"I Do"
~Author's Note~
Yes, I know my work has been awful lately. Hopefully this is a bit better because I'm passionate about it. Otherwise, I'm terribly sorry that even my trash is trash.
Wedding day.
Holy shit.
It's still so hard to imagine, that I'm getting married. It's honestly all I could ever ask for in life. Not just to be married, but to be getting married to Anthony, of all people.
Anthony, the one whom I had a crush on in high school. The one who welcomed me in sixth grade. The one who I first came out to in eleventh grade. The one I've been in love with since the day he told me that he felt the same way.
Yes, we've had our ups and downs, but never once did either of us ever breaking up with each other. Even as Smosh grew more popular, we managed to stay together.
And now I get to marry him.
I must be the luckiest man on earth.
I check myself in the mirror and straighten my bowtie. I pop a mint in my mouth and smile a smile that I don't think I'll ever lose.
"Ian." My mom comes in and I peek up, noticing her grin. "It's time."
My heart skips a beat or two. I'm about to be a married man.
"Okay, mom. Thanks." I grin at her and she waits for me as I finish straightening my hair to its bowly form.
We walk through the church until we're standing right behind the doors into the sanctuary. The piano begins to play and my heart skips another beat.
"Ready?" My mom asks me. I take a deep breath and nod.
"I've been ready since the day I met him," I say, and I mean it.
Suddenly, the doors open in front of us and I see him standing there. My heart does leaps and flips and I'm paralyzed. He looks so beautiful at the altar. "Go, Ian," my mom whispers in my ear.
I snap out of my daze and begin to walk toward him. All I want to do is stare at him, like I did in high school. All those memories come fluttering back and I grin even wider.
Finally, I'm there in front of him. "Hi," he says to me, showing his beautiful teeth in his grin.
I chuckle and reply, "Hi. You ready?"
He grabs my hand and nods. "Ready as I'll ever be anyway," he wants to kiss me, I can tell, but he can't yet. Soon, though, it'll only take one kiss to make me his husband.
"Your vows, Anthony?" The priest asks. Anthony holds up a finger and goes digging in his pocket for a small slip of paper.
He clears his throat before beginning. "Ian Andrew Hecox, soon to Ian Hecox Padilla..." He wipes away a tear with his hand, though he continues to hang on to mine with his other one. "I have loved you since high school. I knew that the day that you came out to me that you were the one for me. I knew that we were going to make a life together. And... I love you. I will always love you, forever and always." He blushes, and I can feel the heat rushing to my cheeks, too.
I squeeze his hand and the priest turns to me. I smile. "Anthony, you are the stars in my sky, the peanut butter to my jelly... Hell, you're the blood in my body." This receives a light chuckle from the crowd. "You keep me going. Without you, I wouldn't be able to do anything. My love for you runs so deep inside me, I can feel the trembles in my bones. Anthony, I love you, and I'm so proud to be able to call you mine."
I watch as Anthony swipes at another tear. I do the same, but can't help but grin.
Now the rings. He goes first, putting the thick band on my ring finger. I study it immensely, a symbol of our forever love.
As I put the band on his finger, I stare into his smiling, chocolate orbs. God, I'm so lucky. Any man would agree.
"Anthony, do you take Ian to be lovely wedded husband, to love and care for through sick and through wellness, through bad and through good, for as long as you both shall live?"
I can hardly handle the anticipation of his next words.
"I do."
He said them. Anthony wants to be my husband.
"Ian, do you take Anthony to be lovely wedded husband, to love and care for through sick and through wellness, through bad and through good, for as long as you both shall live?"
I grin at Anthony, sensing his same anticipation.
"I do."
"Then in the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you Mr. and Mr. Padilla."
That's it. I'm married. This is officially the happiest day of my life.
I kiss Anthony and I'm never gonna let go.
