Chapter 10
For now he'd try to solve something to win. But... you never know with wars things could be turned a different way he'd been in hundreds of them. So if he'd have to kill himself to win one he would. If he could find another way then great.
Of course he'd been saving up his power for a while now. So when the was came he'd be able to create an bomb of sorts.
The most powerful bomb to ever explode and probably the most destructive.
Unfortunately as he thought of the different ways in his mind he realized he'd die either way.
The bomb would explode him as well. Tear his body apart. It'd be painful.
The ice wouldn't be much better. The more he used it the colder everything seemed to be. He did some research on it, which was extremely difficult. They had almost no information on it. But he did find that the more you use the ice the worst the cold got. The ice slowly spread through your veins, freezing you entirely and slowly.
If there was a fire version, it'd reverse the effects.
But there wasn't one that was known.
Either one of those ways he'd die. And he doubted there was a different way.
Leo Valdez POV:
Leo sighed as he swung from his legs. He was upside down on a tree, only hanging by his legs.
He wasn't doing well.
He came back to camp to surprise all his friends.
What a surprise?
Hey guys turns out I'm not actually dead! Haha tricked you!
He had rescued Calypso from her island and they were doing great.
Until he came back to camp.
Flashback
Leo grinned as Festus landed on the ground. Campers surrounded him and he could feel Caly's smile against his back.
"Lets go sunshine. We have some of my old friends to meet."
They heard a snort and turned to see Piper McLean.
"By meet you mean she gets to watch as we beat the crap out of you right?"
Leo grinned, "I knew you guys missed me! Where's Jason?"
Pipers grin faltered. "I'm sorry Leo. He's-"
She didn't have to finish, he didn't want her to. He knew what had happened, he could figure it out. He didn't want to hear it though. "Oh."
Then his other best friend Percy Jackson came to mind. That guy had always been there for him. They were also always joking around. They became close during the war against Gaia and all the quests before.
He forced a grin on his face, "where's Percy?"
He looked around and saw even more solemn faces. Had Percy died too? That couldn't be. It was Percy Jackson he couldn't be dead.
"He left..." Annabeth spoke.
"What? Why would he-" Leo was cut off by Piper.
"If you count everyone betraying him because of your lies Annabeth, him leaving, then yes. He left."
"You guys did what!?" Leo yelled.
His best friend Jason was dead and now his second best friend Percy had been betrayed and left.
He was angry. And his fire reacted with his emotion.
Him and Calypso had gotten off of Festus, thankfully he didn't want to melt Festus or his girlfriend.
Calypso took a step back from his flaring body. He didn't blame her.
The grass turned to ash where he stood.
Camper started to back up, Caly was included. He was thankful for that. He didn't want her hurt. But every other camper he'd be fine with burning.
But this fire was different. More powerful. Hotter.
His eyes glowed a firey orange, yellow, and red. Like a live flame took place in his eyes.
Everything around him started to burn. Campers started to run in response to it.
Someone had to drag Calypso away. It was Piper.
'Thank you Piper.' He thought bitterly. Sure he was happy she pulled Calypso to safety but... he was still mad at everyone in camp at the moment.
Incase they couldn't tell from his burning everything fire.
The Athena cabin, which had been nearest to him lit up in flames and quickly turned to ash.
It didn't last as long as it should've.
It should've taken him hours to turn the entire cabin to ash.
But it took about 5 seconds.
For the entire cabin to become ash.
Tyson ran through the flames, he was fireproof he should be fine.
But he was being burned as he yelled and Leo to stop
Tyson was fireproof.
What was happening.
Everything went dark as Leo collapsed and the fire distinguished.
Flashback over
Everyone had feared him after that. They kept their distance.
Every time Calypso tried to go near him, someone dragged her away.
She thrashed and screamed at them every time.
But they never stopped.
Leo had managed to control it. Somewhat at least.
He had built a device, fire proof, to control his flames. It captured his flames and put them in the device.
He was powerless he couldn't use his abilities unless it was disconnected or destroyed.
He missed his flames.
Very much.
But it was better that way.
He stayed in Bunker 9.
He stayed away from Calypso.
It was better that way.
She should stay safe.
He device could fail, he didn't want that.
