When Shadow saw Shard, Jewel and Ruby he smiled.

"Daddy you were great!" Ruby yelled running up to him.

"Thank you Ruby did you enjoy the game?" Shadow asked Ruby.

"Of course I did Daddy! You guys won!" Ruby yelled.

"Haha I'm glad you enjoyed the game Ruby what did you think Shard and Jewel?" Shadow asked.

"I enjoyed it you guys were really playing hard." Shard said.

"I agree with Shard you guys played good and won." Jewel told him.

"Thanks. Still can't believe we've gotten our first win since we got the new arena." Shadow said chuckling a little.

"Yeah what's the name of the arena?" Shard asked.

"It's just called Raven stadium. No one could think of a name for it. Actually if we don't make the playoffs were going to actually no longer have a hockey team so this seasons really important." Shadow said.

"Well if you guys keep playing like this you should make the playoffs." Shard said.

"Yup and if we do make the playoffs the arena is going to finally have a name." Shadow stated happily.

"Well we should probably be headed home now it's getting late. Plus it'll be the weekend." Shard said.

This made Shadow happy that he could spend the weekend with not only his daughter but his best friend.

"Yup let's go." Shadow said smiling.

With that they went home.

I'm gonna be sore when I wake up tomorrow. Shadow thought to himself.

Sure enough when Shadow woke up he was sore all over because he not only delivered crushing hits but he was on the receiving end of crushing hits as well. Which he knew that the soreness would go away in a little bit.

Shadow looked over at Shard's bed smiling when he saw her sleeping peacefully. He started to daydream about them being together he wanted to tell her about his feeling for her but his fear of being rejected was stopping him.

Meanwhile Shard was waking up and saw Shadow looking up concentrating on something.

"Morning Shadow what are you doing?" Shard asked.

Shadow snapped out of his thoughts and said.

"Nothing just thinking."

"What are you thinking about?" Shard asked curious.

"Mostly about what my future holds I want to play in the Champions League because I'll get a lot of exposure but the Canadian Hockey League I can play at a younger age so I'm stumped." Shadow replied which he wasn't lying he just left out the thoughts of Shard cheering him on by his side.

"Well choose what's best for you Shadow." Shard said.

"Thanks Shard for being a friend." Shadow said looking at Shard.

Hopefully we can be more than friends some day. Shadow thought to himself.

"Well we should get something to eat. Come on let's go."

When they got down to the kitchen Shadow and Shard saw Ruby helping Jewel with breakfast as Ruby would grab whatever Jewel needed.

"Morning sleepyheads you sleep well?" Jewel asked.

"Yeah but I'm a bit sore after yesterday." Shadow replied stretching.

"Well when you go that fast and fall into the ice after getting hit what do you expect at least you don't have any broken bones." Jewel pointed out.

"Yeah well you have a point but after a few games J shouldn't be as sore."

"Well breakfast is almost ready. Ruby's been helping me all morning with stuff around the house you two were sleeping so peacefully we didn't want to disturb you. But Ocean is still sleeping like a rock and he hasn't woken up yet even though me and Ruby have tried to tell in his ear. All we got as a response was him rolling over."

This made Shadow and Shard laugh.

"Well at least he's alive." Shadow said chuckling.

"I guess that's fair." Jewel said.

Well let's eat. He'll probably wake up to the smell of food." Shard said also laughing a little.

Once they sat down Shadow couldn't stop looking at Shard as she ate like there was no tomorrow.

"Aren't you afraid your gonna choke Shard?" Asked Shadow.

"Well I wanna eat so I can have fun all day with you." Shard replied.

And with that she finished eating while Shadow wasn't even halfway done with his while Jewel and Ruby barely started eating.

"I'll be watching TV while you guys eat."

When Shard went to to the lounge area Jewel looked at Shadow with a smirk.

"I see how you look at my daughter Shadow." Jewel said which made Shadow's draw drop.

"W-what do you mean?" Shadow asked worried.

"I know you like her Shadow and I think you two'd be a good couple." Jewel said.

"Can we not talk about this I don't want to hear about who my dad likes." Ruby said with a joke face of disgust which made Jewel and Shadow laugh.

"Alright fine Ruby." Shadow said.

"But Shadow I think you should ask out Shard." Jewel said.

"I don't know we really haven't known each other that long so I'm not sure if I should or not." Shadow said with a frustrated expression.

"Well you'll know when the times right." Jewel replied.

And after that they saw Ocean coming downstairs looking like he was dead.

"Well good news I think I have an idea for a painting so yay and also what smells so good?"

"Good morning Ocean and that smell is the food that me and Ruby cooked." Jewel told him.

"Oh so Ruby is a chef huh." Ocean teased as Ruby looked embarrassed making everyone laugh.

Alright so Chapter 9 is done and apparently I've been exposed to Covid yet again and it's possible for me to get Covid again so yeah Fuck 2021. Anyway hope your all doing well because there won't be any updates this weekend since it's my dad's visitation so yeah see ya.
