Chapter 46, Birthday Ball Part 2
Jacks POV
I felt really bad for treating that man rudely, I just didn't want Elsa to get hurt somehow.
I held the door open for her and she walked in, me right behind her. A lot of people greeted us as we made our way to the front. We finally got there and stood next to Anna and Kristoff. They were talking about chocolate; typical Anna.
"So," she said, trying to find something to talk about. She laughed, causing me to laugh. Anna and Kristoff stopped talking and faced us, watching us laugh for no reason. Then, Anna started laughing at us, Kristoff as well. Soon we were just all laughing for no reason.
"Okay. Okay. Guys, we have a party to attend to," Elsa said, stifling her laughter. The laughing came to a hold as we looked off into the crowd. Merida and Rapunzel were mingling around the dance floor while Hiccup was talking with Meridas parents.
"Oh my gosh! Anna! Hiccup is talking to Meridas parents! He's probably asking if he can court her!" I said, pointing to him. She gasped and we watched as he finished talking to her parents, with a SMILE might I add, and walked over to Merida. Merida turned and Hiccup said a few short words before they hugged. Elsa and Anna squealed while we just smiled and shook our heads.
"So, having second thought on your wedding for next week?" Kristoff said, coming to a halt beside me. I stared at home blankly.
"Absolutely not!" I said. He just chuckled
"Good, because seeing that Elsa is my sister-in-law, I'd have to hurt you if you were having second thoughts." Kristoff said.
"That's cool... Please don't hurt me," I said very calmly.
"I won't." He said. We looked through the crowd. Hiccup and Merida were talking with each other, Rapunzel was braiding little girls hair wile Flynn watched, and Elsa and Anna were eating chocolate.
"So, I hear your going to be a father," I said, smirking to him. He went a little pale then blushed.
"Uh, yeah," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"That's going to be the best 3 years of your life, followed by the worst. Trust me, I've seen kinda grow up," I told him. He became more pale. Anna and Elsa had walked back over to us, and Anna went by Kristoff, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Are you alright Kris? You look really pale," Anna said, examining his face.
"I'm fine," he said with a smile. She kissed him on the cheek.
"Good," she said.
Elsa's POV
I took Jacks hand and pulled him on to the dance floor. He took me hand and pulled me close to him as we started dancing. I got lost in his eyes when he started talking.
"How's your birthday been so far?" He asked, looking down to me with a grin.
"Well, it's been pretty good." I said.
"Well, I could use a pick me up," he said, putting a finger to his cheek. He wants a kiss. Of course Jack, such a gentleman... I stood on my tippy toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Better?" I asked with an amused smirk.
"Better. So, snowflake, are we just going to dance all night?" He asked, smiling at me. "My short snowflake," he added with a smirk.
"I'm not short!" I said stomping my foot. He chuckled.
"Yeah, okay," he said sarcastically. "Short snowflake," he mumbled, thinking I couldn't hear him. I stepped on his foot and watched him laugh at me. "Okay, no offense, but that was kind of weak, pleasedonthurtme," he said the last part really fast. "Not the face, anything but the face!" He said, covering his face. I just laughed and kept dancing.
"Could I cut in?" I heard a voice ask from beside me. I turned to see Ryan. We stopped dancing and Jack let go.
"Sure, I'll be by Kristoff," he said, kissing me cheek before walking off. I smiled at Ryan as we started dancing.
"So, I assume your fiancé isn't to find of me," he said with a small smile.
"Afraid not, but he'll come around, he's just being protective," I said.
"He should be, your a very beautiful woman," he said to me. I blushed.
"Why thank you," I said, trying to get the heat to leave my face.
"You and my wife would go together well, but unfortunately, she has fallen ill, and is in bed. She says she wished she could meet you and is sad she wasn't able to. She wanted to come, but I told her to stay in bed, to get better. She finally gave in and stayed. She's quite hardheaded," He said, laughing at the thought. I was surprised when he said he had a wife, and that she couldn't make it.
"That's unfortunate, I would've really loved to meet her. She sounds like a lovely woman, and I hope she gets well soon," I said to him.
"I'll tell her that you thought of her. Now, I think your fiancé has sent me enough bad looks already. Till we meet again," he said, kissing my hand and flashing a smile before walking off into the crowd. I made my way over to Kristoff and Jack. Kristoff must've sensed something was going on and politely walked away over to Anna.
"What did he say?" Jack asked.
"He just wanted to talk," I said back, looking into the crowd.
"What about?" Jack persisted.
"About his sick wife." I answered. He stayed quiet. "You don't have to be protective," I said, turning to him and taking his hands. He looked at me with his icy blue eyes. The eyes that melted my walls. He gave me his signature smirk. I cupped his cheeks and kissed his lips. Not a peck, but not a long kiss. "Your my fiancé. Don't forget that. I will always love you Jack. No matter what," I said. I wrapped my arms around his back and he wrapped his around my waist. We swayed to the music that seemed to fade in with all the noise. I rested my head on his shoulder.
Time seemed to fly. When I looked up, most people had started to leave, and the other we're getting ready to. I thanked everyone for coming and soon, it was just Kristoff, Anna, Jack, and I left. Anna was eating the left over chocolate. Kristoff was talking with her. Jack was sitting with me on the floor. My legs went strain in front of me and I looked at my black boots. I put my head on jacks shoulder. The maids came in and started cleaning.
"Anna, Kristoff, you guys can go to bed. You to Jack, I'll be in a minuet," I said. Anna and Kristoff nodded before saying there goodbyes and going out of the ball room. Jack still remains however. "Are not going?" I asked him.
"Nope, gonna stay here and help you clean," he said, unraveling my plan.
"How did you know," I said with a smile.
"Cause I know you Elsa." He said. I sighed and started to help the maids. They insisted I not help them, but I did anyway.
"Thank you all so much, go on to bed now, all of you," I said with a smile. They all nodded and went out of the ballroom in a line. I was tired. I untied my hair so it hung loose on my shoulders.
"I like your hair down," Jack said, pulling my into a warm hug.
"Yeah, well you don't have to deal with the knots it creates," I said with a short laugh. I took his hand in mine and started walking to the doors. "I'm tired," I said with a yawn. "Let's go to bed," I said. He agreed and soon, we were on our way.
Hey guys, I'm so so so so so so so so so so so so SOOOOO sorry about the wait. I know it's terrible. I also know that I said this last time. Forgive me please. My life has been upside down since school started. Please, bear with me here.
