Chapter 36, Lullabyes and Birthday Plans
Jacks POV
Anna pulled Elsa away and left me and Kristoff. "What are you going to get for Elsa's birthday?" He asked me. I was taken aback. "When is it?" I asked, nervous for his answer. "Its on Friday. Seeing that today is Wednesday, i suggest you think of something fast." He said. Oh dear. "Uhm.... i have no idea..." I said. "Talk to Anna, she knows everything," Kristoff said. "Thats brilliant! Thanks!" I said, dashing out of the room. "Welcome!" He yelled from the room i ran out of. I ran down the hall to the kitchen. I know a new chocolate order just came into the castles bakery. If she was somewhere, it would be there. Sure enough, there she was, drooling over the chocolate in the glass case. "Anna!" I said, walking over to her. "Yea?" She asked, not breaking eye contact with the chocolate. "What should I get for Elsa's birthday?" I asked her. She instantly turned to face me. She just stared at me for a minuet. She was thinking, I could tell. Her face instantly brightened. "You should get her a snowflake necklace!" Anna yelled/whispered. "Thats genius!" I said. "Thanks, i know in cool." She said, flipping her braid over her shoulder. "You are cool Anna." I said. "Thanks!" I said, walking up to my room. I made sure the door was locked and the window was shut. I moved my hands around and created a icy snowflake on a gold chain. Elsa showed me how to build things from ice. I also created a small box, to put it in. I then hid it in the closet. There was then a knock on the door, scaring the icicles out of me. I quickly closed the closet door and opened the door. "Dinner is ready," Elsa said. "Okay, lets go," I said, taking her hand. "You scared the snow out of me when you knocked on the door," I told her. "Oops, sorry," She laughed. We walked in and Elsa instantly put her hands to her eyes. Anna and Kristoff were.... swapping saliva. "Oh my snowflakes..." Elsa said, still shielding her eyes. I cleared my throat and they both looked at me. Anna went red while Kristoff turned pink. I removed Elsa's hands from her eyes and she looked around. We sat down across from them and sat in awkward silence. "Uhm... So, how is everyone?" Elsa asked, trying to get rid of the awkwardness. "Good," Anna said. "Great," Kristoff said. "Wonderful, you?" I asked. "Good," She said, eating some of her chicken. I took a bite, and then took another. It was really good. Better than fancy restaurants. "What are you going to do for your birthday Els?" Ann asked, taking a sip of her water. "I totally forgot about my birthday. Nothing really, probably paperwork," Elsa said. "How do you forget your own birthday?" Kristoff asked her. "Im planning a wedding and I guess I just, forgot," She said. "Well, im taking you out. I refuse to let you do work on your birthday." I said. "Jack, you really dont-" but Anna cut her off. "Elsa, go. You deserve it." Anna said. "But, the paperwork-" Once again cut off by Elsa. "Me and Kristoff will handle the paperwork, go out! Thats an order." Anna said. "Did you just, Order me?" Elsa asked. "Yeah, i did." Anna said. "How dare you." Elsa said, laughing. After dinner, Elsa went upstairs to get changed. "Elsa!" I called. I had a plan. "Coming Jack," she said, walking down the stairs gracefully. "What is it?" She asked, confused. "Come here," I said, motioning for her to come closer. I was all the way at the other end of the room. She walked over and stood in front of me. "What?" She asked. "I have a secret, come closer," I said. She came really close, and I kissed her noes. I laughed and she stood there, stunned. "Jack! I thought you had something-" but I cut her off with a kiss. She tensed at first, but soon relaxed. We broke apart and she look at me. She crossed her arms. "You interrupted me," she said. "Elsa, will you sing me a song?" I asked softly. She stopped talking and unfolded her arms. She came up to sit on the window with me. No one was awake anymore. It was us and the night.
(Taylor Swift: Last Kiss)
I still remember the look on your face
Lit through the darkness at 1:58
The words that you whispered
For just us to know
You told me you loved me
So why did you go away?
