Nothing interesting happened at school (and I'm too lazy to say what happened at tryouts lets just say he made the team cause I'm lazy.)

Shadow was making his way to Shard's house happy that he made the hockey team.

Hopefully we can have a good season. The teams been so bad we haven't won in years. But I'm gonna change that just because I'm a defenseman doesn't mean I can't help with offense.

And with that thought Shadow made his way to Shard's house.

When he got there he saw Shard in the living room staring at him intently.

"So how'd it go?" Asked Shard still staring at him.

"I made the team. I have practice all next week then a game the next Friday."

"Is the game a home or away?" Shard asked.

"It's a home game. But don't expect a big turnout. The hockey team hasn't won a game in years."

"Well what position do you play Shadow?"

"I usually play as a right defenseman but occasionally I play as a left defenseman."

"That's cool. Also if your looking for Ruby she's in the garden helping out my mom."

"Alright so I take it Ruby is enjoying spending time with your mom."

"Yeah my mom's teaching her what berry is which because as she put it. 'it'll be helpful in cooking if you know what berry is which.' But I guess that it is a good thing to know in the long run so I can't really mock her."

"Well at least now she has a sort of good grandmother figure."

"Yeah. It's too bad she doesn't have a mother figure but at least she has a good father figure." Shard said.

"Yeah I guess." Shadow said looking at Shard.

Shadow then looked at Shard.

She would probably be a good mother figure for Ruby but she probably doesn't like me. Shadow thought to himself.

Shadow had been thinking about the dream he had last night and he realized that he had a crush on Shard and he actually didn't mind that.

"Well why don't we look for something to watch." Shadow suggested.

"Sure."

After about an hour of watching TV the door leading to the backyard opened and a energetic Eevee can inside by a tired looking Jewel.

"DADDY!" Shouted Ruby jumping onto the couch and hugging Shadow.

"Hey Ruby how was your day."

"It was great! I got to learn about all different kinds of berries!" Shouted Ruby smiling.

Shadow then felt his phone vibrating.

"Well that's just great now isn't it." Shadow mumbled after reading the message from his mom.

The message read. 'Sorry honey but we can't take care of you anymore so I'm gonna have to ask you to move out of the house.' and Shadow's reply was. 'of course.'

"Who just messaged you Shadow?" Asked Shard.

"My mom. Apparently they're kicking me out because the can't afford to take care of me which isn't exactly a surprise."

"So does that mean we don't have a home anymore Dad?" Asked Ruby looking worried.

"Unless we can find a new house then yes." Shadow said sadly.

"May I make a suggestion?" Asked Jewel.

"Sure." Replied Shadow.

"Why don't you love here with us. It would be good for Ruby." Said Jewel.

"Well I don't want to be a burden but I guess that we can live here. But where will I sleep and where will Ruby sleep."

"Ruby can sleep in my room and you can stay in Shard's room." Jewel replied.

"Alright I guess that could work." Shadow said.
