Chapter 49, Umm, What?
Elsa's POV
I found myself humming a familiar song, but I can't place it. I only remember this one part, and I hum it over and over again. I don't remember the words, just the tune.
The chilly fall air was nice on my visage. It warned me up ironically. But, by the look of the clouds, it was going to rain. I noticed this and flew back to the castle, landing on my balcony as it started to drizzle. Let's just say that the drizzle, turned into a downpour.
I had changed into comfortable clothes, well, a comfortable dress, and put my hair in the braided bun. My bangs swept to the side of my face, just above my eyes.
I had gone into the study and grabbed a few papers, bringing them with me so that I could work while drinking coffee. I was sorting through them, not paying attention, when I bumped into someone, knocking me and my papers down. The persons arm grazed mine and sent a chill through my skin.
I fell to the floor as I watched all my nicely sorted papers fly down the stair railing. I sighed and looked up to who I bumped into, but saw that no one was there. I'm pretty sure you can't bump into air.
"Queen Elsa? Oh my!" I heard a maid say, looking to me, then to the papers. She quickly ran over to me, helping me up, (even though I told her I was fine.)
"I'll pick those up, please, go back to whatever you were doing, I'm fine." I said, moving swiftly to pick up the papers. I sent the maid a reassuring smile, but it soon faded when I saw I was alone. How strange...
"Hi Elsa!" I heard a kind voice behind me. I put a smile on my face and turned around to see Olaf. "I want to show you something!" He said, grabbing my arm. However, once he did, he instantly melted to a puddle on the floor.
"Ahhhhh!" I screamed. What was going on. I hugged my hands to my chest, afraid to touch anything else. What was going on! This didn't happen earlier! What if-
"Elsa?" I heard Jack. I looked from my hands to him, shaking. He walked closer, reaching out his hand.
"No no no! Don't touch me! Something.... Weird is going on. Olaf touched me and instantly became water!" I said, looking to the puddle beside me. I quickly used my powers to revise the little guy, only to have him back up as well. Jacks eyes widened and stepped back a little, but only a little.
"Olaf, go get Anna and Kristoff," Jack told him. He nodded and ran.
"Earlier, someone bumped into me, but when I looked, they were gone! A maid helped my up from where I fell, and when I turned to thank her, she was gone! I don't understand what's happening!" I said to him, shaking more.
"Hey, hey, hey, calm down alright? It's going to be okay. Calm down." He said, trying to help.
"How can everything be okay? Everything I touch disappears! That's not normal!" I said loudly, touching a nearby lamp to show. You guessed, it vanished. "Don't lie and say everything's okay," I said again, looking to my hands.
"Alright, everything's not okay, be we will make it be okay?" He said, smirking.
"Better," I said. I closed my eyes and tried to calm down. The air around me got cooler, a lot cooler.
"Elsa?" I heard Anna. I opened my eyes and looked at her bewildered face. "What's wrong?" She asked. She stepped forward, or tried to, before Jack pulled her back.
I touched the table on the other side of me, and watched as it disappeared. Her eyes grew wide and she gasped.
"Elsa? How are you doing that?" She asked.
"Anna I don't know! It just happened! Two people have disappeared because of it!" I yelled. She was taken aback. "I'm sorry for yelling, it's just..... I'm just stressed," I said, running my hands through my hair.
"It's okay. The question is, how do we help you...." She said, dragging the u.
"You can't." I heard a voice say.
"Who is?" Anna started, but I cut her off.
"Hello Manny. I'd give you a hung but I'm afraid you'd disappear to," I stated, chuckling a bit. He smiled and went over to Jack, who had kept quite this whole time. "Jack, my boy! How's being a guardian?" He asked, putting his arm around Jacks shoulder.
"It's been good, but might I say, your extremely calm for this situation," Jack stated.
"I'm calm for the same reason you are, to keep her calm," he said, pointing at me but not letting his eyes off Jack.
"Can you help me?" I said, trying not to sound rude.
"Elsa, my dear, I cannot. Only you can. Elsa, you see, you've developed a clone of yourself, full of the fear and darkness you once had in you. But now, it's created itself, and it's trying to put that back into you. Only you can defeat your own demons, Elsa." He said, walking over to me.
"Umm, what?" Anna asked confused. I ignored her response.
"H-how do I do that? How did it get there?" I asked, trying to sound strong. Voice don't fail me now.
"You keep pushing it away. That's how you get rid of it. You can touch stuff and make it disappear? Close your eyes and imagine that power leaving your body." He said, stepping closer. I did as I was told, and closed my eyes. I focused on pushing that power away, making it be gone.
Suddenly, someone grabbed my hands. I gasped and opened my eyes, trying to pull my hands away. I met Jacks eyes, his dazzling blue eyes, and they stood there. A smile broke out on his face.
"Your not.... Gone. Your not gone!" I said. I hugged him tightly. We pulled apart and I hugged Manny.
"Thank you," I said.
"Your welcome, but Elsa, these tricks are not over. Everyday will be a new hardship. Good luck." He said, instantly vanishing.
"I'll be ready for them." I stated happily.
