(Y/n)'s POV

Reiji had given Ayato some medical treatment, only because I begged him to. I had refused to let them give me anything because I didn't want them worrying about me but Saee still resisted.

I was now in my room, resting. For some reason, I got a cold. I think it was because I was with someone that had fire powers. I had snuck in the whole basket of strawberries that Yuma gave me.

I was eating them while reading books...and occasionally dipping them in Nutella since I didn't have a chocolate fondue. When Subaru came in, I hid them under my blanket.

"I know you have something, what is it?" he asked.
"Nothing." He lifted my blanket.
"You can have some if you want."
"Oh okay," he replied and sat down next to me then started eating them.
"Hey, don't eat all of them!"
"You're the one that's the pig here!" he exclaimed.
"Am not!"

We started arguing until we realised all of them were gone and noticed that Ayato had finished them all.

"Ayato!" we both shouted at the same time and started chasing him. I didn't worry about my cold. Ayato went into his room. Subaru kicked the door open but he wasn't there.
"Damnit!" (Subaru)
"Saee, have you seen Ayato?"
"No, why?" she asked.
"He stole my food and birthday present."
"Oh, that's um unlucky for you."
"Can you find him for me? You can go and kick his butt for me."

I waved and left. I went to the Mukami mansion and towards the garden. Yuma was there, tending to the tomatoes.

"Hi." He just kept working.
"Can I have um...a few more strawberries?"
"Why?"
"Because the strawberries that you gave me got eaten by Ayato." He sighed.
"Let me drink your blood then." Ugh, seriously?! I hoped he didn't mind.
"Uh okay?" He sank his fangs into my neck and drank a long gulp.
"You gave me a brain freeze."
"Sorry about that." He handed me a smaller basket of strawberries.
"Thanks." I went back to the Sakamaki mansion. Ayato had a small bruise on his head.
"Don't ask." I giggled.
"What?"
"I told Saee to do that."
"You what?!- who did that?"
"Um...mosquito bite?"
"Don't lie to me. I can smell Yuma's scent."
"Well sorry, I did it for the strawberries."
"Just for that?!"
"*nervous laugh* Yeah..."
"Just...don't do it again."
"You were the one that stole the strawberries in the first place."
"Yours truly would never start that."
"Yeah right," I replied sarcastically before going to Yui's room to share them.

~After eating~

We were now going to school and the classes were back to normal. I had art first.

"You will be completing the questions on your artwork, which are on the board."
"May I please go to the bathroom?"

She nodded. I left the classroom. The reason that I wanted to go was because I just wanted to skip class. I went to the music room. Shu was there, as usual. I sat down and started to play (Arms by Christina Perri).

I heard clapping and turned around to see my art teacher.

"That was amazing but you were supposed to be doing your art."
"I-I'm sorry."
"I'll let you off this time but next time, I won't be so easy on you." I smiled.
"Thank you."

It was break. I packed up my stuff and was suddenly locked in a room. There were two girls standing in front of me. They looked incredibly jealous.

"You're Ayato's girlfriend and you live with him?! We'll make sure you get what you deserve."
"Please don't-"
"Begging won't work and none of them will come."
"W-why?"
"They're too busy trying to get through a bunch of annoying fangirls."
"But aren't you two annoying fangirls as well?..." I muttered to myself.
"What was that?!"
"Nothing."

They pushed me to the floor. I tried to stand up but they kicked me back down. One of them kicked my stomach, it hurt so much.

"Please...stop..."
"Why should we?!" They just hit me harder. They pulled my hair. Yui saw us and came into the room.
"Stop hurting her!" she shouted but they pushed her to the ground.
"What can a weak girl like you do?" I eventually managed to get in front of her.
"Yui...go!"
"But-"
"Don't worry about me, just go!"

She hesitantly left. After a few more minutes - it felt like hours - of hitting me, they left. I had bruises and cuts all over my body. I slowly stood up and walked to the door. Ayato was there and he was panting heavily.

"Are you okay?!" he asked.
"I'm fine." I fake smiled to hide the pain.
"I can see right through that smile." I blacked out.

~At the mansion~

I woke up and found myself in my room.

"We treated your wounds so don't worry," Yui told me.
"Thanks, are you hurt anywhere?!"
"I'm fine."
"That's good." Ayato came in.
"I-I'm sorry."
"It's fine, it's not your fault-"
"Yes, it is. If I just got there faster, this wouldn't have happened." I held his hand.
"I'm fine."