Away
I do recall now the smell of the rain
Fresh on the pavement
I ran off the plane
That July 9th
The beat of your heart
It jumps through your shirt
I can still feel your arms
But now I'll go sit on the floor
Wearing your clothes
All that I know is
I don't know how to be something you miss
I never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips
I do remember the swing of your step
The life of the party, you're showing off again
And I roll my eyes and then
You pull me in
I'm not much for dancing
But for you I did
Because I love your handshake, meeting my father
I love how you walk with your hands in your pockets
How you kissed me when I was in the middle of saying something
There's not a day I don't miss those rude interruptions
And I'll go sit on the floor
Wearing your clothes
All that I know is
I don't know how to be something you miss
Never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips
So I'll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep
And I feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe
And I keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are
Hope it's nice where you are
And I hope the sun shines
And it's a beautiful day
And something reminds you
You wish you had stayed
You can plan for a change in weather and time
But I never planned on you changing your mind
So I'll go sit on the floor
Wearing your clothes
All that I know is
I don't know how to be something you miss
Never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips
Just like our last kiss
Forever the name on my lips
Forever the name on my lips
Just like our last.
I looked at her while she sang. She doesn't think it, but she sounds like an angle. I watched as a tear escaped her eyes. I leaned forward and wiped it away with my thumb. "Jack?" She said. I hummed in response. "I love you. Will you stay with me tonight?" She said to me. "I love you to. Yeah, I'll stay," I said. I followed her up the stairs and into her room. "I'm going to go change," she said, walking into her bathroom. I went over and sat on her bed. I was bored so I used my staff and froze the wall. Then the ice spread to the other walls. Soon, all of the walls were covered in a thin layer of ice. Elsa is going to freak. They window froze as well. "JACKSON OVERLAND FROST YOU UNFREEZE THESE WALLS RIGHT NOW!!!" Elsa said, running around, looking at the walls. "Okay, mother," I said, rolling my eyes and unfreezing the walls. "I'm not your mother, or your maid service," she said. "really," I said sarcastically. "Your just jealous," she stated, braiding her hair in front of her mirror. "Of what?" I asked. "My awesomeness," she replied, finishing her braid. "Yea, okay," I said sarcastically. She lightly punched me and crawled into the other side of her bed. "Goodnight Jack," she said. "Night Els," I said. i pulled her closer to me. She didn't mind and snuggled against me.
I opened my eyes and found that I was alone. I pulled the covers over my head and cringed at the sunlight. "Are you up yet sleeping beauty?" Elsa asked, probably walking out of the bathroom. "To early," I said. The covers were suddenly pulled off of my body. "That was just down right rude," I said, looking at her and sitting up. "Time to start the day," she said. "Why?" I groaned. "Cause I said so, come on!" she said, walking over to her closet. She opened it and went from ball gown to ball gown. She pulled a blue, knee length dress that was tight at the top but puffed a bit at the bottom. She grabbed a pair of black flats and walked over to the mirror on her wall. "How does this look?" She asked, showing me the dress. "It's beautiful Els," I said, still asleep. "Thanks, but your still asleep, so your delusional." She said. "ANNA!" She yelled. I covered my ears. Anna came bouncing in. "Ya?" she said. "Dress?" Elsa said, "perfect," Anna said. "Thanks," Elsa said. That was brief. She walked into the bathroom and changed. She came out wearing the dress and the shoes and she was stunning. She walked over to her mirror and desk and picked up a small, velvet case. I walked over to her and looked at the box. "What's that?" I asked, puzzled. "Something I threw away, but it found its way back to me." She said. The tiny Box had a lock, a very big lock. She set it down and walked over to her closet and pulled out a coat. I have her a confused face. She then pulled a key out of the pocket of the coat and came back over to the box. She took the key and unlocked the box. She opened the box to reveal a crown. A queens crown.
