Margo. Our child!"
"No, she is dangerous. She is a monster and if you can't see that, then I'm afraid this is goodbye" at his wife's answer the pain in the man's face was evident.
"Margo, please don't go. Ember needs you. I need you" the man begged his wife, he needed her to stay but the woman had made her decision and she wasn't about to change her mind.
"I'm sorry." With that the woman turned around from her house and her family leaving the love of her life crying at the doorstep and her little girl watching from her room.
In her room the girl was crying, she was afraid, she reached out pressing her little hand to the window as if she were trying to reach the fading figure of her mother
"Mommy." She whispered while a few sobs escaped her mouth.
The little girl didn't understand much of what was happening as the surface began to turn into ice. Everything was overwhelming and confusing for her young mind.
Why is daddy crying?
Where they talking about me?
Is mommy leaving because of me?
Carter Snow entered his daughter's room and found the girl curled up in her bed crying, it broke his heart to see her like this and he knew that she had heard his conversation with Margo. He made his way towards his little girl and wrapped an arm around her small, fragile figure.
"Daddy, were did mommy go?" Asked the girl with a trembling voice as she lifted her face from her arms showing her red puffy eyes.
"She had to do somethings, don't worry about it princess" he kept rubbing his daughter's shoulder in hopes of calming her down.
"Is she coming back soon?" She just wanted her mommy, she didn't like to see her parents fight, it scared her as well as the times her powers get out of control.
"Yes, of course. Just go to sleep, Ember." Said Carter as he pressed a small kiss to the girls head.
Carter knew this was a lie he wishes it were true but the decision in Margo's face was clear, she knew what she was leaving behind and she didn't care. No one would have been able to stop her.
That night Margo Lewis made the worst and last decision of her life. And it was in that rainy night when the little Ember Snow decided to prove her mother wrong, she wasn't a monster.
Thanks to this night she would grow to become the heroine people will know as Ice Sorceress.
