As the team went back onto the ice shadow stopped Grass who was going towards the faceoff circle.

"Hey Grass hold up." Shadow said to him.

"Yeah, whatcha need Shadow."

"Grass, your probably our best team-leader so if you play good we'll play good. We rely on you to keep us focused Grass remember what I've said in practice. If the leader of the team struggles the whole team struggles. Now what does that mean to you?"

"So what you're saying is that if I don't play my best everyone else will struggle." Grass said.

"Exactly if the leader isn't doing well then everyone else won't be as willing to play hard."

"I hear what your saying Shadow. I'll try harder from now on." Grass said.

"That's what I like to hear Grass now let's go and win this game." Shadow said.

With that they went to center ice to play the final period.

(Now we switch to commentary.)

"Well the game looks as good as lost for the Ravens. Wilson what do you think of the Ravens tonight."

"You know Dusk I think they've struggles too much and Rainbow should be benched with the way he's playing tonight."

"Well Wilson I gotta agree. And the puck has been dropped and Grass wins the faceoff as the puck goes to Shadow and he passes it to Rain who passes it to Grass who's in the slot and Grass shoots it and what a save for Rusty the lycanroc and he has been playing good."

"It's probably the intimidating look on his face that he's been giving everyone."

"You know Wilson sometimes you say stuff that makes sense and stuff that sounds extremely stupid. That was in the middle." Dusk said looking at Wilson.

Wilson just gave him an unamused look.

"Sometimes I just wanna smack you Dusk."

"Wouldn't be the first time. Anyway back to the game as the Artists take the puck with Coral taking the shot and Spark makes the save. Half the period has elapsed and the Ravens look like the games out of reach."

"Well they at least don't want to be shutout because then the previous game would look like a complete fluke." Wilson said disappointed.

"Well Shadow has the puck and he looks like he's scanning the ice. Grass calls for the puck right next to the net Shadow passes is and Grass shoots it and it goes in what vision from Shadow to see Grass calling for it."

"You know Shadow looks like he can go somewhere with his hockey career if he keeps working hard." Wilson said to Dusk.

"Yup and the puck is dropped with a minute remaining as Shadow passes it to Grass, Grass takes the shot and it gets saved by Rusty who has a look of anxiety now. That's not something you want to see if your the Artists coach."

"Well Dusk if you look over at the Ravens coach his face is expressionless."

"Well to be fair he barely shows emotion when he's watching the game. Only emotions I've seen from him is frustration, and happiness the perfect combination. Anyway Shadow has the puck time for one more shot he wrists it on net. Rusty tries to get into position to save it he gets his stick on it and it hosts the post and misses. What a way to end the game and the look on Shadow face says a thousand words."

(Now back to Shadows POV for a moment then Shard's)

"Damn it!" Shadow yelled in frustration.

Shadow looked around at his teammates faces and they all had the same look of shock that the goalie saved the puck.

When Shadow looked at the opposing teams goalie he saw the goalie about to faint as Rusty sat down. Shadow skated over to Rusty who was breathing huge sighs of relief.

"Good save that took some skill."

"Hey thanks man I tell ya I though your shot was going in."

"Well you had great vision to see the puck and react so quickly."

"Well I had luck on my side since I saw it in my peripheral vision. Hey meet me outside after your done grabbing your stuff I want to talk to ya quick."

"Alright. See ya then."

When Shadow went into the locker room he saw all of his teammates with crestfallen looks. When they heard Shadow walk in they all looked up.

Their coach got his whiteboard and looked at them all.

"Well there's not much for me to say. Just their goalie was quick with his reactions and he had great vision. Shadow 9 times out of 10 that shot would go in no I saw you skate over to him what were you guys talking about?"

"We were just talking about his save and he said he barely saw it and he thought it was going to go in."

"Well that's what happens with a lot of saves every save takes some luck with being able to react in time. Now we've still got 28 games left and next week we have 4 games we only get a day off on Wednesday Monday and Tuesday we have back to backs, Thursday and Friday same thing so rest up cause now the season will be in full swing. Now Family on 3. 1. 2. 3."

"FAMILY!" They all shouted.

(Now Shard's reaction to the save.)

Shard saw that Shadow had the puck.

"Come on Shadow you've got this." Shard quietly said.

Shard saw Shadow shoot the puck and saw the goalie dive for the puck. Shard was silent as she saw the puck his the goalies stick and hit the post and miss.

Shard just looked at the goal in shock and saw the goaltender close to fainting.

"Well there's always the next game." Shard's mom said.

"Yup but it made for quite the finish." Wave replied watching Shadow skate over to the goalie.

(Back to Shadow.)

Shadow walked out of the arena and saw Shard and her family waiting for him. When he looked elsewhere he saw Rusty talking to his family.

"Hey guys I'll be right back." Shadow said before hugging Shard.

"Alright but be quick." Shard told him returning the hug.

With that Shadow walked over to Rusty who was still talking with his family.

"Hey Rusty!" Shadow yelled over to him.

Rusty waved his paw for Shadow to come towards him.

"Hey Shadow I just wanted to ask if I could get your number so we can chat when we're not playing against each other." Rusty said to Shadow.

"Sure here I'll tell you it." So Shadow told Rusty his phone number.

"Anyway I got a long ride ahead of my so see ya Shadow."

"See ya Rusty. Again that was a great save."

"Thanks man." Rusty said smiling.

Rusty was quite the intimidator on the ice but off the ice he was a nice person.

When Shadow got back to Shard, Wave, Ruby and Jewel they all got into Jewel's car.

When they got back home Shard and Shadow went to Shards room to lay down.

"You played great Shadow remember that Shadow."

This made Shadow smile.

"Yeah but even though we didn't win it was only one game." Shadow said.

"Yeah but your the best on the team in my eyes." Shard said.

This made Shadow blush a little and he kissed Shard on the cheek then he got an idea and licked Shard behind the ear making Shard giggle.

"Stop it Shadow that tickles." Shard said giggling.

"What do you not like it?" Shadow asked smirking.

"No I love it I just don't want to pass out from laughing when you do that."

Shadow just rolled his eyes to that response.

"Well it's late so let's go to sleep." Shadow said cuddling with Shard.

But before he went to sleep and looked at his phone and saw Grass asked him if he wanted to hang out tomorrow and Shadow replied with sure.

That's the end of Chapter 12 and the answer to the quiz I gave y'all was German ships. Now then from now on if I do quiz you all chapters will be released the day I finish writing them. Also I enjoyed writing this chapter a lot so yeah. Updates will be slower for the next week because I have to write a story in German as an end of the year project so yeah slower updates.
