Day 1
I woke up due to something licking my face. As I opened my eyes I could see Gizmo's butt in my face as he moved to licking my hand.
"Gizmo! Get your butt out of my face little buddy!" I groaned. I tried to sit up but my body felt soar. Gizmo whimpered before trying to help me sit up. Once sat up I rubbed his head and scratched behind his left ear.
"Let's go home buddy. I'm tired." I said as I used the wall across from me to stand up. As I did this a hot breeze hit my back. I froze where I was and slow turned my head around.
"What the-" Before I could finished the thing behind me quickly shot up and look at me. I quickly grabbed Gizmo and tired my best to run out of the cave. The thing didn't seem to like the idea of me leaving and quickly stood up and chased after me.
"This can't be happening! I must be dreaming or something but I know for a fact that this can't be real!" I thought to myself as I made it out of the cave. I ran to a tree a couple of feet away from the cave and waited for whatever was in there to come out.
I heard a whimper, followed by a rocks falling. Whatever that thing is it couldn't fit through the small opening of the cave. But it didn't matter to it. It just wanted to get out and it would do it until they make it out.
I watched as I saw a black thing poke out of the cave's entrance. Soon it shimied its way out and a full head poked out. That when I completely lost it. I placed Gizmo on the ground and quickly went to help it.
"It's okay. You'll be fine." I said as the creature whimpered. I tried to find a way to help but the fur or feathers block some parts of where the cave is.
"You're really stuck huh? Well you are huge." I said as I walked around it. As I walked over to the right side of the creature I found some rocks that seem to be blocking the rest of its body to come out. I quickly gripped a rock and pulled it out of place.
"Can you move now?" The creature moved forward and some rocks started to fall from where I pulled the rock from. I quickly moved out of the way and watched as the creature crawled out and shook the dirt off of them.
"You feel better now?" I said as I looked up at it. Its feathers moved wildly with the wind. It wings were tucked in and the horns on its head glowed. Its eye were big and round and his ears moved around as if it was hear for any danger.
"You can't be real." I said as I studied it. It looked so realistic but the last time I checked it was an AI from a video game. I need answers and I need them now.
"How do I get you home without having someone see you?" I said as I looked around. Gizmo walked over to the creature and sniffed at its feet. The creature looked down at him and tried to eat him but I quickly grabbed Gizmo.
"No Trico! Gizmo is not a barrel! Now let me think on how you're here and how to get you back to the cabin without you being seen." I said as I walked away and back to the tree I was hiding not long ago.
The creature, Trico, just followed and sat down next to the tree as it looked down at me. I place Gizmo on my lap and thought about all the possible explanations for this but none came to mind. There was also the thought of how I was going to get Trico back to the cabin and not get caught. I couldn't leave him here now that the cave looks like it's about to collapse.
"What do I do Gizmo?" I asked as I just sat here. Trico on the other hand decided to roll on it's back and look at me as if it wanted me to rub it's tummy. "You are so cute but I can't give you a belly rub right now."
Trico whined before rolling on it's stomach. It looked around before looking back at me. "What?" Trico looked towards the cave then back at me. I looked over at the cave a saw the mirror on the ground.
"You want me to get it for ye buddy?" I asked as I slowly removed Gizmo from my lap. Trico nodded as it watched me get up. I walked over to the mirror and picked it up. Trico just watched as I brought towards it.
"Was that all? Because if you want barrels then I can't help you. You might be scary, cute, and lovable, but I don't have barrels. So... yeah." Trico just stared at me before lowering it's head to me. I raised an eyebrow and pat it's head.
Trico didn't seem to enjoy it as much and shook away from my touch. "What? You didn't want that? Did you want something else?" I asked as I looked right into Trico's eyes. It looked at the mirror again and lowered it's head, showing me it horns this time.
I lifted the mirror up and placed it on Trico's head but nothing happened. I then decided to tap the mirror against the horns softly, making a small ringing noise. Trico let out a small roar before it started to glow a blueish color.
I watched as the light got stronger but as well shorter. Once the light was about the same hight or smaller than Gizmo, it disappeared. In Trico's place was now a smaller version of it. It walked closer to me as I went down on my knees, only to get licked on my face.
"Eeww!!! Trico! Stop it!" I said as I backed away with a smile. Trico walked towards me and hid itself in the pocket of my sweater. "Well I guess that solves that problem."
