Caterpillar and Hatter
The Caterpillar, also known as the wise advisor of Wonderland. Or maybe more simply by his true name, Sogo. He wasn't a very sociable person. Preferring to keep his distance and just watch as things occur. Though if needed, he'd lend a helping hand.
But even then it was rare as there was barely any new visitors in Wonderland and everyone else knew where they wanted to go. Nor did they require much help. They normally found their way or figured things out on their own before he offered his help.
Still, he'd help if it was necessary. But until then he was there, waiting and waiting.
Sometimes he'd look around to see what others were doing out of curiousity. Today he found not something interesting. But someone interesting.
Sitting in a tree quite a distance away, Sogo looked towards where the mad tea party was normally held. The three participants of the tea party weren't all there though. The only one who was, was the Mad Hatter. Where the March Hare and Dormouse was, he didn't know. But the Hatter seemed a little bored.
For a few minutes he simply watched as the Hatter leaned against his hand with a bored expression. Occasionally moving around a teacup which he stopped after a few seconds. Even that seemed to bore him.
Sogo was curious about him, he was acting differently than how he normally was. But that was when the other two were there, acting lively and cheerfully as their tea party went on. Now though, he just seemed lonely. Maybe he could keep him company?
Hopping down from the tree, he slowly approached the table. Though he jumped a little when the Hatter suddenly looked over to him. He must of heard him walking over.
"Hah..who are you?" the Hatter asked, tilting his head.
"...My name is Sogo, I'm the Caterpillar, the wise advisor of Wonderland" Sogo replied.
"Mm..I'm Tamaki, the-"
"Mad Hatter, you're Wonderland's hat seller. Though you used to force everyone to buy hats which displeased the kings. So they exiled you to this place and now you throw endless tea parties with the March Hare and the Dormouse"
Tamaki stared at him in amazement at just how much he knew about him. They just met and yet Sogo knew basically everything about him. Yet he knew nothing about Sogo.
"How-"
"I'm the wisest being in Wonderland. There's nothing I don't know. I even know what you want to know. For example, you want to know more about me"
"Heheh, you're amazing So-chan! No wonder you're so wise" Tamaki smiled brightly.
"Mm? 'So-chan'? What a cute nickname. Ah, before I forget why I revealed myself. I was wondering if you'd like some company"
"You want to join the endless tea party?"
"Ahah..not really join. Perhaps just until your friends show up..I'm not very sociable, but you seemed lonely so..."
The Hatter blinked before grinning, reaching out, grabbing Sogo's arm and pulling him down into a chair. He took that as a signal to join him for some tea. Patiently he watched as Tamaki prepared some tea, handing him various sweets to also eat.
"I see you're back to your lively and cheerful self, Tamaki-kun" Sogo smiled as Tamaki handed him a cup of tea.
"Well yeah! I have a friend to have tea parties with! Be careful, it's hot"
"Friend..mm" he mumbled, taking a sip of the tea. "This tea is delicious" Sogo smiled.
"I'm glad you like it!"
The two smiled at each others. They talked about what they did, what's been going on recently, about themselves. What was originally going to simply be a few minutes to talk turned into about an hour or so. Neither bothered to keep track.
"Heyyy! Tamaki!" they heard someone call out.
"Ah, Mikki and the others must be finally here- You're leaving So-chan?"
Sogo looked over his shoulder and smiled, "Don't worry, we can have tea again another time. For now just between us. Then maybe one day, I'll join you and your friends for one big tea party. When I'm ready to interact with them at least"
Tamaki grinned, "You're always welcome to come by for some tea whenever you want. I'll be waiting!"
"Fufufu, and you're always welcomed to come find me and talk with me. I don't mind"
They promised to see each others again whenever they could. That day, his curiousity got the better of him and as a result, he became friends with Tamaki.
Maybe one day, he would become friends with everyone else. Whenever he got the courage to talk to them all. But for now, he was fine just being friends with the Mad Hatter.
