Chapter 37, Bad News

Elsa's POV

I havent see this crown since the coronation. Olaf found it, and returned it to me after i unfroze Arendale. I took it out of its purple velvet box and looked at it. It had blue crystals in it. I feel as though I dont deserve it. That its to pretty for me. Its not quite mine yet. It should be my mothers. She should be here, telling me that it will be mine when its my turn. Seems like my turn came to early. When i was to be crowned Queen, i felt like I wasnt ready for it, that it was to much responsibility. To much paperwork and to many requirements. You cant do this, you cant do that. You must sit like this, and eat properly. Things im still teaching Anna. Being a Queen is complicated.

"Elsa?" Jack said. He was right behind me, scaring the snowflakes out of me. I clutched my heart. "You scared me," I said, looking in the mirror and placing the crown onto my head. "Why are you wearing that?" He asked, leaning on his staff. I watched him through the mirror. "Anna wanted me to wear it." I told him. Anna wanted me to wear it today so she could see me with it since she really didnt get to see me with it on my coronation day. "Oh, cool. It suits you," He said, smirking. "It doesnt feel right, but Anna wanted it," I said, stepping away from the mirror. "Well, you look beautiful," He said, pulling me into a hug. "Thanks Jack," I said. "Lets go eat!" Jack said. "Race Ya," He said, running down the stairs. I froze his legs to the floor and walked by. "Thats cheating!" He said, trying to squirm out of my ice. "I play by my own rules," I said, walking down stairs. Once i was in the kitchen, i unfroze his legs and he ran down the stairs. "Elsa! Your wearing the crown! Your so beautiful!" Anna said, walking over to me. She pulled her hands to my face. "You look just like mom," She said, coking back tears. "I assume you got the letter to," I said, taking her hand in mine and walking over to the table. "Yeah, but they said they were coming back," Anna said, looking to me. "And i believe them," She said. "Yeah," I said. "Ladies! Whats up?" Jack asked, running into the room, making me and Anna laugh. "Are you excited?" Anna asked me. I was confused. "Excited?" I asked, turning to her. "For your birthday, its tomorrow, are you excited?" She asked. Oh yea, birthday. "Of course," I said. I saw her look at Jack, and out of the corner of my eye, Jack winked to her. "What are you two doing?" I said, eyeing them both. "Nothing," They both said, to quickly. "Really?" I said. "Really," They both said, to quickly, again. "Okay..." I said, still eyeing them. "Uhm so, Elsa, doing anything today?" Anna asked, changing the subject. "Not really, paperwork," I lied. I was headed to the workshop, to find out where my parents went, but I know Anna. And I know, she would stop me. Jack doesn't know either, and I don't plan on telling him. "Oh ok, I'm gonna hang with Kristoff and Sven," Anna said. "Okay," I said. "What are you going to do?" I asked Jack, turning to him. "I have to spread fun and winter today," he said, stepping to the window. "Be back later, love you snowflake," and with that, he left. "I'm going to be in the study," I said, walking up to the study. Thank god i has a balcony. I stepped onto the balcony when someone approached from behind. I turned to see Anna. "I know what your doing. I don't approve, but I packed you a lunch because I know there is no stopping you." She said, handing me a small bag. "Go find our parents!" I ordered. I dove off the railing and into the sky. "Norths workshop please," I said as the wind pick up and carried me to the workshop. Once we arrived a thanked the wind and walked inside. Some of the yetis waved and I waved back. I was kindof angry, because north never mentioned my parents leaving. I know he knows and thinking about it made me madder. My blood was boiling. I was practically fuming at the mouth when I saw him. "Uhm Elsa..." He said, backing up slowly. "didnt know you were coming. " He said nervously. "Hello north, you know why I'm here, where have my parents gone?" I asked, trying to stay calm. "I have no idea," he said. "Your a terrible lier," I said back. "Really, I don't know. They just took off and told me not to follow, so I didn't!" He said. "Did they say where?" I asked, calming down. "No, I-I'm sorry," he said. "Okay..... I believe you, but if you do hear ANYTHING, contact me." I said. "I-I will," he said. I walked over
To a huge window And flew out. Back to Arendale. Well that was a waist of time, he didn't know anything. I arrived back at Arendale and ate the lunch Anna had prepared for me. I looked out the window while eating at the table and noticed that the sky grew terribly dark. I had a very bad feeling that something bad was going to happen. Suddenly there was a scream from downstairs. I ran down to see a maid who had shrieked. "What is it?" I asked, still
Puffing from the run down a staircase. "R-r-r-r-" she studdered. "What is it! Spit it out!" I said. "RAT!" She yelled, running around. Rats?!! In the castle!? Well, at least it's that and not something deadly. "Stay calm, everything's alright," I said, trying to calm the maid. she started to breath normally so that's a start. "Anna!" I yelled. I heard her feet patter again the floor till she found me. "If, say, rats were in the castle, who would I talk to?" I asked. The same thing happened when I was in isolation, maids told me Anna took care of it. "Hershey is on the job. HERSHEY!" Anna yelled. The little brown cat jumped from the stairs where it rested, and went in from of us. "Rats, find. Treat." Anna said. Three words made that cat take off. "Everything is being handled," she said, skipping away. I was in awe. "Well, you heard Princess Anna," I said to the maid. I walked up stairs and into my room. Something ran past my feet and I screamed so loud that my throat hurt after. I jumped onto my bed and layers back on the wall where my bed was pressed, and breathed heavily. "What's wrong?!?" Jack asked, running into the room. "Elsa?" He said, coming over to me. "What happened?" He asked, getting more worried. "Something ran across my feet on the floor, i-I'm alright," I said, looking him in the eyes. He cupped my cheeks and looked at me with those blue orbs of his. "You had me worried! I thought you were hurt!" He said, pulling me into a hug. "Nope, just startled that's all," I said, hugging back. "Come on," he said, taking my hand. We walked hand in hand down the hall and into Anna's room where Anna and Kristoff seemed to be waiting for us. "You okay? You screamed so loud that Rapunzel could hear you." Anna said. A giant flash of lightning came through the window. It was bright, brighter than most. Anna got up and shut the window that had been opened by the wind. "Sure is bad out there," she said, sitting down next to Kristoff on the floor. "Yea, gives me a bad feeling," I said, sitting with Jack. "Nah, I'm here Snowflake, nothing's gonna happen," Jack said, pulling me into his arms. "You guys are so cute together," Anna whispered. "I heard that," I said. The guys looked at me like I was crazy, but Anna just blushed. We talked for a bit, but I fell asleep on Jack. He is like a big fluffy March mellow.

