~Author's Note~

Yes, I know I have an unhealthy obsession with the stars, but they honestly saved my life so...

And plus, they're the most romantic thing in the world :P

Anthony Padilla is 18 years old and it's the last week of his senior year.

As he lays in his bedroom, he thinks about his high school career.

Freshmen year, he hung out with his friends like everyone else. That's when he started hanging out with Ian, the shy kid. With Anthony himself being shy, the two seemed to fit together like peanut butter and jelly.

When Anthony got sick early his sophomore year, only Ian would come over every day and check on him. They would eat pizza, play Halo, watch movies, talk about school, and whatever else teenage boys do. The only thing they avoided was girls. It wasn't intentional, it was just something that neither of them brought up. That was also when Anthony taught himself how to code and started Smosh the website, simply to keep in touch with his other friends.

Junior year, Anthony came back to school and became reacquainted with everyone, but his previous small friendship with Ian had grown into something much more. They were becoming each other's light in the dark. Anthony was the first to get his driver's license and Ian started bumming rides off of him, but in truth, it was just an excuse to be able to hang out with Anthony. They continued everything that they had started in their sophomore year and neither wanted anything to change.

So in their senior year, it didn't. Ian continued bumming rides off of Anthony and they started drifting apart from their other friends. Being the goofy friends that they are, they made a stupid little video to make their friends laugh, and it somehow became popular. Anthony laughs at that. To think that their stupid little video could get so popular...

He looks out the window and notices all the stars. A sudden urge falls over him to go outside and see them. After all, it's not every day that you can see a starry night in Sacramento.

Anthony lays on the grass and looks at the stars. He lays there for awhile and doesn't realize that he falls asleep until he wakes up and sees the clouds.

"Damn it!" He mumbles. Just as he's about to leave, he sees one star. One star shining through the clouds, as if it was sending a message to Anthony.

Anthony reads it as "hope". He thinks back to Ian. He thinks back to all the times that Ian was there for him. When they would rage together, cry together, or just hang out together.

"I love Ian," he blurts, unconsciously. He covers his mouth as soon as he says it.

Then, he thinks it over a bit and laughs. "I love Ian!" He says again. "I LOVE IAN!" He shouts this time.

He looks at the star shining in the sky. "I'll name you Ian," he says.

He smiles to himself.

Anthony: i just named a star after you man :)

Ian: Um... Ok. Cool?

Anthony sighs.

Anthony: come over on Sunday. i miss u :(

Ian: Um ok

Sunday comes quickly and Ian and Anthony stand awkwardly in Anthony's front yard.

"Um, so why am I here?" Ian asks.

Anthony shrugs. "Well, uh, remember in uh, tenth grade when you uh, asked who I'd go gay for and we both agreed on Fabio?"

This earns a chuckle from Ian. "Sure, I guess. Why?"

Anthony pauses a moment, then leans over to kiss Ian. Their lips connect and immediately, both of them feel the sparks and Ian kisses back. When they pull away, Ian stares into Anthony's chocolate brown eyes and smiles. "Well I'd go gay for you," Anthony finally says. Ian chuckles again. Anthony blushes. "I love you, Ian. I really do."

Ian smiles and lightly kisses his forehead. "I think I love you, too."

In the sky, the dim little star that had been shining the night before, quietly whispers in the sky, "Hope, hope, hope," and watches and Ian and Anthony kiss again, the first day to a brand new life together.