"SEAN!! SEAN WHERE ARE YOU!!" The voice of my brother Malcolm could be heard. I stood up from the ground and made sure that Trico stayed in my pocket. I then proceeded to follow my brother's voice with Gizmo following right next to me.
"SE- I FOUND HIM!" I was confused by what he meant. Wasn't it still evening?
"Sean!" I heard my Ma said as she ran towards me. I quickly placed my hands in my pockets to make sure Trico was alright. Ma gave me a huge hug and kissed my head. "I was so worried when you didn't come home two days ago."
"What? Two days? But I was only out cold for an hour or so." I replied as I pulled out of the hug due to Trico clawing at my hands.
"Sean, mom called us because she couldn't find you. She thought something bad happened to you and she didn't want to lose you." Malcolm said as he went for a hug. I was gonna let him but Trico started to bit me, so I just walked back to the cabin.
"I'm tired." I said as I started to make my way back home. The way back was weird. My sisters just stared at me while I tried to hide the fact that Trico sucking on my hand wasn't affecting me. Gizmo was still by my side but he would at times bark and growl at my family.
"Gizmo stop barking." I said once we reached the road that led to the cabin. Once inside the cabin I locked the door and and made sure that no one could see what I was doing.
"Okay Trico come out." I called out. Trico poked it's head out and looked over at me. I sat down carefully on the bed and watched as Trico laid on my lap. Gizmo soon followed as he jumped up on my bed and laid beside me.
"I guess you two are hungry as much as I am huh?" I said as I pet both of them. I heard my phone go off which mad Trico jump a little. I reached over to the night stand and saw it was Signe.
"Hello beautiful." I said as I laid down on the bed with Trico and Gizmo's head on my chest.
"Sean are you okay? Your mother called me saying that you went missing." Signed said. She sounded pretty panicked by the situation.
"I'm fine Signe. I just slept out in the woods for two days with Gizmo. I'm fine. Also I have to show you something once we're back home." I said as I looked down at the two sleeping animals.
"Okay Sean. Just be carefully please. Also I can't wait for you to show me." Signe replied. I could still here some worry in her voice but she didn't need to worry. I was fine and that's all that matters.
"I'll see you in a week love." I said. It was silent for a while before I heard her say...
"See you in a week. Love you Sean." And with that she hung up.
I looked at the time and decided to get some food for Trico and Gizmo. I walked over to the door where Gizmo's dog food and bowl was and poured food for them. I walked sack to the bed with the food and placed it on the ground. Gizmo ate while Trico stared.
"Come buddy, eat." I said as I sat next to it on the ground. Trico just shook its head and went over to the small fridge in the corner of the room. I grabbed a piece of raw fish and set it down on the ground. Trico quickly jumped off the bed and ran towards the fish.
"So you like fish huh? Well I'll make sure to buy a lot when I go to the shop." I said as I watched Trico eat. I smiled happily until my stomach started growling. "I guess I should eat too."
I quickly jumped over the two eating animals and walked to the door. I grabbed the keys by the door and looked back at the two. "Behave." And with that I left to go eat.
When I opened the door to my parents house everyone looked over at me. I just walked over to the table and started to grab any food that was in front of me.
"So like I was saying, my son doesn't want to go to college when he graduates from high school anymore." Malcolm said as he shot me a glare.
"What?" I replied with my mouth full of food.
"He wants to be just like you and your friends." He replied harshly.
"Hey I went to college and graduated dammit! I might've dropped out my first time but I went back again and graduated." I said as I tried to keep my anger at bay. As I was about to take a bit out of my smash potatoes Gizmo's doggy door opened. I looked behind me and saw Trico walk in and start looking around.
"I got to go." I said as I quickly stood up.
"But you hardly ate Sean." Ma said as she watched me go into the kitchen.
"I'll take it to my room!" I shouted as I followed Trico to the kitchen. "Trico come here." I whispered.
Trico looked at me before jumping onto the kitchen counter. Trico looked back at me before it jumped into the sink dropping as couple of cups on the ground. "Trico!" I whispered harshly.
"Sean are you alright?" Ma called from the table.
"I'm fine! I jump dropped some cups by accident!" I replied as I quickly grabbed Trico and placed it in my sweater. "Bad Trico! No more fish for you!" I whispered. I quickly grabbed a plate, took a piece of cake and went back to the table to grab my plate.
"I'll see you in the morning." I said as I walked back to the door. I wanted to look back but I didn't. I just need to sleep and hope that tomorrow all this would just be a dream.