"Elsa! Please! Help us!" Mother and Father pleaded. I couldn't reach them. I couldn't move. Like I was paralyzed. "Elsa?" Someone asked. I looked to my right to see Anna, in the same position. "I can't move!" I yelled to her. "Me Neither!" She yelled back. Our parents were being dragged away, and we couldn't do anything to stop it. "Elsa!" I heard someone say. But that voice didn't have a body. "Elsa!" They call again, and I was pulled into light.

"Elsa!" Jack said, poking my face. I sat up and looked at him. "Bad dream?" He asked, leaning up on his elbow. "Don't know if it was a dream, or reality. Really hope it was a dream. I need to see Anna, be back in a second." I said, getting out of the bed and walking to Anna's room. I was about to knock when Anna opened the door. We instantly knew it was for the same reason and hugged. "I couldn't move!" She exclaimed. "Me either!" I said back. "Let's try to get some rest Elsa." She said. "Yea, goodnight Anna. We'll talk in the morning." I told her. She went into her room and closed her door. I went back into my room. "Everything okay?" Jack asked when I walked back in. "Um, yea." I said, hesitantly. "Alright." He said, not pressing me further. I got back in bed and closed my eyes in attempt to sleep. "I can't sleep," I said, giving up. He started humming. I knew the song. It's the song I sang to him when he asked. He hummed it and I became calm. I soon felt my eye lids grow heavy, and I feel into a light slumber.

I woke up and was alone. Jack was probably spreading fun. He hasn't exactly been doing his guardian-ing. I need to do that too. But, I have paper work today. Ugh. I got up, changed into a blue knee length dress, and went into the study. I sat in a chair, and looked through the window. Rain, of course. I picked up the first envelope. Envelop after envelope. It felt never ending. I picked up the next envelope in the pile, and opened it. Snow and ice floated out. It went into the air and formed a bunny, made of frost. Frost. Of course it was him. The bunny hopped around the room, leaving tiny flakes of snow in its trail. It crashed into the wall and made the room start to snow. I stared at it, felling a lot less bored, knowing that I had a wonderful fiancé waiting at the end. "Thanks Jack," I mumbled to myself. I put the note aside and picked up another envelope. "To the queen and Princess of Arendale..." I read aloud. Hmm, why would they address it to both of us? "Elsa? I brought you some breakfast..." Anna said, walking in holding a plate of pancakes. "Thanks Anna, but I'm not really hungry." I said. "This letter is addressed to both of us," I said. She walked over and picked it up, reading the front. "Wired," she said. She started to open it and I watched her. She pulled out a card. "I love you, why would you put that on the front of a card?" She asked, looking down to me. "Give me it please," I said as she put it in my hand. I opened the card and read it in my head.

Elsa and Anna,

When you receive this, we would already be gone. Gone, as in, dead. We've known this was coming. It was us or you, and as parents it's our job to protect you. Hans's dark magic still lives, but now it's no more. We sacrificed ourselves for you. Promise me that no matter what, you will keep going on with your life. Elsa, don't become isolated, and Anna, never stop loving chocolate. Live your lives. Don't let this bring you down. Take care of each other. Make our grandchildren remember us. Create a legend, the snow king and Queen. Tell how they saved there daughters by having courage and bravery. We will always love you. Never forget that.

- Mother and Father

I fell to my knees and started wailing. I dropped the letter and laid on the floor, crying. I just got them back and now there gone, again. "Elsa!" Anna said, reading the letter. I was screaming and wailing. I couldn't believe it, they left before we could say goodbye or even a final 'I love you'. I thought to myself, wailing and crying isn't helping you, so I stopped wailing and screaming, but I couldn't stop the crying. "I heard a scream," someone said, dashing through the door. I couldn't see who, my vision was blurred from the water in my eyes. Anna had sat down on the couch and started silently crying to herself. The person ran back out the door and returned with another. "What do we do?" I heard one ask the other. I used all my strength, and stood up, grabbing the chair for support. "Queen Elsa," they person said. I knew it was two servants. No one I am close to calls me 'queen Elsa'. "Please, get Kristoff for Anna, I will be in my room," I said, trying not to break into tears again. The ran off and I walked over to Anna. "I'll be back." I said. "Please, don't shut me out again," she murmured through her tears. "Never," I said, trying not to cry again. I walked out of the door and ran down the hall. I ran up stairs and tripped doing so. I sat on the steps, sobbing into my hands. I grabbed the railing and forced myself up to my room. I had no strength left, everything felt, numb. I couldn't feel a bone in my body. I walked down the hallway, feeling very dizzy. I fell to the floor and closed my eyes. Then, I blacked out.
